  1. Hi guys, My Z has a touch of rust around so I'm looking at getting a complete respray. Anyone know which are the best body shops around the midlands to get this done? The rust isn't too severe but the silver is looking a bit aged so I'm thinking it's probably best just to give it a respray, it'll be in the same colour. Anyone know approx how much I should be paying for it also? Cheers!

:punk:Woke up this morning to find out I've won a Big Brembo Brake Kit!!!:punk:. Entered a raffle Stateside for a 6 piston Porsche brake kit, includes refurbed Brembo 17z Porsche calipers to be powder coated in a colour of my choice:innocent:, decals, stainless brake lines, adapter brackets and mounting hardware!! To say I'm chuffed to bits is an understatement  I now have three different sets of 6 piston front calipers for the 300zx!! Question now is, do I sell my two front setups along with my rears and go for a complete custom colour, continue on as I am and sell the others, or sell them on in the US as I would still have to cover ship…

Not of YouPorn variety Can someone do me a favour and take a picture of the screws that hold the rear numberplate illumination bracket to the rear bumper. One of mine has gone walkies and none of my spares Nissan screws seem to either look right or have the correct thread pitch. Cheers all Nick

hi guys i currently have a hks evc 1 fitted to the zed, it was on the car when i bought it so i would imagine the car has been chipped, but i don't know for sure. anyway i don't like the way the solenoid has been fitted under the bonnet (bolted to the one front strut stud) or the extra pipework under the bonnet if i wanted to remove it i guess the pipes coming from the turbo's would just need to be re-connected at the front of the car by the intake pipes? (where the other pipes to the boost solenoid are connected at the moment) the controller has only ever been set to low boost and i haven't had any running issues, am i likely to have any problems if i just remove t…

I'm toying with ideas, mainly because I'm bored, but probably picking up an old BMW touring ( drift daily toy) to replace my ruined mondeo, and it's got a good tow bar on it, now I've been struggling with the concept of driving the noisy, thirsty, violent ( list goes on) slicktop to events, so I've hatched a plan, now my license prevents me towing anything with a train weight over 3.5t, the BMW is about 1.5t and can tow a further 1.7t, so pretty much rules out any trailers, but then I saw a camper towing something with an a frame, So wiring the car so it's lights work with the BMW would be easy, rigging up a 12v vacuum pump and cable brake would be easy too, so bra…

Have spent the morning stripping the car down to get to the clutch booster which has been leaking for a while. I've found the problem seal but I need help finding a new part. Part number is 221-24100 E7. Any ideas? Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk

  10. Started by bigh,

This is embarrassing, after replacing all of my brake lines on the car, I had one line that I spent an age trying get the new flare and 10mm nut to seal properly. I must have made up to 4 lines in total before finally today the little barsteward stopped weeping. The weep was so small you would only know it was leaking if you rammed a blue cloth tight up against the pipe and the back of the nut, and when you removed it the cloth would be a slightly darker blue. Anyway checking the nipples on the ABS unit I discovered I had a similar leak. So small that it only noticed after mashing he brake pedal 5-10 times and again hold a rage against the underside of the nippl…

Looking at fitting my nice Momo wheel tomorrow, I have just realised I have a HICAS boss kit, which I bought ages ago. I have recently removed my hicas sytem, so will this boss still work without HICAS or do I need to buy a new boss kit?

In case any member is bidding on this nice Z I believe it is NOT a Twin Turbo! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/nissan-300zx-targa-top-twin-turbo-engine-auto-import-74001-miles-red-shrewsbury-/282458772637?hash=item41c3dad49d:g:S2MAAOSwR29ZDC7W

  15. I don't have either of them here to compare, well, one I do. I assume they're handed to fit the rods as they'll actuate in reverse. I can't for the life of me remember whether they are or not? Does anyone have a photo of both from reverse or at least be able to confirm whether they're handed or not? Thanks :)

Hello, hello everyone. I trust everyone is doing well and enjoying the weather :D I haven't been active online as much, just been busy with work and other commitments and other life responsibilities haha. Cant remember when was the last time I posted anything!! Over all I've been ok. On the other hand my poor z hasn't had such a good time. A while back someone decided to help themselves to my alloys, stereo and subwoofer. They smashed both left side windows and the rear glass. The same was done with another two of my cars. This all happened when I was away in the states. I was renting a yard and left it with a family member as he was going to be using it also. :thumb…

  17. On my way to the PKK (our MOT) and as I overtake a car it starts slipping, did a pull just before I stopped too and could smell the clutch as I stopped. Also, I'm going to Germany on the 31. So this is pretty bad timing. No one in Norway stocks uprated clutches so I need one fast from abroad, I know rockauto.com tends to be very fast, they sell the exedy stage 1 full face and exedy stage 2 cerametallic three puck in the upgraded/heavy duty category. Any experience with any of these? Or similar? I have divorced downpipes and cat back, upgraded intercoolers and I will be upping the boost soon. Then next year comes bigger injectors and a tune... As some know, I'm often in the US either on holiday or some sort of Z Show whether it be one of the regional Midwestern shows or ZNationals. I was going to go to ZCon in San Diego in 2014 but timings were bad for me. This year however I've just booked tickets to go to ZCON in Austin, Texas which is the middle of next month. ZCON is probably the biggest gathering of Z Cars at least in the United States and possibly the world and is sponsored by Nissan Corporate and a number of high profile tuning manufacturers and parts suppliers and to many considered the Mecca of Z events. It used to be attended by Mr.K before his passing a few years ago. My main excitement is …

Hi all my old pals, long time since I have been on here, mostly because my love Bill is quite seriously ill. I was 60 last month and while most women get jewellery I got myself a 1981 280zx. A love very original example with less than 7k miles on the clock. all the MOTs to verify this, original bill of sale, receipt for full rustproofing and undersealing done when it was 2 years old. I will try get pics up. I have wanted a classic Z for a while, to suit my new age, but the 240 and 260 are gone way out of my price range. Have to say I am very happy with this buy.

So I unearthed my ECU today to find a Kakimoto sticker on it. It's a 91 n/a. Is it likely to do much for an n/a? The guy i bought it off did say the fuel economy was surprisingly good on long runs and i was pleasantly surprised at how little petrol i had to put in it to get it home.. Not really driven it much since as I've been restoring it, but getting it on the road soon. Is it a proper remap or just a standard plug in job?

the heat shields on my fuel tank and pipe filler were like paper and crumpled when touched, when removing them all the nuts snapped now there dos'nt appear enuff room to drill the the top 1s out, and i can't see how you can even get to the fuel tank strap bolts near the back axel so i could take the strap of and drill them that way, any advice would be much apreciated :hammer:

I've just managed to buy two brand new door cards for what I concider to be a good price. They are the wrong colour ( I can deal with that) and they are for the later series cars with b pillar mounted belts. I think I will convert the car to the later style belts, does anyone have an opinion on which is better ( people always trap the belt in the door at the moment) plus I don't want to hack up new door cards. On a general note I'm really excited about these as I have replaced almost all of the interior plastic and the current door cards are letting the interior down.

Struggling to get the courtesy light to switch off when closing the boot lid. Shuts and locks okay, but the light stays on unless I really slam the the lid excessively. I'm guessing there is a switch somewhere, can someone point me in the right direction please? Maybe just needs a little TLC.
