This is quite timely really, what with the current rules in F1 being changed to allow this gadget too. Have you noticed how many engines have been self-destructing with this on? I did a bit of digging around and found that cutting the spark to the cylinder is the most common method as its the easiest to implement. Basically ( dunno if you already know :) ) as the system detects that the rear wheels are moving a % faster than the fronts (for rear wheel drive) the system then cuts spark to cylinders therfore reducing power to the wheels until they get grip back, then it feeds the spark back in again. Simple. Effective. Slightly dangerous to the engine though. You get…

Hi, it is me again. Looks likely that theyare going to write off my Z, so I was thinking of buying it back from them to sell on the parts as they are obviously quite hard to get and expensive too. So you all know. It was recently overhauled by Nissan in Epsom who did an outstanding job (then I stacked it after 1200 pounds worth of repairs). So, I just wanted to find out the general interest in it so that I could ask them, if no one wants anything from it then I wont bother probably but apart from the chasis and rear axle and right side, it is pretty immaculate :) Dan

On the 1st of April @ MK some members (sorry guys forgotten your post names) were disscusing the wear on there leather seats. But mine being as bad as they were, as possibly yours are, I had to do something about it. So - me thinking leather care stuff £££ etc, then the little woman suggested "kids shoe scuff" hhmm ok it cant get any worse! It has worked beyond belief! ! ! The two guys who saw the results now what they saw! It was put on that morning - and after waiting a month to see if it wears off - it doesn't. All those piping scuffs & white crease marks are still not visable at all. Bung it on watch it dry (30 sec) buff up, esay as that. I used "Kiwi l…

So, on Friday i Get the call "im phoning about your 300zx, is it still for sale?" Reluctantly i say ( gulp) "yes" next day it's gone. But me thinks what next? Must be at least as fast, must look like a ( real)sports car (no scooby looks). and most of all must be under £10k I could in the end get another Z, but it's a bit like shagging your old girlfriend, you no you will like it but you realy want something different. Toying with mitzy 3000gto ( i know Z'S are better but i haven't had one) or late toyota Supra. The supra is edging it. Ive enjoyed this Site, most of you will move on from your Z's. So what next. Hope I don't get bannished from the si…

All I've seen all weekend since Friday afternoon is 300'z. Not impressed as I'm still without mine...bummer! Anyway, was it you? Friday, about 13:00 at Vauxhall plant roundabout in Luton, gorgeous grey Z, think it was a TT with hugely nice back boxes, single tails not twins. Saturday outside Bill Smiths motorbike ship in Bangor, grey import with targa roofs off parked in front of the Oggie van, then to make it worse I come out of the bike shop and a red one pulls up with two lads in...then also same afternoon after picking my Merc up from ATS, testing out my new P7000's and passed the other way a lovely red K reg. All these Z's in North Wales, any of you lo…

It's very sad to hear of people like Dan crashing thier cars. Just remember Dan it's only a lump of metal. I'm glad both you and your family are OK. That's all that matters. Just a thought folks if none of you have ever lost the back end I would suggest you get some practice in, and soon! Lot's of power and rear wheel drive will produce lots of tail wagging action. My tip is to find an empty carpark after an April shower and have a go at stepping the back out and experimenting with opposite lock. You would be amazed how easy it is to balance the Zed in a power slide. The tip is to ease power in and out. Backing off in a tail slide is a bad thing t…

Just thought I would let you all know that yesterday (Sunday) I wrote my Z off. The classic of it being wet and losing it's back end in an awful way. It spun and hit a lamppost sideways making my car like a banana, the rear axle is bent and so is the chassis. Unfortunately on top of this I had all 3 kids in the car with me but fortunately they are all OK. Only thing I would say is after having mine for such a short period is, please be careful of those back ends in the wet, I know they are famous for it but the fact that I was lucky and could of lost my children yesterday brought it all sharply home to me. Anyway guys, I wont be getting another so all the best to you and …

I have a 91 UK 300zx which by the looks of it has the original wheels it was born with. I have looked up some companies who recondition wheels and they work out about 120 quid for a full set. Anyone had this done? What are the results like? Do they last? Thanks.
