Well it's been a while coming but finally got my new bumper fitted. Wanted a change from the scarab for a while to freshen up the car a bit. Lost some enthuZiasm with it recently but love it again now so gonna put more effort in on the jobs that need doing! :lol: So now have a genuine 99-spec bumper with Proudear splitter blended in - used to be on Ash's green Z. Still not crazy on how far the splitter sticks out but it's certainly growing on me and makes it unique. Rightly or wrongly I bought a set of alloys and tyres from Ebay for the Z. They were described as, four genuine Nissan alloys in great condition and four tyres are road worthy. I should have returned the wheels i guess when i saw that the tyres were shot...but as i picked them up cheap and the wheels weren't terrible. I kept them and opened up a case on Ebay about the tyres. I bought them because the split rims on mine are beyond the joke now and one tyre actually came off the rim! On my (rather wet) drive to work this morning, idle was very rough and the engine cut out a few times in traffic. My first concern is the MAF... Since fitting a pair of K&N panel filters (together with exhaust, but I doubt it's that), the idle speed has been less stable - but not this severe up to now. Could they be letting water or oil into the MAF? I also noticed at the time that there's a pencil-sized hole through the mesh on the MAF :huh: I have driven in wetter weather up to now and hadn't noticed idle being any more erratic in the wet.

My old zed has UK front glass which is 6 months old prior to the accident. I have an estimate of £60 to remove it carefully but wondering if its worth it ?

Well this is the Zed I have decided to purchase, N/A Auto but im not bothered as this could be changed over time, really just wanted another Zed. As some of you are aware of my other ZX which sadly I had to sell due to the purchase of a new home, lets just say i wont be going down that route this time. My ideas for this ZX are to look for a spoiler which will go over the rear strip which does not effect it, possibly a roof spoiler, 99 Spec lights and front bumper, smooth out the lines from the side doors and rear bumper and respray black. Just been into Halfords or Halfrauds as I have learned to called it on this forum and they have some 5w-40 fully synthetic and 10w-40 semi for £12 for 4litres. Might be handy for anyone looking to do a couple of oil changes to clean up their engine. I'm hoping it's suitable, it says oil industry standards Area A3/B4 and API SM CF. Then it says recommended for applications requiring Mercedes MB 229.3, VW 502.00/505.00 and Renault RN0700/710 It's not with the other oils it'll probably be on a stand near the entrance..

I need to sort the brakes on the new zed so I need to but some fluid. I know the recommended fluid is DOT3 but can I use the higher grades, such as DOT4, 5.1 etc.

Guess it was never meant to be :( Only a few things left to strip out of the old zed before she goes to the carpark in the sky.

Hoping for some suggestions, I can't decide if I like my current spoiler, now I've had my fun don't want anything too over the top this time round, and baring in mind I've pushed back it's bodyshop date, I might change it, As some know my cars going gold, thats decided, but I'm thinking carbon 99 spec spoiler? Just to break the colour up a bit, anyone got any other ideas? Or know where I could get a carbon 99 spec, sure I saw a thread somewhere. Current spoiler: New colour:

Long shot - Anyone got a front and rear gasket for the suspension struts that they can lay their hands on today and measure the thickness? I have access to gasket material on the boat, and want to take home some of the correct thickness and make up my own gaskets when I take the suspension off next week. Thanks in advance.
