I made sure my drainage holes were clear from the T top area today and I just wanted to know if there's supposed to be actual holes at the bottom somewhere cos the water came out from the seam on the bottom of the car? Vijay

Sorry - I just had to tell someone... My Z (which has been up on axle stands for 4 months while I replaced the water pump) moved, under it's own steam today. Not hesitation either! And an ECU code 55! Life don't get much better... Oh boy is it good to be back. The Rover 214 didn't really cut it... JonnyC - Belfast

This is my second 300ZXTT, my first being a UK car with manual gearbox, my current car is a Jap import with automatic gearbox. Odly, I've had the same problem with both cars. The aircon seems to blow out warm air (really quite warm!) when set to minimum temperature (10 degrees C). After a while, I do get cooler air but only at about ambient temperature. Any ideas what's wrong?

hiya, sorry i haven't been about too much lately, had plenty of other things to contend with lately. good to see even more new members, including Dazz, a very valuable resource for the forum, believe me. 1) have caught up with most of the posts, and like the idea of a forum dedicated to posting latest prices paid for specific parts etc. idea posted by ManicTT on 3/9 as long as you can all police yourselves and just post the required info, then that sounds cool to me. so the topic would be the part, and you post replies which are the prices and supplier ? 2) also, have thought again about having a specific technical questions forum. i enjoy …

I've got the Snooper SLD 920 (thanks Bob) and managed to fix the two laser heads to the underside of the front vent (in the rain) but how on earth do I connect the wires from the engine bay to the cabin without removing the whole dash and engine. It's bloody tight in there. Does anyone know of an easy way to run the wires into the cabin without too much hardwork???? Cheers, Van

Spent another afternoon working on the car.. Went to Halfords, and invested in a 3tonne speedlift hydraulic jack - I can highly recommend them.. However - take a mate with you.. I can barely lift it on my own! (The back end of the Renault went down about 2" when I put it in the boot, it's *that* heavy).. My top tip for jacking the car up - drive the front onto some 2x4" planks, then the jack goes straight under the front, onto the crossmember and jack in the middle Changed the oil (Mobil1 15w50), oil filter, and fuel filter.. Sliced my hand open nicely doing that one! Started the car up and within about 5 seconds the tappets all shut up nicely Love…

Right, when u fire up ma Z u get about 4 kg/cm2 oil pressure. Bu if u rev the tits off it it goes down to just under 2 kg/cm2 and (when idle again) and it goes up and down the guage a bit. Whats going on is it supposed to do that?

Hi All. A while back I posted info on a problem i was having on the stability of my Z. The problems seemed to be from the rear. The mechanic has now checked the car and found play on the passenger side rear wheel. HE reckons it's the rear stearing rack? Is this a likely source of the problem? I have sourced a rear steaking rack from a local jap engine breaker. My car is a 93TT (UK), whereas the rack is of a 91TT Import. Are they the same?

Hi Guy's My Auto Gearbox is giving up the ghost, ok in first and second but doesn't drive when switching to third. Phoned local Transmission dealers and they are quoting £850+vat fitted, for a Re-conditioned box. Does this sound reasonable and has anybody had a re-con box fitted, are you happy with it. Any info much appreciated. Cheers Dave.

One day God calls down to Noah and says "Noah me old china, I wants you to make me a new Ark". Noah replies, "No probs God, me old Supreme Being, anything you want after all you're the boss". God then adds - "Ah but there's a catch this time Noah, I want not just a couple of decks, I want 20 decks one on top of the other". "TWENTY DECKS!", screams Noah, "TWENTY DECKS! ... Well, OK Big Man, whatever you say, should I fill it up with animals just like last time?" "Yep, that's right, well ..... sort of right.......this time I want you to fill it up with fish" God answers. "Fish?" Queries Noah, stunned. "FISH?" "Yep, fish ... …

Just tested the car with the speed convertor removed.. Pulls like a train all the way up to an indicated 185kph at which point the limiter cuts in (very odd feeling.. it's so soft you'd hardly notice it apart from the fact that you're not getting any faster anymore).. Perhaps a busy dual carriageway wasn't the best place to test it mind you Nobody seemed to mind... Then again, I imagine it was something like; "What the hell is that coming up the outside lane?" "Dunno dear, it looks li..." "Too late, he's gone"

my Z's been acting up today, when I was sitting in traffic the idling started to get all lumpy and even when the engine was revved it still done the same. It carried on doing it even when I moved off but after about 30 seconds of driving it stops. Any ideas what could be causing it? I thought plugs, but they were changed about 20k miles ago. Vijay

Anyone know where i'm best off starting to try and find a set of UK clocks? I tried www.intapart.co.uk already and they never came back (so can't have had the parts).. Johnny at GPS? Luke a the Z Centre? Anywhere else? Cheers.. I just removed the dodgy 6 wire speed convertor (that was, I believe, buggering up the speed sensor wire to the ECU(s)) so I want a set of UK clocks (and I'll need to get a JWT ECU to remove the speed limiter I assume? Failing that, are there speed convertors available that actually *work*? ------------------ Az

Spent the afternoon removing the dash and taking off the speed convertor, which I've now done, and the A/T light no longer flashes at me merrily.. I noticed that the importers/a garage had removed the HICAS warning lamp - guess why? Coz it was on permenantly... Topped up the PS fluid with some Dexron III and it's gone out... I wonder if their speed convertor was causing the HICAS lamp to come on as well as buggering up the speed signals to the ECU? Anyway.. in the process my boost gauge has stopped working Buggered if I can work out which pin on which connector it is - does anyone know? I *think* it's the second pin down on the inside side of the top left (loo…

Ahhh. I got a puncture in one of my back tyres. They where Khumo, not bad but had so took a long time to wear down but not the best grip. Any way, the side wall split, dont know how, later told by the tyre place that I nail was in the tyre and as it went down pierced the side wall. So I my friend frantically phone round for tyres, because I was stuck in Salford changing my wheel. No one had 245/45/16 in stock becuase it is an unusuall size, and they all said it would take time to get them. I needed them ASAP. The spare wheel was not stable to say the least. Phoned Pemberton Tyres, the only thing they had in that size was the Bridgestone S02. So now I have Bridgestone all …

Thanks guys, and thanks to all the Forum members who helped me correctly diagnose and treat my (what turned out to be a) sticky lifter or two. The flush trick worked fine. My car is now purring like the tomcat that it is, thanks to all of you. Once again, many thanks.
