Posted this on the huge JAE thing as well, but just in case anybody has got bored with that thread... I won't be joining you lot at Rothersthorpe Service Station tomorrow. Extenuating circumstances and all that... yadda, yadda, flarn, ding. I will endeavour to come up to Billing at some point tomorrow, but if I don't make it, hope everyone has a good time... I just wanted to know if the only way to re-set your ecu, is to disconnect the battey for 1/2 hour, or is there a quicker way? Also, when cleaning the sensor connectors around the engine bay, does it matter if the battery is connected or not? Cheers Vijay

Used my zed for the first time in three weeks this morning and had a cruise from the Isle of Wight to work in Winchester. On leaving Portsmouth I had this middle aged dude come hammering up behind me in a P reg merc 500sl convertable. Pulled into middle lane and let the guy level off with me.....let the twin turbos kick in as he went to go past!... Before they set in not much differance between the two... but..F##K ME...was he shocked to see me pull away from him with some ease. This is the only car I have had where you forget how much performance you have in reserve!. With the engine mods I made on this thing the power it has still surprises me even now. The guy l…

Mornin' all! I have scoured all forums but failed to find a solution (could possibly be because of a very late and boozy night ...) My Jap import autobox beeps when put in reverse. I thank God that it isn't audible outside of the car but inside you'd think you're driving a bigrig! Anyone know how to disengage this? Also, how do I know whether my tranny has been fitted with a cooler? Anything in particular to look for ... my trans. tunnel gets scorching hot ... me thinks I ain't got no cooler. How much to buy/install and where can I get one? Many thanks for your thoughts. Cheers! Danny ----- Jumping up and down because I get my Zed back tomorrow!

Chaps, More specifically SteveE and Maceij, because I believe you have Techtoms, (though not Tim because he doesn't have a car!). Having tried out my brand new toy on the drive home today I have noticed two things and I wonder whether it's the same on yours. Firstly, the second Air Flow Meter (AFM2)voltage displays nothing, the first one is OK, I presume this is because there is no second voltage to report ? Secondly, the Intake Temp (ITEMP) reports nothing, this is a little more curious as I thought the ECU had a sensor and would need to know the air temp. Lastly, and this is just an observation, the Techtom speed display in Kph corresponds to my sp…

Just saw this way of putting the ecu into diagnostics: http://www.twinturbo.net/ttnetfaq/FAQpages/ECUdiagnostics.html Also, does the car have to be at normal driving temps to run succesfull diagnostics, The reason I ask is in Henri Le Hir's instructions on how to bypass the detonation senor, he says "As an insufficient engine temperature can trigger a fail safe mode as well, you need to have a warm engine" Is this trhe case?? Ajay's car has got heated leather seats, mine hasn't! Matty's has! Shall I continue like this? No! OK! Mine is a 91 UK TT Auto. Ajay's is a 93 Man. TT UK spec. So who else has the luxury of having a warm arse come Winter time then? I thought that Ajays' car was unique as it had been previously owned by some top brass geeZer in Nissan UK. But Mat the Lad is a complete scally, womanising brummy geeZer, and he's got them...LOL! So what's the score here? Tim ;-) P.S. My Capt. Kirk has them, and they still work after 173,000 miles of arse treatment...and they have two settings, rapid and normal...nerrrr!
