Well, the honeymoon period is over: its taken nearly a year of ownership but I finally have my first engine problem... If any expertZ want to get their teeth into this it'd be much appreciated! Okay, the car's been at the doctors for two weeks getting a new aircon compressor and regas. When I picked it up today, the first thing I notice after getting a few minutes down the road is that the HICAS light is coming on when I corner. (It did this for a little while a few weeks ago, but stopped when I put a little TQD in the resevoir). As I'm heading out of London towards the M3 I start noticing that the idle is a bit lumpy and that the revs occasionally fluctuate. Pr…

After having the engine taken out and back in the aircon clutch is not engaging. I think its electrical. Does anyone know where the wires connect to. I found a black earth wire hanging off the compressor but it looks like its been hanging there for years - loads of corrosion and crap on it. Is there a fuse? how can you test the relay? Mines a 90. cheers

Since fitting my boost controller I sometimes hear a spooky WHOOOOOOOOO noise under boost (no laughing!!) Seems to do it even with the boost down at about 11/12psi and it doesn't sound like detonation from the descriptions i've heard from you guys. Any ideas? Could it be an air leak somewhere although it doesn't seem to lose power?

Ok I got about 7 minutes of film *ho ho fnarr* of the 300zx and Supra track time. I was filming from the stand that most people were watching from and filmed the mad corners before the main pit lane straight. Got a couple of good clips of psycho nutter b*stard in the Carlton (nice bloke hehe). Trouble is its 80meg mpeg (compressed down from 1.7gb DV Avi) - does anyone know how I can compress it down further, to a more z32.org-dump friendly size?? There are a couple of funny bits, like when the plank in the black soopra went the wrong bloody way out of the traps (doink didnt anyone mention this on mkiv.net hehe) and the Seven going round the corners like they were n…

One of my washers seem to dribble rather than squirt water. I think that it is the little things on the bonnet. Where can I get replacments for them and does anyone know how much? Stuart

Erm.. Left my lovely Z alone for three weeks whilst away on biz in the US, and when I started her (second crank) she was VERY lumpy and sounded like she was missing for a about half a minute or so, gave a gentle blip (after about a min at idle), and then she was fine. BUT the TAPPY noise has'ant gone away, oil pressure is between 2-3 on the (jap) gauge and doesan't seem to move too much whatever! (not unusual for my car) No smoke, but apart from the 'ticking' everything else seems OK! HELP!! ANY IDEAS GUYS? Went to have the centre section of the exhaust replaced today, so now ALL I can hear is the bloody Ticking! Sounds pretty load from under the car too!

Hi Guyz, If you read one of my previous postings you will know that I've been to see my supplier for the clothing. In my posession I not only have the 2nd batch of clothing, so if you've been waiting, it's on the way. But, I also have a couple of sample jackets. The jackets would be a higher value item, approx £110 - £130. At present I would offer 2 styles in various colours. Before I go too far down this road what is the feeling? Anyone seriously interested? I'm probabally looking at them being embroydered in a couple of places this time; potentially on the left hand breast, upper arm and poss. across the yoke at the back. I'll post a number of p…

Oh dear..Oh dear I have just finished reading (and throughly enjoying)the thread on the supra forum where our very own Mr Turbo makes his grand enterance. There they all were having polite chit chat when WHAM! in comes Timmy with his unique style and flair and creates a new world record by offending the most people with only two posts. Looking at their forum I dont think they have come across anyone like Mr Turbo before and certainly didnt know how to take him. And you got told off BIG STYLE Timmy old chap Just incase anyone missed it...... ********** Timmy, This maybe a chit chat area but we still try to use good English and manners. Ple…

Some of you may have seen this some of you may not. This is basically a 10Gb hard drive for the car, it holds about 3000 tracks and can be used with any existing car radio. Music is downloaded from your PC then stuck in the car. It`s smaller than any CD changer and works with an FM modulater set up. The small display unit is about the same size as an AVC-r (for those of you with one) approx 4"x2" These units are being sold for around £500-£550.00, I can do them at £450.00 with postage if you are interested. www.my-mstation.com for more details. I was talking to the Tec guy at Snooper the other day and he mentioned about places to mount the radar detectors. Some that are mounted towards the bottom of the dash but removed for security reasons leaving the suckers in place have been known to mark the dash, as the suckers act as a small prism and can burn the dash!! So, if you have them move them up a bit or remove the suckers when you take it out of the car!! Bob
