Hi all, Havent posted in a while hope your all doing well. Restoring an old datsun at the mo 280ZX. Got a few holes that I've rubbed down and treated with Kurust (anti rust stuff). My question is can you ISOPON on it even though I've put the Kurust on? The directions on the ISOPON tin says to get rid of all the paint prior to application, now i dont know if this means getting rid of all the Kurust. If it does me Kurusting all the holes was a complete waste of time!!! Help appreciated as I want to know for sure if its ok or do i need to get the wire brush out again!!! Thanks.

Can't believe it! I have done my first bit of mechanics on my zed and fitted my induction kit (well almost lol) Got rid of the old crap and fitted hks as in instruction manual but pics only as all in Jap Only thing I couldn't figure out is where the supporting bars connect to. There are three. One for underneath and two for the sides. Anyone enlighten me please. Cheers Martin ------------------

Has anyone changed these and noticed any difference in performance or economy?

Over the past 5 I have 2 Z32s on the road, both of which ignored me when I flashed my lights at them. SO, on the way home from work today, the owner of a White Z31 gave a wave. Warmed the cockles of my heart it did! Doesn't take much does it!!

Silver one was behind me by one car tonight around docks area. Looked like it had stickers or something on the windscreen so I assume that it may of come straight from the docks. A silver or grey one also parked up one car back from me again at some T. lights on sunday, which subsequently drove towards West End area. Starting to lose count of zed sightings around here. Oh well WTF, time for another beer....

I might get ZX soon, but I can't decide go for auto or manual? Any suggestions? Personally prefer manual, but there are a lot of auto out there, which one is better?

Have started to hear a stange noise (quite loud at times) from the just in front of passengers bulk head when coming of boost. It makes no difference if car is cold or warm and generally only makes the noise when coming of boost slowly. The noise sounds like valve or filter reeding, a bit of a fog horn sounding noise. Crap discription i know. Only seems to be coming from passenger side. If i boost up quickly and let off quickly, its generally not so noticeable. I know people have had probs with re-circulating values. This could be one, but seems closer to bulkhead than right up front. Just wondering if anyone has experienced same noise and if so was it cured and…

Glen, Got the modem today. Stuck it in and, touch wood, it seems to have sorted out the problem. Got chucked off once but that might have just been co-incidence. It's been fine now for 20 minutes. Thanks VERY much - top guy. Dave

hey m8, i sent you an email the other day, dont know if you got it. I was wondering about the paul bailley side skirts fitting in with the wide rear arches because it looks like the air hole on the sideskirts is in same place as the bottom vent on the arches. What do you think? Will peter make them all fit or will the sideskirt air vent just be chopped off? shame if it is as i was wanting the 3 to fit. cheers m8, still got 5 weeks to wait but its worth it i know

as i said on my last post i took my car to j s holmes nissan dealer as recomended by someone on this website.i thaught the clutch was shagged.they saids no its the bearings in the box. 750 quid and they would sort it.so they took it apart and done it.but they havnt fixed it. it still makes the same whining noise as it did before it went in. they said very sorry but the box is worn and its past the wear limit. just ignore the noise.then they gave me the bill.fuc*** tossers. in the end i paid half price labour and full cost of parts.cost me £500 and its still noisey.the guy who done it said he has never been beaten on a box hes done before.mines the first.hes lucky i didnt …

Hi there, I've got a black UK TT which a nice member from here came out to see in Rugeley, Staffordshire a few months ago, power stearing pump needed replacing, I cant remember who it was though and I think i'm at a point now when I can get it done. Just fitted Smithys Single Air Filter(Blitz type filter) induction kit, pics will follow. Very impressed with the quality of the kit, Took under an hour to fit. Took it on the road, and the car felt immediatly better, the turbos spooled quicker, engine throttle response was better. Got wheelspin for the first when changing into third. Defo must have got an extra 10-15 bhp with this mod, car was running at 9 psi at the time. Time to fit the boost jets, bought the welding tips from B&Q, fiitted them, boost went to 17 psi!, bit of detting, fitted the larger boost jets down to 13.5 psi. The car goes like the clappers!! took it out for bit of test drive. Hit so…

What size tyres would i need for 18's on an un-lowered jap spec zed? also how wide can the actual alloys be? (18x10 etc). Can you get away with 18's looks wise without lowering or does the car sit too high? any advice would be appreciated, cheers.
