Took the Z for a blast upto BHam to the Motorshow today. There wasn't anything there that would make you leave really wanting it other than some of the girls on the Renault stand. ();-) I'm a saint really! I appear to have gained a hole in my exhaust. As this is probably a good place to start with mods, any suggestions on what to fit and costs. I don't want anything too noisy. Also while I think about it is it normal for the car to change down gear on the auto box just by very very gently touching the throttle around 70mph ?

To be brief. I have oil in the expansion tank. black oil not milky.there's no water on the dipstick and it's still new and clear. i have had the radiator replaced with a new one and was told originally it was gearbox oil? Also one garage mentioned a "porous head", whatever that is. after being compression tested by two garages i've been told it's fine but it's not! Any ideas or places to take it to get it checked would be appreciated. thankz

A little while ago, a mechanic friend of mine lowered the driveshaft to try and get to the reverse switch. Since then I have had a rubbing noise, which sounds like metal shearing when I'm in second and fourth gear. Would anyone know what has gone wrong? Cheers.

Have converted my jap import from Kmh - Mph today and it works a treat, job took about 3 hours & involves removing instrument cluster. Hardest bit was changing the speedo face, although I got a needle removal tool with the kit which makes the job much easier. Anyone planning to do the same, I highly recommend Far East Services. Kit is 85 quid but does include a very good quality replacement Mph/Kmh face, needle removal tool and chip. Only 4 wires and one loom wire to cut so not rocket science. I've been warned off the cheap kits because on auto's, they can affect the change points and trash your box ... Let me know if anybody wants more info. Ri…

Well I now have my 91 TT and I love it. It kicks bottom, I had a 928S2 Porker earlier in the year and this would leave it for dead! I do have a question (the start of many I would think) Has anyone experienced jumping with the factory CD player, mine plays and occasionally jumps on mild bumps. Is it possible to fit an aftermarket radio as I have quite a decent Pioneer CD but am not sure if it will fit straight in?

Morning all, been a while since I've been around, but nice to see it's just as busy. Had some fun with my TT, after a tranny rebuild, torque converter, etc.. (£1400), I hit some FOD on the M6 which punctured the A/T sum .. boy was I pissed, got towed off the slip lane by a friendly officer of the law in his shiny range rover who then proceeded to breath test me.... atleast she's back on the road with only one speedig conviction... :-) Nico, still not sorted your turbos .. how long ... sore point I'm sure.. Catch you all later, Kmh - Mph chip change to do this morning ... Also looking for a leather interior if anybodies seen one kicking around. Cheer…

My clutch on my Z seems to have a different feel under different driving conditions, for example when pottering about low down in the rev range it can feel quite heavy but if you put your foot down a bit it can feel quite light. Is this a sign of a bigger problem or is it nothing to worry about. Any advice would be appreciated

I am thinking of buying a 300zx and was looking for some advice - What are the common problems that I should look for ? What are the differences between UK and Jap models ? Is there any reason not to buy a Jap model ? Cheers, email replies to JDixon@lonza.co.uk

Hi, I've made a start on translating the less-obvious bits of the Japanese owners manual I got with my 300, but obviously its pretty slow going. Anyone know if this task has already been done, and/or whether there's an easy source of brit owners manuals, translated or native? Thanks, Raz

Hey guys, Quick question for anyone that has removed the AC compressor, reading from the TT.net tech Damon uses a 'Crows Foot' Wrench to remove the bolt at the back. As far as i can speculate this must be a some sort of wrench / Spanner with a offset head of some kind however im not sure without acutally looking at the job at hand. Which is the problem as i wanna get the whole job out of the way next weekend. not leaving me a lot of time to go shopping for missing tools Etc. Any help Pics Appreciated Cheers Z ya Nico91TT

Just found this forum and its excellent and I hope you can help. Got in the Z on Saturday and the clutch went straight to the floor with no resistance at all. Thanks to Bob's manual I was able to bleed the system but still no joy, I now think the operating cylinder (the one attached to the gearbox) is shagged as fluid appears to be leaking around the dust shield. My question is, does anyone know a good garage in the South London area that could confirm/laugh off my amateur diagnosis and do the repair ? Thanks John

Can anyone recommend a good company around M25/Dartford to do a full service to my Jap 300ZX. I am not sure whether it is worth using an official Nissan dealer who have said they will service the car for the same cost as the UK version or go to a 3rd party agent who will be cheaper, but not necessarily as good.

Well hopefully I should be getting my TT in the next couple of days, a 91 H auto with 62K in metallic black and totally standard. The question is once I have got the prop vibration cured where do I start modifying. I thought of starting with the exhaust and then.... any thoughts?

I'm looking for some standard diameter but 1/4" longer wheel studs for my front wheels. I've had to fit some hubcentric spacers for caliper clearance and I wouldn't want my front wheels to wonder off while I'm driving. Steve
