So I have been looking at getting my Momo wheel on this evening. I have just deleted my Hicas, and was told that I could fit a non hicas boss to my steering column. However the HKB boss looks like this And won't fit due to the brass ring being in the way. Is there anything I can do to adapt my current boss? Or do I need to order a new Hicas boss to fit the current setup? Thanks guys

I'm sure most of you have seen this on ebay for sale and imo it looks in good condition and reads well. Its not a sought after oem Z but good condition kitted cars will become very rare and sought after also. These bad boys are part of the Nissan 300zx Jap heritage so don't dismiss it...Love it. :) It looks familiar to me was it a members car here at one time? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/nissan-300zx-twin-turbo-/292132650941?hash=item4404767fbd:g:-~wAAOSww5hZKx5M

  6. I've had the car for it's 1st MOT in 3 years and it failed on the rear fog light not working and have spent days trying to figure it out. I have tested the relay and it works fine. Fuse is fine as is the bulb Switch is fine, and linked out the 2 pins on the circuit board to make 100% sure I get power to the fuse and relay, so guessing the switch completes the ground circuit rather than supplies power? Now if I ground pin 1 on the relay the fog light comes on, should that be correct? Also if remove the relay and I link pins 1 & 2 then 3 & 5 then put 12v to pin 1 it also turns on the fog light? Under both circumstances the switch doesn't…

So my paint job has again reacted as soon as it got hotter, again. Crazing/cracking...the only option is to strip to metal an try again, for which I no longer have facilities. That's not the issue though. As mentioned before I have a running problem, I've pulled codes 34 (knock sensor) and 12, MAF (but that should be because I had it disconnected). Even if there is a knock sensor issue, would this cause the engine to stumble and stall? The car runs great until I connect the confirmed 'good' MAF. So this suggests pump, injectors and coils are fine. Maybe an air leak then... The engine used to run fine 5 years ago, and so can't be a major issue, gunk ma…

  8. Or infact any big brake conversion For those of you that have made the change to Brembos or other big brake conversions, how did you find the following was effected? 1) Pedal modulation (so how much pedal travel from very light braking to 100% brakes) 2) abs engagement under heavy braking (kicks in earlier or later) Any feedback would be appreciated - - - Updated - - - Oh, since I can't edit, how different did you find in it comparison to stock brakes

Ok, so I brinjibg "it" out of hibernation because it looks like the sun might be about for a full week. I've been preparing everything for a plenum pull, egr delete and injector change for a few months and expected a couple of days messing about with it all as I planned on cleaning up some dodgy vacuum lines and painting a few bits as I went. Started Thursday evening, plenum off, EGR out and the two hardliners to the plenum removed. Just the EGR to manifold feed pipe to remove. Well, it's now Saturday evening, I'm about £50 lighter in my pocket due too buying extra tools. I have three knuckles left that still look relatively normal. I've possibly broke my thumb and t…

  13. Hi. I'm new to the forum, but doing a full restoration of a 93 Z32. Which had had some front end damage, where someone in a pick up smacked into it with bull bars. Off side head light was smashed. Headlight mounting plate was bent, off side wing bent and front bumper smashed. All that has been fixed, except the nuts and bolts that fix the bumper to the front wings. Does anyone know the size and thread pitch of these? I did post in the general section by mistake, so posting a new thread here in case anyone missed it Thanks in advance, Ash

Please can anyone confirm the size of piping I need for the two hard pipes that supply fluid to the steering rack? I like to believe it's 3/16 but to me it seems bigger. Thanks

hi guys just changed my short shifter for a gem shifter, however the short shifter had a different lower bush it was on pin bearings with a metal collar inside, this meant the sleeve was slightly smaller than the poem sleeve. just need to double check is this the right sleeve? https://conceptzperformance.com/nissan-infiniti-nissan-oem-300zx-collar-shifter-bushing-z32-34556-30p10_p_9864.php

Ok while doing some totally boring skirting board painting late last night this song came on the radio..... by the end of it I was laughing. Famous song by Billy Joel and heard it many times but not in the same way, listen to it on the link and read the verse I think the guy had a Z and wrote the song about it !! .... enjoy https://youtu.be/zkfkJCyqCBc Jeff

  18. So I recently purchased my first Z. She's a 1990 Auto TT. The other day I noticed some smoke coming from the back of the engine bay, next to the gearbox fluid dipstick. I'm assuming that there is oil leaking from somewhere and is dripping onto the exhaust however I'm not 100%. Just wondering if anyone has experienced this before or knows what the issue might be? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm very new to the Z's. Thanks.

  21. A little while ago I purchased a low milage Idle control valve, as I suspected mine had seen better days. At first glance everything looked okay. It wasn't until I compared them side by side that I noticed some subtle differences. My question is, although they are different, can I fit the newer one without any issues? The later one is the one that looks fairly clean as opposed to the grubby one I have just removed. Unfortunately, only the newer of the 2 valves have any part numbers on it. Pictures below....

Hi guys, thought I had sorted this issues out but it seems to have gotten worse this week. When I kick down and it revs hard and I then slow down the accelerator pedal is stiff and she revs higher when idling. When I blip the throttle she revs back to normal. I adjusted the throttle cable because it was too tight and this seemed to have fixed the issue previously but its back...unless the throttle cable has a tendency to become tighter for some reason leaving the throttle open a touch when at idle. The strangest part, for a new to auto owner, is that when in drive or gear it will rev to about 1100 but when I put her into N or P it revs to 3000 until I blip the thrott…

  23. I am trying to replace my broken AC Condenser and unless I import from the US... the only option for new appears to be from Nissan UK at £585 (8 week wait)....so I am hoping to pick up one from a breaker and then see if I can get it repaired/re-cored at a local radiator specialists.....if that can't be done for a reasonable cost... I will have to go down the import route. The reason I am opting to find one from a breaker instead of taking mine out is that it requires a lot of dismantling...and I don't really want to take my car to bits without knowing just how long it would have to stay like that  So....the part number for my car (1991 TT manual) is 92…

  24. Hello everyone. So I wondered what you guys are running in terms of rear suspension set ups? As I have upper camber arms, and although given me quite a bit more camber than stock, I'm limited and my rear set up isn't level regardless of how 3 attempts to adjust the camber arms to be equal. Before I got to a garage and have the set up properly aligned on a hunter machine, I wanted to make sure I have everything I need in place to get the set up just as I want it. Poor screen grab shot of my set up for now. Thanx in advance. Mex

  25. Started by JAYDM,

Hi everyone, my '91 TT is reading error code 21 (ignition sensor circuit) or the PTU.. I'm sure this is quite a common problem experienced by lots of users and I apologise if there's threads I've missed. I understand pre '92 models had an older version PTU which was prone to failing and was later replaced for a more reliable unit. My question is: is it a simple case of buying the newer replacement unit? I'm assuming I will need an adaptor harness also? Is there anything else I'm missing? Thank you in advance. Jay
