Where can I find longer wheel studs?

I'm looking for some standard diameter but 1/4" longer wheel studs for my front wheels.

I've had to fit some hubcentric spacers for caliper clearance and I wouldn't want my front wheels to wonder off while I'm driving.

Steve,

couldn't you take one down to your local engineering firm and get them to make some for you ?

I don't know what the bolt shoulder looks like (star, square, normal?) but it should be a simple job for them.

...I'm having problems with my front disks and being given spacers to allow the new disks to clear the stone guards. These will ultimately shorten the studs effective length. Question is, how thick are your spacers, and what thickness do you think is the maximum?

cheers

Jack,

I've not heard of that problem before. If you discs don't clear the stone guards properly then they may not be the right ones??

Anyway, my spacers are 3mm thick and I'm told that 6mm each side would be a maximum.

I would suggest that any spacer fitted would need to be hubcentric so as not to affect wheel balance at high speed!

Whats happening? Why the spacers? Have U got new wheels or did something bad happen that I should possibly know about ;-)

Hi Mark,

I still have the same wheels! The problem is that the offset on the Antera wheels just isn't enough to give the minimum 5mm clearance on the AP caliper. Your wheel offset is no doubt different to mine.

My car is fine but I would sleep better at night knowing that my wheel nuts would go on 3mm more than they do.

I want to get longer ones for piece of mind that anything else. If I had 400hp less, then I probably would worry about it but I think everything has to be right on the Z!!

Thanks Craig, and Dave who emailed me about the posting on tt.net.

Nissan Motorsport U.S isn't the most detailed information I would like but I'm on the case.

The guy on tt.net is going to email me when he contacts them.

I have an engineering place near me looking into the longer studs but they seem to be having difficulty because of the diameter!

Mmm! not sure how hard they are trying though.
