Hi guys dont know if its of any interest but I have for many years used trade only suppliers for most of my cleaning gear ,oil, stereo gear etc I only very recently visited a retail store (Halford I think) I could`nt beleive the prices, after checking elsewhere I realised how much cheaper I have been buying my stuff. It may be that some of you already have trade accounts but if not is any one interested in me posting some prices? a group buy would be the best way to maximise discounts Let me know what oils and poilishes bulbs mats etc u use and prices. As a rule it seems as far as stereo head units, amplifiers and speakers go that what you pay in Halfords is double the tra…

http://dimensional.com/~mackys/z/ Stumbled across this guys site this afternoon, I was mainly interested in the explanation of the Z ignition system and how it works, aswell as things to check for when your idle is arse etc. I would say that this is a good site for people who are looking to buy and for those of us who aren't as technically knowledgeable about the 300. See what you think. CheerZ Tim ;-) 1991 UK 300ZX TT Auto. Current Status: M.I.A.

Has anyone found dampness/water coming from the boot area after a heavy shower. Well I hope not, but if you do read this ... Initially thought it was a worn rubber seal which goes around the rear window. My first remedy was to put some sealant in places which looked a bit dodgy, but still the problem persisted. This weekend I had the time to remove all the inner trim under the boot hatch. I actually got into the car closed the boot and got my brother to fetch a watering can and hose the whole area. To my surprise it wasn't coming from the window seal but actuall from where the windscreen wiper mechanism enters the hatch. There is a rubber washer on the out…

Only just discovered this forum from a post on the GTR forum about track time at Trax2001 so sorry it very short notice... The UK Supra Owners Club have organised a Airfield/Trackday through www.bookatrack.com at Bentwaters, nr Ipswich, on Sun 20 May 2001 for £89 per car. We currently have a few places left but I'm sure a few Supras will pull out before the event leaving a little more room for other cars. Any over the maximum will be put in the reserves section until people drop out, all places are first come first served. To join up goto www.bookatrack.com Create an account (if you haven't got one) and add your car to your "garage" then lo…

GuyZ, Just thinking about what else we drive, bikes, 4x4, MPV's etc. etc. Name it and shame it here... I've got a Range Rover Vogue SE which me woman drives around in, actually resembles the inside of a barn(we've got horses!), a Lancia HPE which has sat on my drive for the last two years and me Merc Cossie which is used for work. Am currently 2/3's of the way through my bike test CBT, written test etc. And hoping to be a complete muppett on passing and trying as hard as possible to kill myself on my nice shiney Honda Blackbird(dreams). So come on then, what have you lot got lurking in your garages??? Tim ;-) 1991 UK 300ZX TT A…

Hi guys, my first posting, although I've been reading this excellent forum for the last month and have parted with lots of cash for an 89 TT auto. The problem happened late last night, after a long drive back from Brighton. I was cruising slowly back along A roads (I even let 2 Peugeots overtake me so I wasn't pushing it) and suddenly there was a noise and the car instantly dropped its speed a bit. I couldn't tell what sort of noise it was as the stereo was on pretty loud. I instantly pulled to the side of the road, got out and checked over the car. I then tried to drive forwards and I got the sound of metal on metal, as if my exhaust pipe was dragging along the gro…

Hi all, anyone heard of this.... After about 10 minutes of driving (once the engine is running at normal temp), I get a very annoying squeal at slow speed coming from the the passenger front corner by the wheel. It gets louder if you turn the steering wheel to the left, and goes a bit quieter when turning to the right. It sounds as if the pads are sticking to the brake discs, but having checked them they seem okay. Could it be related to sort of CV joint going dry?? Any ideas???? CheerZ Chris

Sorry guys, Don't want to be a winge bag...but...I'm getting really f**ked off now! You people are all driving around in your lovely Z machines, with your T-bar roof panels off! Where is my car? Stuck at SE waiting to be fixed...ohhhh the despair, I can't take much more of this. My car has been off the road now since before Crimbo, why can't these garages(Nissan main dealers etc.) and specialists sort it out? A few months ago I was joking with friends that it would be so nice if I could get my car back on the road in time to have the roof off! What a joke, joke is on me obviously!!! LOL... Satan is farting in my face big time! All I have is a memory, a…

I lurk around the Z32 websites smugly thinking how lucky I am that my Z has never let me down. Saturday, the Sun's out I think, tops off and away I go. No such luck, I turn the key and - nothing. It transpires that my 6 month old battery is down to 8 volts (don't know why, I didn't leave anything switched on). The battery charger won't touch it so I jump start it and go for a blast thinking it'll charge up ok, the voltmeter showing a healthy 14 volts. I drove about twenty miles or so and stopped for refreshments. I return to the car turn the key and - nothing. I had to call a friend to come out and jump start me. whether it's associated or not I don't know but on the way …

Just thought I would update you guys on how my uni-chip ecu upgrade is performing. Unfortunatley since my Zed has had this installed it is not what I would call 100%. To be fair it has made a hell of an improvement on the performance, as soon as the car reaches 3500 RPM it certainly forces you in the seat!!. The change it made in the speed is quite impressive. HOWEVER, it has made it run considerably rougher and does not idle as well as it did before the upgrade. It is very had to determin if this idle problem is down to the chip or to the other upgrades made after the chip was installed ( e.g. stright through exhaust ). I think I will give it a few more weeks and maybe l…
