General Discussions - 300ZX Related

I know that cruise control can be an almighty pain in the arse but mine will not let me set it on after 65mpg (legal speed limit in Japan) which makes me look dull cruising at that speed and would like to be able to set it higher !! Any ideas anyone ?? Dan

I usually put Castrol Magnatec in coz its a decent price, you get plenty of it, and its designated for advanced engines etc... Idont want to go down the route of Mobil 1 coz its unfeasibly expensive and a bit too thin for my liking...Anyway, on my last oil change I ran some STP engine flush through before dumping the old and putting new stuff in, however, this time I'm thinking of dumping the old out first, putting some cheap oil in and running round the block - gently, and then adding the flush in to get rid of as much gunk as I can before putting the new stuff in - I've done this beofre, but not on my 300...Anyone got any 'Good god dont do that!' comments or ideas? …

Hi, Can anyone provide me with a Z parts catalogue. I have seen the Microfiche one on tt.net but SE have one where you just start clicking on areas of the car and parts and part numbers appear. Is there any way of putting more tension in the seat belt mechanism. My passanger seat belt doesn't seem to want to retract. Vijay

Guys, When you get your exhaust gutted or De-catted etc. Do you have any problems getting the car through the MOT? Especially if you have completely different setups running aswell with diff ECU's/chips etc.? ;-)

how do you adjust the idle speed, mine is currently running on the slow side, about 550 RPM to 600 i read that it should be 850+-50 rpm. idle is a bit lumpy at 600 RPM but when i put on the window fan the revs creep up to the correct RPM.

I've just whipped my plugs out to check their condition - I found they were Champion RC9YCC4. These don't sound right to me for some reason - aaaarrrrrggggghhhhhh!!!! Anyway, I've got a set on order form the z centre so they will be in the car asap. Has anyone seen these plugs before? Are they even "equivalent"? - I HATE that word!!! Any help much appreciated - I think this may even cure the hesitation but I'm not getting excited too early!!! Cheers in advance, Andy

Hi all, My Cruise Control has suddenly ceased working and will not activate when I press the 'SET' button on the steering wheel. I thought it could be a fuse, but there are NO fuses for the cruise control. Has anyone had a similair problem or can suggest where I should look ? Help very much appreciated.......Thanks. A.

Anyone got one in good condition? Mines cracked and the backing is peeling from the inside...

I have checked and replaced the bulb. Have even swapped the light unit with the passenger side one. Replaced the connectors. Here's where it gets wierd. There is 12V being switched on to the fog bulb but it doesn't light. The sidelight lights fine. The earth is shared between the sidelight and the fog bulbs. If the earth was bad the sidelight wouldn't come on... I have checked the fuse under the bonnet but couldn't find the fusebox in the interior (assume it's OK if there is one as one fog is on). There is a fog relay under the bonnet but can't easily test it. Any ideas? I've spent hours on this and getting nowhere! It's a '91 Jap TT.
