I have to go very slow over speed bumps due to pipes under my car. Is this normal. I dont know if my car has ben lowered, What should the height be and where do I measure it from. I suspect it has, and the only reason I have for this is I was looking at my power antenna and the rear speakers and the foam that covers the rear shocks has ben cut. Should I be able to see my stainless steel pipes when I look under my car. they seem to hang down a bit low. Thanks guys Konrad

  5. A friend of mine has a top spec W reg Nissan Terrano II. Horrible thing it is. BUT, on closer inspection, the internal door handle assemblies look 100% identical to the ones found in the Zed....well, size wise and shape wise anyway. What's nicer about them is that instead of the handle being faided grey, it's chromed metal. Looks much nicer than the ones in the Zed. Anyone tried doing this?

Well Guys, It happens to us all i guess the z died last night. Been noticing an autobox shifting problem lately that I'd put down to the cold snap and cold oil. As some of you may know I fitted the HKS Automatic Line Shifter some time ago and the z centre auto box oil cooler upgrade recently (5,000miles ago). There has been a noticeable cooling of transmission running temperature since fitting the cooler upgrade on high speed long distance journeys, where the heat that I used to feel through the handbrake boot is much lower. The shifting problem was the box not shifting up at full power with overdrive off until the car was about 5 miles into a journey. May…

Ok, so they are bonded in with black gloup as well as screwed in. Rear panel comes off nice and easily. But how the hell do you prise the rear lights out? Is it a case of hairdryer on the ruddy things for 15 mins or is there a knack?

i normally run the Z in summer so don't have much need to use much screen wash, so now i'm running her in winter, i need to now fill up the screen wash (you know where this is going don't you?) and the filler tube is supposed to be on the off-side, under the bonnet, near the head lamp (well according to the user manual) but guess what its not, there's all the hicas stuff, but no filler pipe, help where on earth is it, hunted high and low, no joy. sorry to ask such a noob question, i feel such a mumpet. cheers

Has any body had similar problem ? 1993 Jap spec TT running HKS lowered Uprated suspension. The front tyres on my Z were wearing down to the wire they were fine when i bought it 6 months ago approx 1000 miles covered since. Ive replace the fronts now but have been told by one of my work friends who is a technician that the front is ok, he has tracked it, but it requires a full 4 wheel alignment as its the 4wheel stear which has caused them to scrub out ? They went on the inner edge on both fronts. My local tyre guy i use wants £40 for the job and £20 per adjustment :x: Yes £20 per adjustment. :x: i have done a search but did not find anything. Cheer…

My JDM boost gauge goes from -7 to +7. Does the fact that the needle never reaches all the way to -7 or +7 indicate a vacuume/boost leak. At idle or decel it's one notch above and at full throttle it's one notch below (-6/+6?). Car seems to be running ok appart from slightly lumpy idle but it is due for an oil change and plugs. I did trawl the FAQs and other tech posts but to no avail

Picked my car up from having an oil change, drove for a mile or so, low rpm's 1st, 2nd gear. Then the car started to judder at higher rpms, so pulled off the main road but as I tried to continure the car spluttered to a halt with no power at any throttle openings and now has had to be left up a side street until I can go back tomorrow. It will still start for a second or so of very spluttery low idle, then dies. Could this be PTU symptoms? Also have to check the MAF (very cold and now splash guard, altough it isn't raining and it started fine to begin with), temp sensor and fuel (low but light wasn't on). Any other suggetions?

The Mrs loves it but it bothers me: From cold i get a hell of a vibration between 40-60mph. Ok prop shaft bearings i though. However the vibration stops after a few miles!!? Correct me if i'm wrong but doesn't grease get thinner with heat. If the bearing was buggered wouldn't it get worse rather than better after a few miles?? :)

Hi, I have recently discovered a problem with my auto box system. I have an HKS ALC fitted and it was working fine till a while ago. When I give it some, instead of the red light coming on gradually, it comes straight on. I have swapped the alc for a new one which made no difference. I have messed around with the connector for ages trying not to over tighten it in every way. I also have had a gear box rebuild a few months ago. I have also fitted a new TPS and set it correctly. Also I get a 'line pressure solenoid' warning every now and again. I don't seem to get it with the ALC and harness removed. It seems really intermittent. Nissan want £70 + vat to do s…
