Hey guys, Following on from a post I placed in late December ( http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/ubbforum/Forum1/HTML/004638.html ) with regards to a detonation problem that I was having, I have finally today found the time to perform a full ECU diagnostic. For those of you who can't remember the contents of that earlier thread, let me give you a very brief overview: My car is experiencing what I perceive to be detonation when accellerating very lightly at speeds of 40-70 mph and between 2500-3500rpm. A previous ECU diagnostic showed a code 34: detonation sensor circuit fault. The car started doing this approximately 2 months after I bought it and only does it whe…

As you are all aware, or should be aware, comments were posted recently which resulted in a thread that was very detrimental towards TDI plc. In response to those comments TDI plc contacted us, as site owners and administrators, to express their concerns about the posts which, as a business, is perfectly fair and within their rights to do so. Despite our subsequent request no documentary evidence was forthcoming from any of the thread contributors in support of their comments against TDI plc which therefore we can only assume must be completely unsubstantiated. Consequently TDI plc may well have lost business due to the comments made and appear to be the in…

I’m after some help and advice, I’d like to buy a 300zx, not even sure if a Manual or auto is required – does anyone have any info on the differences between (apart from the obvious)- I currently have a 1995 N/A Supra and am looking for a bit more welly (used to have a 3000GTO twin turbo but the insurance was a bit of a farce). I’ve always like the look of them and my mind is made up (gotta rid myself of the Supra first if anyone wants it). So basically I’m after as much info about the cars as possible, i.e. known problems etc. Any advice would be appreciated. Matt [This message has been edited by MattUSM (edited 22-01-2002).]

Hi Guyz, Does anybody have a good picture of the headlight backend, where the bulb inserts. If someone can put it on this thread or send it to my email address they would be great. I am trying to arrange a HID set up from the guy supplying the H3C bulbs I have ordered. He needs the picture to tell wether it can be done or not. Leigh.

The indicators on my car have stopped working. The hazards work fine and the flasher on the indicator stick works fine. I think it may be a fuse issue but am not sure what fuse I need to replace? I could not see a fuse(s) for the indicator under the bonnet in the main box, or have I over looked something?

hi guys, ive recentley noticed that my power light keeps flashing when i start the car, ive counted the number of flashes and i think its 15 times. i know someone else has already posted something about the power light, but after reading it iam still not sure if mine has the same problem as the symptons are different. my speedo still works, but the small odometer (the one which only goes to 9999) displays in kph and not mph. also the stering wheel has gone off centre and slifgtly to the right, the steering seem realy heavy as well. i think it might be the speedo converter is there any way of checking, or if anyone has any other suggestions on what it might …

I've not long since fixed one hesitation problem (which took months to find!) now there's another one! The previous problem was due to the fuel pump voltage regulator being faulty which I replaced & then the car was fine for months. It seems to idle rough at tickover & the power delivery is somewhat uneven but I don't think it's a spark problem cos the engine just cut out the other day as if I'd run out of juice! Has anyone out there had similar problems? Shaun [This message has been edited by shaunmac (edited 22-01-2002).]

just been looking at all different types of gauges and noticed most of these air/fuel ratio gauges say they use the standard oxygen or lambda sensor on the car. Does the Z have such a thing or do you need to add it to the exhaust yourself? Paul

Having a look around for some replacement rear tyres and have used the tyre calulator on the ZED workshop disc and discovered my rear tyres are throwing my speedo out.(under-reading) I presently have 255x45x17" fitted and to be as close as damit to the original Nissan rolling diameter I need 285x35x17" My wheels are 10" wide according to the wheel info stamped on the side so should fit ok,in fact always thought the one`s on looked stretched out to the rim edge-ish. Have looked on a couple of sites and had no luck any one know of a supplier for this size? Thanks guys. Jeff TT

No i haven't any, touch wood! But if you get a puncture in a sidewall! I had it before on the Monza, - most places will not fix it rather sell you another tyre, is there anywhere the members reading this can say a place that will fix them, either by the big plug method or vac-melt method. Could be 'andy for us all! harve
