I bought my import 300ZX TT from Hallmarks in Thatcham about 6 weeks ago and have serious petrol consumption problems. Hallmarks have been great but just can't trace the problem. The Hallmarks tester shows that the emmissions are fine. I have tried running the car with a light foot (no turbo boost all week!!) and I still only get 12 mpg. The only engine problem I have experienced is when pulling away from stop the revs drop from 1000rpm to 500 and it nearly or actually cuts out. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, Can anyone give me an idea of how much I could sell my Jap 1990 2 seater NA for? It's done around 60K has has just had a new clutch. Condition is probably average to good. Cheers, Andy

I am not going to post this as if it catches on it will stop working. It is not bent, dodgy, dubious or any thing else. It reduced my quote from £2K for a 24 year old to £1K. Mail me, I'll mail you back then post your reactions/results. Don't forget, Mums the word!

Need a cheap part worn 225/50/16 S02 to tide me over until I get a complete set (my wheel alignment is screwed for deffo!) Would be OK if on a wheel as I have a few spares to do a swap. Essex/Herts area.

Has anyone ever taken their manual gaearbox apart and found a bush that isn't there. Cos last year I took my gearbox apart and found a bush just behind the rear oil seal. I removed it because it was completely worn to peices and then found that it was not on any diagrams anywhere. Nissan dealer told me that a new case was necessary so I bought a second hand one. Anyone come across this before?

You know you want to stick a Momo steering wheel or similar on your Z, but not only do you have to relocate your cruise controls (early Z'S) but the real problem is there is a Hicas sensor in the hub. Bummer! Having spoken with Peter at SE he is working on an aluminium hub which will allow Momo and other italian wheels with the same bolthole pattern to fit, and retain your Hicas. I am organising a grp buy. The more we get the cheaper should be the price. It should be less than £50 each. Let me know who's interested.

okay guys, i know this should be in the events section, but i thought i would cut down on the confusion on where to reply.... ;) current list of people that have said "aye" to TRAX track time. me warren hairsy andrew mark l trey nico jez john dan frith andyduff harve steve e thats 13 of us i think i have 3 non 300 people, but 2 definite. so we need about another 4 or 5 to get the 20 car price. also, please let me know how many entry tickets you want... IE how many people will be in your car when you arrive !! i will order a load of these as well. i can assume 2 per car to start with ? that adds 8 or 10 quid on …

Hi, I think it's about time I had the timing belt changed on my 90 NA SWB Z. The bloke that usually works on my Z says he doesn't want to touch it with a barge poll and said I should go to the Nissan dealer (St Martins in Box, Wilts). Is this good advice? Any idea of how much this is going to cost me? Can anyone recommend anyone in the Wiltshire area that would be able to do the job apart from the Nissan dealer? Cheers, Andy

Hi all After lengthy discussion, there is going to be a meet up at 10:30am on Sunday the 6th of May in Brighton along the seafront strip (take left at the palace pier roundabout (right on the seafront)) and take road right aong seafront). So far it should be quite a good turnout, also is somewhere where we could possibly bring kids etc and let thme go on the pier and stuff whilst we moan and groan over our motors. Be a good idea if possible to get some idea of number of people coming and who so we all know who to wait for etc. Dan

Does ne1 know the exact length of the prop shaft for a 1990 TT 2+2 Auto Jap spec? ....or have a spare shagged one can can be measured? I'm trying to get an ally one made from Powertrain. They think they have the correct measurements but they want me to check to be doubly sure. Makes sense really! Cheers Andy

First of all, thanks to Nico for the tip! Like many of you I've been experiencing strange movement in the rear of the car when going over bumps or even the painted lines on the road. The rear would swing a bit sideways totally unexpected. The culprit in my case was the HICAS rods being worn out at their ball joint. There was excessive play at the joint, so the rear wheel could turn a bit. To check if you've got the same problem, jack up the rear end of the car and try to turn the wheel by hand. If you are able to move the wheel, i.e. feel a play in the linkage, this is the problem. Cheers, Maciej

Ive just had to replace my front tyres because they scrubbed themselves bald on the inside. so i ask the guy to do a 4 wheel laser alignment to stop this happening again and he tells me that he cant do it because the front bumper is to low, so the beam hits the bumper and stops there. I tried to other places and got the same reply. Now I only have a standard bumper and im not lowered. anyone else had this problem and if so how did you sort it out. I don't fancy putting another pair on to soon.

Feedback needed... I've just been on TT.net to drag out some info on Mines ECU's. Some of the Aussie guys have mentioned that you need decent fuel for these ECU's otherwise you run the risk of detonation, and we all know where that can lead...BOOM! Have any of you guys run these ECU's over here in Blightey? If so how have you got on with them and what fuel do you use? Unleaded or Super??? CheerZ Tim ;-)
