I'm going to replace my standard exhaust system with a stainless steel sports jobbie sometime next year. 1st choice at the moment is a Magnex one (twin 3" pipes each side). I'm looking for an increase in the "base" at idle and a nice howl when I put my foot down (but nothing too OTT). Mines a Jap import TT auto (1990). Anyone got any recommendations?

Hi all I,m new to this forum & to 300ZX's. I'm looking to buy one & could do with some advice. I've seen a 93' TT manual for sale which I had a quick look at yesterday - Bodywork & Interior seem excellent but its done over 110000 miles - is this a problem & what should I look out for mechanically? Also - what are parts prices & availability like? & how easy/difficult is the engine/car to work on? Thanks Neil

On deciding to re-paint my alloys this weekend, I noticed while the rear ass was airborne that the drivers side wheel has a lotta play in it mostly from side to side. From what I can see it looks like the tie rod arm off the hicas, the bush joint that joins to the hub is moving. Any ideas if I can buy a bush kit or is it all new hub required????? anyone can help it'll be very much apprieciated cheers Jonny................

I've mentioned this before but I have a bad leak somewhere at the front from the power stearing. It's getting really bad now and leaves a trail of fluid whenever i'm on full lock. I'm having to fill the reservoir from empty every 2 days now and i've spent a packet on fluid over the last few months. I'm sure it's going to be a faulty hydraulic hose and i'm going to get it properly checked out this week by a garage. Does anyone know a cheap source of these pipes? Somebody said you have to buy a complete power stearing system from Nissan (!!£!!) - is this right? Help!

There was a post about a solution to our poor Headlights coming up in the Max Power magazine with Peugeot 206 headlights fitted to a 300ZX. Apologies if I missed any posts, but I came across the following site with a scan: http://www.crosswinds.net/~vectornut/trippyz.html (I wish I knew how to put a hot-link in)! From a post on tt.net: "Mods include such things as Peugeot 206 headlights, Supra taillights, Porsche GT2 side repeaters and spotlights, WV Sharon filler cap, Impreza WRX rear spoiler, Strosek rear bumper with Rover 400 plate surround, all painted Alfa 156 blue". Not sure about the Rover bit!!!!!! Geoff

Thank's guys, the difference between a tick and a knock is small to the ear but large to the pocket as I understand it! My heart is telling me it's a loud tick, but my head is saying knock! With the engine at idle, I disconnected one coil at a time to see if the noise went away (if so - indicating to me that it would prob have been a rod bearing) it did not - phew! I will try the flush/oil change thing and take it easy to see if that works! Am I going to break anything if I keep (calmly)driving it though?

I just REALLY got into Z's since only recently I had the funds, and resources to obtain one, but I don't see many 300z's in any car magazines anymore, I was wondering what some of the good quarter mile times for the Z.

Anyone seen or purchased the above red TT 2+2UK spec car in the last 4-6 weeks? I wrote it off in May - and now I know for sure it's re-surfaced in the Fulham & Hammersmith area!

So, if the knocking/ticking sound does'ant go away - at all - ever - should I be afraid - very afraid? What's it likely to be - goes ok! Sounds like a VERY noisy tappet!!

Was watching Car Wars on BBC last night... Anyway, turns out that whilst watching a flock of T-5's chase a nice Porch(with a BBQ on the back at 55mph) 911 Carrera 4(are they upto now?)through the motorway madness, that the chopper was struggling to keep up!!! LMFAO! Haapparently the cop chops can only max. at about 130mph and if the wind farts in their direction they suffer big time! So, sleep safe at night knowing that if yer Z gets nicked and you've delimited it and the traffic conditions are good e.g. no fucker about...see ya! Most forces now rely on the "eye in the sky!" so they tend to back off once they know that the chopper is in hot pursuit! …

An Nissan 300zx TT owner called Tim pulled alongside a Toyota Supra Mk4 at a traffic light. "Do you have a car phone?" Tim asked the guy in the Supra. "Of course I do," replied the haughty Toyota driver. "Well, do you have a GPS and Sat Nav?" The driver in the Supra sighed. "I have that too, of course" "Then do you have a double bed in the back?" the 300zx driver wanted to know. Ashen-faced, the Supra driver sped off. That afternoon, he had a mechanic install a double bed in his motor. A week later, the Toyota driver passes the same 300zx , which is parked on the side of the road-- windows all fogged up and steam pouring out. The arrogant driver pull…
