General Discussions - 300ZX Related

Hi All, With the cold weather I've begun to notice an annoying creaking coming from the nearside front shock mounting. It seems that anything below 5°C seems to cause the creak (until everything warms up). Also if I soak the area in WD40 the creak disappears for a while. I replaced the shocks last autumn (they are new with about 2000 miles) and noticed the creak then, only to forget about it over summer. Any ideas? Makes the car sound a bit naff at the moment.... I didn't replace the gaskets at the time - are these easy to get hold of (part no. anyone?) (I'm gonna swap the shocks over next weekend anyway, 'cos they are on the wrong sides but as…

I've no idea what's upset him to make him decide about leaving, so just wondered if any of you guys had heard whats what and were in a postion to sort the problem(s) out ? I assume it may relate to a general feeling about certain things, but am just thinking that if someone as level headed as him is pissed about summit, then surely others might and i'd hate to see anyone leave for reasons other than being a Zed owner. cheers smithy

Guys, A while back a had a custom system fitted from Haywood & Scott (if anyones heard of them) in Basildon. The build is good quality and pleased with them, however i had to have removable bungs made for the pipes at the end as the drone at about 2500-3000rpm was too much and made my ears hurt! I was wondering if anyone else has this. I wanted to get rid of the bungs really as it sounds better without them, but was wondering if i put resonators in the centre or de-cat pipes it might be enuf to get rid of the drone. hia guys, new to owning a 300 (I used to work in a nissan garage years ago but not on these supercars) I've had it about a couple of months, sorted a couple of problems( cruse control and horn) by replacing fuses in the drivers footwell. I got my Boost controller (Greedy profec BII) off chris today and im going to try and fit it 2moro, i have done a search and did have a few good sites myself, but they have all shut down and all the pics on this forum in the FAQ section have gone, So does anyone have any links or can anyone help me with the fitting?

i'm looking to fit some after market seats to my Z does anyone know the size of the standard seats and what size will fit? looking for one of these... they come in 2 different sizes= Dimensions: Standard: A=46cms, B-61crns, C=88cms. Excel: A=54cms, B=65cms, C=88cms If anyone has fitted after market seats, have you fitted the standard size or gone for the wider size? Any help would be appreciated :bow:

Anyone else embarrassed by the current crop of new members? Bad english, text speak, and tails of racing on public roads all the time :mac1: This isn't a trader thread but it's the privatest place I can post :D Mike - what about adding certain common text speak words to the swear filter? :D Over on sxoc.co.uk the mods crack down on "shite" like Hitlers, it's annoying sometimes, closing threads all the time, but the zed forum would benefit IMO from a similar (ok, not as strict) tolerance. Grinds berween first and second and 4th rattles like hell got a rebuild place to do it for pound notes(come highly recomended) but aint got a price yet any ideas? im gonna pull the box myself.also what parts are replaced in a rebuild and can i source them myself? tnx all :)

Hello. I'm changing the oil in my TT auto next week and been told to try this "engine cleaner" stuff ?? Has anyone used this or heard anything about it ? Also the car has a lazy lifter so planning to use SAE 5-50 if I can actually find any, does this sound right plz? Thanks.

My turbos built the pressure perfectly but my car runs really bad. I have already cleaned and checked almost everything (TPS, coils, O2, fuel pump, timing, boost leak,...). I have strange values with Datascan and the Profec. Profec E-01 : in "car select menu : speed meter pulse", if I enter "2" (the right value for the Z32, as with the AVC-R), the boost controller gives a wrong RPM (too high). If I enter "4", I read the right RPM values... Datascan : at WOT, the airflow never gives more than 3 volts (instead of 4.5 volts) and 35% of injectors duty cycle. I'm not always 'rich' under acceleration. My iddle is not perfect (variation of 60 rpm…
