I have had good results from the EBC 'green' pads on one of my other cars. I am going to have to renew the discs and pads on my '90 z32 TT - experienced scarry brake fade! Has anyone on group had any experience of EBC pads on 'our' cars or know where in the UK is the best place to buy discs from?

Well, the car has done it again ... Was in London yesterday and 3 minutes into my journey back home (B'ham)when the engine overheated. I already suspected something was wrong because the hesitation I normally experience on pickup from stationary was extreme (i.e., when moving foot from brake to gas the rpms dropped to the point of stalling prior to catching). Anyway, called Polesworth Garage to see what they think (I just spent £700 replacing my waterpump and timingbelt with them last weekend ...) They reckon it could be a headgasket, timing or electrical problem. Not feeling much better at this point ... Called the AA who sent over a very knowledgable guy who performed a…

Having only installed 2 days ago a web server running windows 2000/IIS5 and not having had a chance to patch we have been infected with the .ida "Code Red" Worm. Having looked thru the MS site and eEye there seems to be a little confusion as to whether we need to do a clean re-install. Any of you guys know if a re-boot and patch is sufficient? It look as if it only runs in memory. More details at http://www.eeye.com/html/Research/Advisories/AL20010717.html F***ing Arse Cheers Martin

Working in the West End has its pluses!! HMV on Oxford Street just had a giant launch party for Gran Turismo 3. There was a queue of several hundred people waiting (first 50 get the wheel free). Loads of free t-shirts and keyrings being handed out. 2 Page 3 girls arrive in a Honda S2000 with GT3 logos all over it. 5 minutes later, the creator of the Gran Turismo game arrived in the same S2000. The band Feeder (who do the title track) were inside HMV playing. If you beat them at the game, you get a free, signed album. I got to speak to the guy who made GT3 and get this, 2 of his favourate cars: Ferrari 355 Spyder and the Nissan Fairlady!!!! Good taste. I c…

Has anyone worked out the Mph per 1000 Rpm figures for an auto Z32 TT? Through the gears, I have the figures for the manual, as published in Autocar in May 1990. My speedo is reading about 12% low! and I need to check against the revs. If anyone has I'd love to know.

Received camera letter from police today. Dual cariageway around the town 30mph. Sneaky bill taking pics from a van. I was doing 36.. What a joke. They should speend time pulling joyriders and murderers not 6mph over the limit.

Leigh, mate, I'm not ignoring you, been on a training course and you know what Nortel training rooms are like - jack all access to the Big Wide World (including e-mail) and won't be back in the office until Tuesday next week - will give you a ring then.

Hello guys, I get steering wheel vibration when braking and I've seen in other posts that this would probably be caused by warped discs. If this is the case, why do I only get vibrations some of the time? Vijay

There's been talk about insurance companies yet again recently, and although I can't give advice on which to opt for... I can tell you 3 to stay well clear from ! They gave the best prices at the time, but they've screwed me over relentlessly ! I've even got one of the numbers for complaints on the memory dial ! Prestige Insurance: Screwed up my cover, they don't know which each department is doing, as I was constantly getting bad letters with contradicting information after the manager has told me on the phone that the problem is sorted. I've been with them for 3 years....had no claims...and yet only have the first year no-claims bonus that I joined them with. H…

What a crack-up! Watching the afore mentioned last night, quite late, must have been on about 1am. Anyway, basically it was a documentary following some of these kids with their cars and going to Cruises with them. Max power guyZ were also going to photo. lads getting their arses out, but more importantly, girls getting their "Coal Pits" out! LARGE! But that wasn't the best bit, best bit was this girl goes to this Southend cruise with her mate. Now this lovely young lassy has an A reg Astra which she bought for £700 and has now spent over 4K on it! Not only that, but the sodding thing was a 4 dr. aswell...SAD! But each to their own! She's stood there with her ma…

The turbo gauge on my zed has stopped working. I have looked to see if any pipes are hanging off but they all seem to be in place!. The gauge just reads 0 and does not move. Any thoughts guys on what else I should check?. The car does not appear to go any slower, it still has a great deal of kick to it. I would be appreciate any ideas! Cheerz Simon H

My Z has failed the MOT at my local grease monkey on the following: No Rear Fog Light - The guy couldn't find the switch! Derrrr. Both Front Tie Bar Bushes Split - Told me they did one of these recently and it was a ridiculous price. He's getting me a quote together. What price are the bushes and what's involved in changing them? Fuel Leak - I knew about this and traced it myself tonight to save cash. It's the rubber pipe leaking at both ends that is directly beneath the throttle cable pulleys at the front of the engine under the Nissan plastic cover. Seems to join the fuel rails that do a U-turn between both banks of the V. Needs replacing but looks like l…

What should I look for in the way of any teltail nasty sighns that the car is a duff? Thanks for any help you can give. Nick.

I hope you guys know what I'm talking about cos some Nissan garages don't. I'm talking about the plastic engine undercarriage which seems to be in 4 parts. I want to get them changed (I've got the chance to do it through insurance) and when I ask Nissan parts departments, some say that dont know what it is and some say there is just one part. Can anyone confirm if it would come in 4 parts and the where I could get the part numbers, I've looked in the manual and on TT.net/fiche, but can't seem to find them. Cheers Vijay

Eric mate, I recently got an ASP underdrive pulley and belts from GR(Phuong) stateside. He asked me about how many grooves my cars belts have got, I couldn't tell him coz I don't have my car back. So I rang Nissan dealer, they told me that the belts should have 4 bits sticking up which should equate to 3 grooves. Mines a 91 TT but 2+2 UK model, your red one is 91 TT 2 seater. But does your pulley take the 3 groove belts aswell? Installation sheet I got with it does state for 90-94 300ZX and Maxima aswell. If you get a chance could you just have a quick look at yours and let me know? CheerZ Tim ;-) P.S. I am fairly sure …
