  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

Started mine for the first time this year today. Started first time as usual, and yes I did prime the tubs and get the oil flowing before running. One slight problem I noticed was that there is a bit a of blue smoke coming out the exhausts :(. Hard to say at the moment if it's a turbo seal issue or if it's just burning off residual oil. Engine sounded sweet as though, so not all bad..

.....well yesterday that is...LOL! Took a trip to Wakehurst Place this time - that's three sunny Sunday outings in a row...

And Adam - I love your ZX mate; fantsatic looking car my friend!!

Richard:thumbup:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Fit my mirrors and got closure in this area as the door cards are all back together and I have lit what I wanted to light up, these mirrors now have indicators, auto fold, adjust and are heated :thumbup1:.

All my indicators are yellow and match very well as opposed to some of the led bulbs being more of an amber colour, look very nice especially at night when all is a blinking, the new mirror indication can be seen perfectly during daytime as well.

Also, lit up and tested my HID front fogs and low beam and all is working well .

I'll take a video over the next day or so as the headlights I showed in post 195 are fitted and work a treat .

That looks the biz mate. :thumbup1:

They do look great Andy, could pass for factory mirrors.

I was thinking of converting my headlights back to HID's, previous owner only did the headlights but one of the ballasts failed so I went back to normal headlights for the MOT.

When I do convert them back to HIDs I want the jap fog/sidelight to both be less yellow too. Would you use some of those eBay led bulb replacements for the sidelights and a 2nd HID ballast kit for the fogs?

The goal all along was to achieve the factory mirror look, I took great care with the 'slot' cutting out with different dremel attachments and then used needle files where necessary.

If you must keep your sidelights in the fogs yes get some 5 smd T10 bulbs from ebay. Personally I would put the sidelights in the indicator housing and just have the H3 HID's in the fogs, nothing else as they are a great mod  as well as HID in the dipped as that of course is a no brainer :thumbup1:.

iv put the flywheel in clutch in gearbox in starter on just got too work out how to take the nut off the prop shaft of the auto one as the ends are different and put on the manual one any ideas anyone

Ive got pics of the sprayed panels ive done that i want to show but there on my phone and i dont know how to get them off lol!!!

Its looking nice though. i could of spent 3k on a spray job and it wouldnt look any better :)

done loads today. took the rear hatch off. took the glass out and found horrible rust starting to develop where the window sits. so sanded the whole edge down to bare metal and treated. once dry i then painted on some hammerite smooth just incase. then when that had dryed i sprayed the hatch and spoiler :)

Ive modded my door handles so now the keyring lights up and a hiden led behind the door grab so it all lights up when you unlock your car. ive also put down lights in my wing mirrors to light up the floor at night when the car is unlocked :cool3:

Also lol!!! ive 100% finished off the passenger rear arch. finally got paint on it and it looks 100% mint. all the lines are perfect and no horrible dips or ripples so all the refections are spot on which i was worried about.

Just got ones more to do which will be easy and the rear bumper then the rebuild begins

mine came out the garage today for the first time in over a year! hooked up the battery turned it over a few times with the fuel pump fuse out to get the oil moving and she fired up first time once fuse was back in place! gotta get the centre's off the brake disc's powdercoated same colour as Brembo calipers now!
