The knock sensor from my 1990 Nissan 300ZX TT is broken and I need to replace it. Where can I buy a new one for a fair price? I checked a Nissan dealer and they charge 357,- GBP for it!!! :(

Who the heck has bid this zed up to £810 ??? clearly cannot read ? 10 years off the road sat with engine in bits and body rotted off, no way.... not even any use as a brealker ! It was stripped because of a noisy lifter, I have a spare head and turbo with the engine with good lifters in. The gearbox was fully working when it was in use but this is around 10 years ago. "

Following on from a previous thread about the red Z that failed at auction and the comments about classic cars..... I went to a classic car auction just very recently and was genuinely shocked to see that MOST of the entries were what used to be called Tetleys (Tetley Bitters) ! Much rust on display and a lot of them hadn't even been hoovered ! Very few were what you would consider immaculate/restored. They mostly seemed just tired older cars. The most surprising entry of the day was a 2004 BMW 640 Convertible.....not immediately considered a classic imo. It's appeal ? It used to belong to Tara Palmer-Thomkinson ! It was an interesting day out but…

Okay guys what's the consensus on this as im sure many 300's have this problem. Speedo works fine 70% of the time, then it drops to 0 and fires up to 180 then a couple minutes later the PAS goes heavy because the ECU thinks its on a go-slow. So two questions: 1) In my head it would make more sense that the signal from the VSS to the ECU is whats causing the problem (broken VSS, housing or wires), not the clocks themselves, as the ECU is throwing out the PAS based on the signal it's RECIEVING, not the signal it's SENDING out to the gauges. Does this sound correct? 2) Failing correcting this issue as I don't need a working speedo except for MOT time, is there…

For those that have been Zed owners for a very long time, you will no doubt remember the wide arch black shortie named Zelda. I have been looking for photos of her on the net, and can only find one! Does anyone have any photos on their hard drives that they could post up on this thread please?

Just got some new door mirrors as my driver's side motor (fold in) is a bit tired now. Is it possible to swap the motors from the new ones (and how easy is it) to the old ones? Only asking as I don't want to get the new ones painted yet

My latest import has just arrived and looks stunning and totally stock. its down having the fog light sorted and MOT's, but there is a small problem. The drivers side door lock seems to be knackered, wont lock and my mechanic says he can see bits of springs etc loose inside. what are my options here? Is it possible to get a replacement from Nissan given the key number?

Hey folks, so Im in the process of doing some works on the car i.e replacing subframes , brake lines etc. Im still trying to figure out what year the engine is , is there an easy way to tell? I also noted that there is a pipe(blocked off) out of the sump pan , which indicate that the engine might have been a turbo , but was not installed due to a lack of space in the MX5? Can anybody give me some insight. Also I need to replace the clutch slave cylinder as its seized, what is the part nr for this please? Ive seen some of fleeBay but not sure if its the correct one. Thanks.

Hello everyone, Some of you might know my red 300zx :) I am using my 300zx as a daily car as its fun being different haha, for the last few weeks I have kind a started thinking maybe I should sell my zed as i will never stop modding it and get an original 99spec zed, obviously save up a bit a and look for a really clean 100% original car, either here in uk(obviously not many of them are here) or just get one imported. Yes i know its expensive but it is also a good investment. In that case if I would go for 99 spec I would keep it 100% stock (Suspension and etc) that would also be much more like road friendly as its not that low and stiff to use as a daily driver. …

Woohoo, so picked up my first Z32 in 10 years this weekend, done about 150 miles and already the heaters gone cold with bubbling matrix when the ignition goes off. Went to burp the coolant today and the radiator just sucks dry by a 3rd every 3 minutes. So I take a peak underneath - drips pissing out from all over the shop underneath the engine. Now there's no white steam coming out the exhaust, and rad cap is clean so I'm hoping it's nothing more than a few buggered hoses. I've read about the coolant bypass mod so I plan on doing that this weekend - anywhere I can buy a full compliment of silicone or new rubber coolant hoses to nip this in the bud?

  25. Hello the Forum, time to get excited and plan big things. I've been building my car in my head for years, sometimes I do it in real life too, but now it's time to plan the next step. I have bought a house! With a bloody enormous garage 5.23m x 5.26m. I am going to compliment my house with 1x fridge, 1x sofa, 1x bed, 1x broadband router and an engine hoist  I think it was Joely P who referenced an American tuning study that showed how good a zed can be with stock turbos and better pipework. That is basically where my car is now. I want the fittest 500bhp in the country. From 3000rpm to the red line. My car is a bit like that now but with …
