General Discussions - 300ZX Related

After much cursing,swearing and bashing frozen fingers, the Fairlady lives and breathes. It appears to have been "water" in the fuel system, must have collected in the swirl tank and then fed to fuel rail. For future reference, pump at least half a gallon through the filter before trying anything else, if you ever have a similar problem. Many thanks for the suggestions. I went to halfords and bought some new bosch wipers, Checked with the girl that they were for the 300zx and it came up with size 21/21s for the front. When i put them on, the drivers side overlaps by about 1.5" so it catchs it on the passenger wiper on the way up. Does anyone know what size i need and as mines a jap import does that make any difference? Its a G/1990 model. Same as above again with bulbs, bought the recomended "super brilliance" bulbs size 448sb which is what is says in the book are for the 300zx but when i removed the bulb from the car its a single pin bulb and these new ones are double pin. Going to pop back up there to refund them but if …

Does anyone know where I might get an apexi oil pressure gauge from Ive trawled through google with no joy. Any help appreciated. whats the pros and cons of removing this stepping motor and controlling the boost entirely with a manual boost controller. a friend of mine did this in his Z ...

A little advice please gents and ladys, On removing my rear calipers the other day i made a massive school boy error and cracked off two and removed one of these bolts, before i realised they where the wrong ones. In the attached file taken from the online manual it says not the lossen or remove these. have a i made a big boo boo?????

When I had the door cards off last, I noticed that one speaker (near side) was an after market speaker in a speaker adaptor and the other side still had the large plastic BOSE casing with little speaker and multi-pin connector. I've just ordered new speaker adaptors to upgrade to 6.5", replacing the nearside is fine as simply, there are two wires plugged into the current speaker that's there, but what wires do I need to split from the BOSE item on the drivers side? I'd have to crimp spade clips onto 2 of the existing wires, but unsure if just doing this will be fine...what colour wires do I need? Also, if I'm disabling that speaker which I guess has the little a…

what do you guys think looks better the real JDM lights with the two horizontal black lines (the pin stripes) or the custom ones that i can make for $5 USD without the pinstripping. I could put the black stripes in but im not sure which one will look better and i dotn want to put it together and have to take it apart again to change it

need your help again guys car is now all fixed no faults showing and is not missfiring but........... when i am giving it a good rev and step off the acelerator whilst still in a lower gear and engine is decellerating from highish revs i get a load of pops and bangs and have been told that it seems to have flames coming out of the exhausts, now i think this means it is over fuelling? been told it looks fantastic but is this doing harm to my engine and where do i start trying to sort out over fuelling. car is totally standard uk tt manual with a two stage boost button fitted( dont know what the settings are!) never used to pop or bang, only doing it now car is all fixed…

ok i have been a ford rs man for years now and i am not sure whats the best aproach on a zx i know an engine is an engine but just wondered if there are any hints or tips that can help me? i know about building the engines side ie steel rods,pistons,porting heads,cams,chips and so on but just wondered on the electrical side any gadgets that make a diference? if so what do they do please? im just trying to get my head around them before i get mine so i can get prepared for when i get one soon

Jap N/A Manual '92. Does anyone have a circuit diag of the starter circuit. ie. is there a starter relay? Where can I cut the starter feed for my immobiliser - I don't fancy cutting at the ignition barrel - the Black/Yellow wire is huuuge compared to the puny immobiliser loop - (Toad AI606). I'd rather inturrupt the relay - but i can't find it!!! Dave

mm, now I've got mi racelogic fiited am having some more problems, the car missfires at light throttle in every position on selector switch, apart from off, also it seems to work and my wheel size is correct what else can it be?? richard

How much would u pay on insurance on a 300zx tt, im 29 with 5 years noclams one sp30, at the moment i have a mitsubishi fto and paying 450 third party with kwikfit but im thinking of getting something with a bit more grunt and the 300zx tt looks to be the one, iv read lots of reviews on gto's, Mazda RX7's and Toyota supra's but 300zx seems to be the most value for money and the most reliable. On this forum iv read people getting insuraned for 250 and 300 quid but not with who with or how telling how old they are because we all know that makes the difference. So i could do with some advice :bow:
