1990 NA auto Not sure if these are all connected? The aircon has always been a little tempremental. Dried out all electrics and changed aircon dash console, which seemed to do the trick, but today I noticed no aircon. It comes back on if I hit a bump brake? Also if I turn the ignition on (no aircon) press brake pedal relay clicks to release auto gearlever and aircon activates. Also the alternator is boiling battery, I can measure constant 10A but anything from 14.6 to 16.6 volts. There has been an intermittent belt squeel. This lunchtime I have tightened the aircon and alternator belts, but  there still seems to be a high pitched scream on bringing up …

Seven Months after I rebuilt this Engine and i get a Miss on number 5 and low compression reading of (Zero) and number 3 cylinder reads 115psi due to strangely a head bolt between 3 and 5 cylinder working loose? So whats wrong with this picture?? I don't think its PTU or Coilpack related :D The last picture is an example of how much room there is when you remove the passenger side head while in situ! Great i can easily get to those gearbox bolts now! I started stripping down at 9:30am and was finished by 5pm ready to have my tea Lol! Everything that was removed would have had to have been removed regardless of whether the Engine was removed or not!…

Blimey it feels strange to be posting back here :D Anyway I dont have my zed anymore but the old man does, it just stopped on him last night and the wouldnt restart. From memory and a quick flick around here it seems to fit with a PTU failure. All the auxiliary belts are turning when the ignition turns so engine seems to be turning over freely, just wont start. Not had a chance to look at it in detail but any advice on things to check would be great. Cheers Glyn ex 95 TT

This morning I was woken up by a knock on the door to tell me someone had driven into the back of the Z  :mac1:  :headvswal At least they had the decency to stop and give insurance details (The only witness being a police officer might have had something to do with it) To say I'm Pi**ed off is an understatement

Can someone solve an arguement for me please : I've changed my front wings for viper front wings from Z centre and i'm wanting to take away my side repeaters so the wings are totally smooth : But 1 of the mechanics in my work says that you NEED side repeaters in order to pass an M.O.T and another mechanic says that it depends on how old the car is, but he does'nt know the exact age it needs to be. Can someone clear this up for me

My Z is moving from its country life to the big city this weekend (2 mins from ace cafe yay!!) Its not going to be really used during the week and its parked on the road. I really want to keep it as Mint as possible so i was thinking of a car cover. I heard good and bad opinions on these and just wondered if anyone had any info. Do they scratch the paintwork?? Do they make the Z more appealing to a thief or chav vandal??

Just recived a boost leak tester from z1 motorsport. Hooked it up. Used the compressor to apply air. But couldn't get any pressure to the system. Sounded juyst like the air moved around close to the MAF piping. have I done anything wrong or is just that I have a major leak somewhere near the front with the maf. (sounded like it came from the left side.) couldn't see anything from above the engine.....

Going to give him a mini service and replace a few parts and do the oil change. Wish me luck as I'll be doing it all myself. This will be the biggest job thus far I'll have attempted on my Zed. I hope I can get it ready in time of Japshow @ Santa Pod as I'd like to take it down the strip. Eileen

Hi all, My Autobox is shagged (well, getting there shortly) and I am looking to get it rebuild to Fast Road spec with a view to adding the Shift At Will (SAW-II) gear in the future. Does anyone know of a RELIABLE place who can do the rebuild for me. I don't care where it is in the UK as I have a spare autobox to send out. But the company needs to know what they're doing - no back street cowboys who claim the world and then don't deliver. Many thanks for your feedback - much appreciated as always! Cheerio! Dan PS - I am not interested in going Manual so no comments about conversions please. ;)
