I recently picked up some new pads for the car, but I'm missing the anti squeal shims, and the new pads didn't come with any. Does anyone know if I can buy some separately? I tried z center, but they aren't listed any more :helpsmilie:

The plastic grommets that snap into the tin frames that clip to the corners of the front bumper wear through. Rather than risk the time and expense of replacing said frames with new ones (as the grommets aren't available separately), I discovered a way of giving them a new lease of life. In my quest to get the best panel fitment as I could, I've replaced all the other wing grommets I could. I noticed that the lower portion of the front wing (where the very bottom of the arch liner secures) looks very similar so bought a bunch. As you can see, they're slightly different, but fit the same sized cutouts. Fitted. Part number. …

So need to replace all of the bushes on the knuckle shown below, apart from burning the hell out of them. Does anybody recommend a tool that can press them out ? I've already tried using the socket method and they wont budge.

Fitting my big brake setup and managed to do the fronts easy enough but having issues with the back. The biggest being the brake dust shield for the OEM brakes. As you need the inner part of the shield for the handbrake what does everyone do in terms of separating the shield or trimming it back ? Its looks spot welded so i'm presuming you just drill out the welds or do people just cut off the larger piece ?

So, was finally hoping to see my knock sensor today, stripped down everything to get the lower intake off, didn't realise what a nightmare it would be to get the timing belt cover off! Anyway, got everything freed up, all bolts removed, went to pull the intake up, and it was lose, I thought here we go finally...but something was stopping it. Turns out it's a PCV hard pipe at the rear that literally snakes in an around the back of the intake in a 'U' shape, over around the studs (green arrows). There's even a support bracket that attaches the PCV hard pipe to the water pipe above (orange circle)! As I'll be doing the coolant bypass, I…

Someone please help before I torch this thing Just been rebuilt, has run away fine until out of nowhere during cold idle it hunts, then drops well below 1k revs and dies If I keep a bit of throttle on and warm it up it isles rough as guts when until it's warm where it seems to be okay. Took codes, faulty temp sensor, replaced no change. Found the throttle bodies were out of sync and not closing fully. Fixed and no change Went about the set idle procedure. Idles good TPS has been adjusted Had the idle control valve off, cleaned and connector ohm tested. Have the air regulator apart and seems to be working. Plugs out cleaned and …

My wheels need a tidy up and at the moment I'm thinking of going for a recreation of the original finish. As standard the have a diamond cut lip and centre with plain silver spokes. I imagine that this is going to cost quite a bit and may not last that long. There is a specialist nearby that can do this though. Other options- Plain silver Slightly darker silver Other options considered but not for me I think Matt bronze Gloss black Any thoughts/ ideas?

so my uk clocks have arrived and there seems to be one plug different to what is on the car, i have a 12 way socket on the gauges, but only a 8 way plug on the car, do i need to change the plug or can i just connect it up? i just don't want to go and plug anything in and damage something. looking at the extra pins on the socket they look to be mainly grounds that are connected elsewhere. the uk clocks came off an early car. JDM clocks Uk clocks

Ok, I have my plenum off finally! I'm going to do the coolant bypass, the green lines is where I need to install the bypass pipe. The YouTube video ( ) which shows how to do the NA coolant bypass doesn't mention the pipes I've circled red. So I guess these have to remain. Unfortunately I've cut one of them. I'm guess if I simply remove these; coolant will be pumped out everywhere? Also, one of the main reasons I've removed the plenum was to replace the knock sensor. I understood I could get at it by just removing the plenum, as long as the EGR was removed, which it is. However, I see no way of getting to the knock sensor without removing the l…

Guys The speedo on my 300zx seems to be malfunctioning and isn't displaying the correct speed e.g on my way to work this morning was showing 140! Now it is showing 180! I knew they were quick back in the day but doing 180 while stood is amazing for any car! Could it be the cluster or a sensor of some sort? Thanks in advance

ok moving on from yesterday i've just had a lucky find and bought some uk clocks, there is quite a considerable difference in mileage though, mine are on 69,000 miles and the one i have bought are up on 200,000. now i've been looking at both sets online and the connector on the odometer/trip counter both look the same, is it possible to fit my odometer from jdm kmh clocks into the uk clocks or would they register mileage wrong? if thats the case could the motor be swapped as i notice it's only screwed on the back of the odometer unit.

I'm going to attempt an injector replacement, it's no.1 injector (by oil filler). Has anyone removed and replaced this without Dremel work? It looks like by removing the throttle cable bracket, that it should be doable.

Hello!! Not been active on the forum for about 12 months (my bad) . Ive not got the car going yet after 6 years now, but I'm having another attempt (time flies!), one thing I can't seem to manage to get this intercooler to fit http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/REV9-Front-Mount-Intercooler-FMIC-for-300zx-Z32-Fairlady-VG30dett-Twin-Turbo-/161875227564?hash=item25b083f3ac:g:VJIAAOSwAYtWNSzm I think I need to cut the pipes, I've had it fitted without the front bumper on, Ive cut into the plastic bar that goes across the front of the car where the lights sit in, still no joy. Anyone any tips? Shall I cut the ally pipes? If I can manage this I can then underseal i…
