Has anyone ever tried to get the stock temperature gauge to work accurately? I'm sure it must be possible to make some mods to the circuitry to make it read over a wider range and be more sensitive. I like the stock look so I don't want extra gauges and at the moment I use Datascan once a month to check everything is OK, which is a pain. Any electronics genius's out there?

My car was running sweet. Drove 20miles to work all good. Moved the car from one car park to the other and it was idling lower than normal, about 800 rpm (normally about 950), also missing slightly. I drove it home and ran on full boost from some of the way, it drove fine and pulled very well. Got home and still the idle was poor. Started her today and the idle was down to 600rpm once warmed up and almost cutting out, defo missing on one side. Drove about 200m to turn the car round and it drove fine again. Not changed anything at all since it was running properly. I think can hear a hissing around the brake booster pipes (which i did change about a month ago), but t…

Hi. About to rebuild my Z32 but before I do I'm just doing some research. I can't seem to find any information on setting the valve timing. I replaced the cambelt several months ago using the timing marks on the casings and sprockets. Are the camshaft sprockets dowled to the camshafts or do you have to set them up using a DTI?

Hi everyone, i just bought a 300zx TT on friday the 22 dec (i wanted 1 for ages) and joined the club sortly afterwards, its has a few faults that i need to get sorted and i could really use some advice. 1st of all, and most worrying is that i have really low oil pressure, starts off at about 4 then drops down to 0 when the engine is warm. I was adivised to change the oil and filter 1st to see if that helped but just done that and no joy. So i guess its 1 of 3 things, the sender, the gauge or the pump. The engine has only done 53k miles (if i believe the reading) and the engine sound great. What would you reccomend i try next? Next is the speedo. 1st of all it seem…

I have just bought a manual conversion kit from nad300 and will be starting the work soon. Can anyone confirm that there is a spiggot bearing in my auto, is it different to manual and where can i get one for the conversion if different. Also, can anyone supply pics of the pipework for the clutch servo so I can see where it goes. Thanks in advance for any answers, no doubt i'll have a few more questions as I progress through the job which I will do over the next few weeks as and when I get time. Cheers.

I have decided to post simply because this latest set of tyres I have fitted are superb. The story so far Bought the car and realised the rubber fitted to it had reached its last legs ( bare metal showing through ), worried about wether the camber was right due to undue wear on the inners of the tyres I decided to try budgets to see if I had a problem. I went for the nankang ns2 rear and khumo front, this was ok but no great shakes, when these were gone I tried the Avon ZZ3 all round set up and found them only as good as the nankangs and khumos so not worth the extra pennies. On the advice of a friend I then tried the Pilot sports and found these to be very good t…

I was going to the gym and stopped of at Homebase to get a padlock for a gym locker as someone at work had his regular locker ripped off and had his debit\credit cards fleeced. I parked at Homebase got the padlock and went back to the car. I always used a steering wheel lock. But i only had one key left and the fob bit had broken away so i used a bare key that i stored under the car floor mat in a receess. But i lost the key! So i ran back home, i had my gym kit on, how handy! Looked for the key at home then me and pop went to homebase to rip off the steering wheel lock. We bashed away at the lock for 30 mins then we started cutting the sheet metal. In 5 mins we cutted a …

As above, after the dilemma my company hit me with last night and Jaffa lending me his front bumper then helpping fit it, i took the Zed on it's foorst proper run in my ownership, only managed a 26 mile trip, was planning on taking it home to cambridge, but only got as far as the M25 turn off from the A3 then had to come back :( The car wasnt responsive at all, put your foot down and pretty much nothing, top speed was 60, put your foot down to go faster and nother the enigine just revved higher!, was spluttering and coughting and really didnt sound well at all, and kept stalling! Now the car was running fine, but i have done a few things since then: Fitte…
