On the way back from Knockhill at the weekend I was heading down the A1 towards the English border (single carriageway 60 limit) in very heavy rain when I noticed a metallic blue Nissan Almera GTI up my arse. Anyone who has driven the upper A1 will know there are speed cameras every few hundred yards so I was sticking to the limit though mainly due to the weather. This guy just had to get past me no matter what and he nearly went head on into 2 trucks so I was thinking what a wanker. Next time he tried to get past on a long straight he got a good run up but I floored it and left him standing in the middle of the road. Did this 2 more times and he was looking most up…

My import has a modified ECU but I haven't found anybody who has been able to identify what the chip is (just a ROM with Jap writing on it) I know the car is putting out more power than standard but with the Jap guages it's tricky making comparisons. I have a K&N cone intake and HKS drager exhaust and want to up the power. How do you go about upping the boost etc in this case (new known ECU?). How is boost increased? By the ECU settings alone or do I have to use some sort of boost controller/bigger injectors etc? Simple for you "tool jockeys" i'm sure... LOL

...It was 1990, and I was driving through Birmingham in a company Astra.I had seen pictures in car magazines of the new Zed...But nothing prepared me for seeing one in the metal! It was cruising through the rush hour traffic looking modern, mean and moody.I think it was metallic grey...and had steam wisping from the quad exhaust pipes in the slow moving traffic. I thought..at £35K I will never be able to own one of those beauties! All the other drivers were craning their necks to see it, and passers by were doing a double take!...some things never change! With all this talk about insurance, is there any way we could set up a database giving drivers details, location, UK or Jap car insurance co. and quoted premium. The MR2 club do this and I think that we might find it useful, check it out: http://www.imoc.co.uk/insurance/insurance.asp?MenuID=8 http://www.imoc.co.uk/insurance/InsurerDetails.asp?ID=57 What you think? YES! I finally got my rear tyres sorted today. Ordered a pair of S-O3's from MichelDever and they promptly arrived this afternoon. Got me new alloys (from Holland) down to the local ATS and they look the business! Very happy. One problem though ... The rims I got in Holland (stock euro spec rears) are a different colour than the ones that were on there. They are darker grey metallic and I actually think they look much better than the stock ones I have on the front. Does anyone know if you can colour the alloys and if so, where can it be done/can I do it myself, etc ... As always - very grateful for your feedback. Later! Dan

Just been to get my car washed at the IMO car wash thing and to my suprise I was mobbed by 6 blokes in flared boiler suits, platform shoes and all spoting El Tooley type afro's!! I have not laughed that much in ages, they told me to chill, relax and unwind while they took my car and cleaned it up. My car is spotless, even done the alloys in the hard to reach bits!! All for £6 too, am mighty impressed! Anywho..... ....am off to earn me some millions, I tell you Rodney (Tim) stick with me and I'll make you a millionaire.... Or just a couple of rabbits at least... ..LMAO Matty. ------------------

Hi guy's, just purchased my first ever 'Z' '91 J UK TT manual with leather, covered a lot of miles though but with a fsh from nissan, what a car drives brilliantly. I just noticed that the water pump is buggered, not leaking just a lot of play in the shaft, so may as well do the timing belt while I'm here. Also the idle sometimes when I come to a stop stays at about 1500rpm and wont drop back down. So switch off, restart and all is well again??????? any idea's would be greatly apprieciated. P.s my nissan dealer told me there is no gasket for the water pump or inlet/outlet pipes is this true???????

GuyZ, we all know that BlitZ, HKS, Mongoose etc. etc. etc. do a decent system for our cars. But...I was thinking about other exhaust manufacturers, I made some enquiries about Sebring the other day but they don't do anything for ours, which is arse considering they supply Porch etc. Do any of you know of any other makes besides the usual run of the mill that will go on a 300??? Tim ;-)
