I've changed the rear gearbox mount for a new one (thanks MrF) and I've changed the centre support bearing for a nearly new one (thanks Slick Pete) but I'm afraid to report that the vibrations are still there. It's a coarse-ness that comes in about 40 and goes about 70. So - a couple of questions: The UV joints on the prop are all tight but very notchy. Is this the fault or are they supposed to be like that? There is the possibility that I've reassembled it out of balance. I marked all of the joints as you are supposed to but removed the centre flange without referencing it to the front shaft - so I guessed it position on reassembly (what an idiot!). So, ca…

on the drivers side firewall there is the series off solenoids in the corner hwat is the purpose of them, I know they are lionked to the air pumps in the innr wings which i removed. but they seem to pipe up to the throttle body and to the n/a side of the intake pipe work. I thought off removing them and blanking the vac pipes off. Anybody done it or what is the best way to bypass all that crap. cheers Richard

Hi fellas Have "recently" fitted new intercoolers and removed my carbon canister and before I put it all back together I've used my boost leak detector (for the first time) to check the intake system for leaks. I'm using a small compressor but I'm getting no positive pressure at all  All of the relevant intake pipes were blocked during the CC removal and the ICs are on securely. I'm pretty sure that I had a leak before the IC install (possibly after my Apexi BOVS went on  ) as I was only getting about 7psi on my aftermarket gauge  Does anyone have a diagram showing the complete routing of the vacuum lines and pipes which ma…

hi guys, having experienced some cold nights, Ive discovered that my rear factory standard spoiler has started to curl away from the boot in places, when i looked closer and pressed on the affected areas it was like crushing an ice pop, it seems water has got in and when frozen expanded and thats what has caused the problem. I was wondering is there anything I can do to stop this happening or to somehow repair it? cheers Lee

Right been working on / off on a fix for the dreaded goose honk that occurs when fitting induction kits when the standard recircs are still been used. I know that fitting bovs cures the fault but why spend out on bovs if you have an auto box as they do very little then and anyhow not all owners have the spare cash. Right, having looked at why the noise occures and at what throttle opening etc, it appears to be that crucial opening angles of the throttles the recircs operation flutters, this gives a degree of recirc operation that should NOT be occurring, the noise is a direct result of this. So the recirc work ok, bUT the control of the recirc is the proble…

Hi all, I'm debating buying a 1989 ZX TT soon & using it as a daily driver.... Now i'm going from a Toyota Cynos import 1.5 NA to the 3L TT so running costs will obviously go up.... But my question is - how many of you run your ZX as a daily driver? I currently drive about 20 miles to & from work daily but i'm going to start site visits soon. J

Guys Me and Spinksy have had a total mare changing the clutch!!! It ended up with the eintire engine coming out due to not beng able to find one gearbox bolt hidden by the side of the starter motor under all the pipes.... ANYWAY, engine is back in, managed sheer a bolt in the air con unit!! GRRR, so thats had to come off and be retapped.....now, I cant figure out the inboard end of the passenger side driveshaft..... The bearings came out as I was trying to put the driveshaft back in, so, I took the driveshaft off the car, cleaned it all up but I when I put it all back together there isnt any movement in the joint?!?!? I have to go very slow over speed bumps due to pipes under my car. Is this normal. I dont know if my car has ben lowered, What should the height be and where do I measure it from. I suspect it has, and the only reason I have for this is I was looking at my power antenna and the rear speakers and the foam that covers the rear shocks has ben cut. Should I be able to see my stainless steel pipes when I look under my car. they seem to hang down a bit low. Thanks guys Konrad
