Remind me not to vent my frustrations with life on the car (or forum members, sorry Stuart, Ajay). Remember that new loom I was installing, and nearly finished?... ;

Since my run in with Nissan over the weekend, it got me thinking as to whether along with my letter of complaint I should also note to them about our forum here. First of all Administrators. If you feel that this is a bad idea, full stop, them please mail me or post. Now I don't intend to go in all guns blazing, what I had in mind was a no nonsence, to the point and honest letter about what we are about, how many there are of us and if there was any way that they would be able to offer us preferential treatment. Sounds like a tall order I know, but I'm sure that it would be in the interest of Nissan for them to know what our experiences have been with regar…

HI, Just to let you know that I've now sold two thirds of the parts from my dismantled 300ZX. I have made a list of what is left and how much I want for them. I've had to guess most of the prices, so if anything seems a bit too much, feel free to let me know. The list of parts for sale is in the "FOR SALE/WANTED" section. Obviously I hope you don't need to look at the list too often ;-) AndyZ

After seeing all the various TDi posts, it strikes me that Craig & Nico are getting a hell of a lot of grief over comments made by other people. From a combination of various data protection comments & particularly Nathan from TDi's post, it seem that "the administrators" are being held responsible because TDi don't know IP addresses and therefore can't get in touch with people who they're unhappy with. With the amount of work that goes on keeping this forum running, I frankly think it's crap that these two should take all the heat. Craig & Nico, I know you've said you won't but I am very happy for you to quote my IP address if it's specifically…

I had an MSN session with Andy Duff and Nico the other day. They explained to me (very patiently) how the whole turbo, intercooler thing works. Anyway, I came across this site which is quite good for car idiots like me: http://www.keveney.com/Engines.html It shows animated engines for all the various types, including weird ones like Wankel rotary engines. Cheers, Andy

Hi everyone, Does anyone know if there is a way to temporarily disable the HICAS system? I want to try running the car with it working and with it disabled so I can decide which is best for me.. Has anyone done any tests like this to determine how the HICAS improves or degrades handling? Thanks, John

Okay people, let me explain. We have reached a point with the forum that i really had hoped we could avoid. I have always liked to assume that people can be mature enough to post reasonably, but i am frequently proved wrong. This is not about people having a laugh and joke, or making the forum all completely Z related and boring. This is about taking things too far. A lot of things have been said on this forum about companies that we have dealt with. Some good, some bad. In most instances if a company has had something bad posted about them on this forum, they have joined in to try and remedy the situation. However, some companies take a dif…

Hi mate. I dropped off a set of Greenstuff pads that you supplied with Ian at Hiteq. He said you were there on a daily basis and I couldn't get you on the phone as usual. The pads were the wrong ones and you were going to arrange collection from me ages ago. I have gone through 2 sets of pads since I ordered these! LOL Any chance of sending me my set ASAP? Chris.

AKA Erratic speedo problem. I have tried just about everything that the lovely folks on this forum have suggested - in order to try and fix this B annoying problem short of replacing the actual speedo itself! And that's where I am today. If anyone has managed to cure there jumpy speedo needle problem without fitting a new speedo could you post pretty please? INFO: I f you have an occasional problem with your needle going walkabouts - prior to fitting the speedo converter... expect it to get a lot worse after! Andy

In my frustration in waiting for Japanese Performance magazine I bought Max power and found a nice little section on Air Filters. What I was curious to know is, considering the amount of restriction of the stock panel filters, is there much difference between any of the conical filter in relation to flow? Oh yeah, and does anyone know what the dimensions of a K&N filter is?

OK, as some of you are aware, when I first got my 300 the previous owner had, well, not lookied after it from a service point of view, very well. For example all the connectors were full of Coppaslip grease (a fantastic CONDUCTING grease - great idea on a multi pin connector don't you reckon?) and there were a lot more "Hmm thats strange I wonder who did that...." moments along the way... Anyway, after getting the front of the engine stripped ready for a cambelt change and to find out what parts I needed, after taking off the bottom metal coolant pipe (coming from the front of the engine), I thought to myself "Isn't that where the thermostat should be???". Guess wh…
