I'm new to the forum and have been reading through the past 2 months of discussions to brush up on my knowledge of the ZX. I have seen insurance mentioned a few times as people have recommended the cheapest companies to each other. I wanted to recommend Lanaster Insurance. I am 21 with 4 years NCB. They have just insured me fully comp on a 1990 Jap import 300ZX 2+2 TT for £1050, They are good for imports as they don't charge any extra as long as there is a compariable UK model of the same year. Their number is 01480 484848. Thought this might be of use to younger/ import 300ZX owners.

I have recently purchased a 1990 import 2+2 TT and want to replace the rear bumper with a UK one to avoid the square number plate. Could anyone point me to the best/cheapest place place to find a new replacement? Other than the bumper, i am really pleased with the car and this web site looks very informative for new owners of the ZX like myself.

In two weeks time (15/10), the world superbike championship is at Brands Hatch. In case anyone hasn't seen it, the racing is AWESOME. I'm going to be going and will be booking tickets within the next couple of days. Cost is £33 to get in plus £15 for grandstand tickets - if they're available I'll be getting seats at Paddock Hill bend which is the best place to be seated. If they're not available then I probably won't bother with the other grandstands. If anyone wants to come along then please email me at work on Monday (david.hairs@landg.com). Please only email me if you're definite as I'll be booking by credit card and can't afford to suffer losses after my gea…

Just some info on the laughing gas for those interested . Ive had experience with it on cars and bikes and im busy putting it on my Z now. I have a system that I had on my old 2.0 RS Turbo, I am sending away at the moment for an extra injector and the splitter as the Z has 2 inlets.I used a wet system single point injector into the inlet just after the throttle butterfly with water injection at the outlet of the intercoolers on my car and multi point injectors on the bikes (that would be more costly on a Z as a 6 way splitter is about £90).I am not keen on using a boost cut out system I would rather use slightly smaller jets but use it all the way up through the rev r…

okay, i have edited the internet dns zone so that you can now get to www.300zx.co.uk just by typing 300zx.co.uk which means that the url is easier to use as a logo. So, with that in mind, i thought something like this might be easy and straightforward to get done. The Z logo that is used as the background image for these pages, overlayed with the url, in the same font style as the 300zx on the back of the car. Hopefuly this ASCII art version will display okay for a quick idea, but i will try and make a proper one when i get home. (learn photoshop while i do it) The pic at the bottom is of the back of Simon's car which shows text (which we should all kn…

okay people, here are my thoughts on this "official club" thing.... what's wrong with this as the official club ? As Jez posted previously, we are all here, we all visit, we can all post. As soon as the new version of the admin tools are done, then you can do your own pages. Tooley, if you want to be responsible for the Northern Chapter :) then i can give you admin rights to the Events section, and you can do your own write ups, meet info etc. The tools are almost done now. If you all want official membership numbers then let me know, i'll give you some. I have them already.... Posting articles, pages, newsletters, etc is zero cost on here, no…

I'm looking for a replacement steering wheel, as mine is pretty chewed up around the rim. I would like a OEM wheel in very good condition...has anyone recently changed theirs?

I'll be getting a compression test done soon on the '92 TT I'm after: could anyone give me an idea of what sort of results are acceptable? Is anything less than a perfect result bad news, or is there some tolerance? Oh, and is £50 +VAT a good quote for the job? Thanks, Raz

I can't remember what tyre pressures I've been running and, just having had all 4 tyres off for wheel re-furb, I want to make sure they're right. Can those of you running 18s, please post what pressures you use - and particularly whether you've worn a full set of tyres and so are able to be sure you've had pretty even tyre wear. (245/40.18 front, 265/35.18 rear) Cheers Dave
