ZX-MIKEY Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 Rightly or wrongly I bought a set of alloys and tyres from Ebay for the Z. They were described as, four genuine Nissan alloys in great condition and four tyres are road worthy. I should have returned the wheels i guess when i saw that the tyres were shot...but as i picked them up cheap and the wheels weren't terrible. I kept them and opened up a case on Ebay about the tyres. I bought them because the split rims on mine are beyond the joke now and one tyre actually came off the rim! The new rubber are one the rims now, old tyres disposed of. When i went to pick them up, they pointed out to me that i appears to have two rims that match for the rear but the two front's don't! :( I'm heartbroken, I've literally broke myself with this car and now I'm dealing with liars who have made me shell out for all four corners. In short, i need to match one of the rims on the front...how i go about that i'm not sure. One of them looks like it protrudes a little from the middle, unlike the other which is almost flat. I hope this makes sense, if i can give any more info i can. Thanks! Quote
AndrewG Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 Have you got a photo of them? Quote She's so fine, there's no tellin' where the money went - Simply irresistible.
NemesizX Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 The staggered set up on the Z makes the rear wheel rims deeper than the front. The rears should have a deeper rim as far as I am aware. The front should have less lip on the rim. I have a full set of wheels that I had advertised on the forum for some time now. Try and get your money back from the eBay seller. They're usually pretty good if the items aren't as stated in the listing.. Quote

dutchgold92 Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 I believe it's only the UK spec wheels that were staggered mate JDM wheels are 225 all around. US, UK and I presume most other markets got the staggered ones. Quote
AndrewG Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 Japanese domestic 16x7.5J all round. Exported models 16x7.5J front and 16x8.5J rears (for TTs), otherwise 16x7.5J all round. Quote She's so fine, there's no tellin' where the money went - Simply irresistible.

NemesizX Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 I have a jap car and the rears are wider than the fronts also. Mine is a series one car. Any chance you can get some photos of the wheels up mate? Might be easier to advise if I could see them. Quote

ZX-MIKEY Posted January 30, 2016 Author Posted January 30, 2016 Hi guys, I'm using another PC at the mo because my internet has gone down. Anyways, i've attached some photos of the two front wheels. They aren't great condition as you can see, but at least they're not out of shape like my whees on there at the moment! This first one should show you the difference in the alloy front... The one is deeper than the other, both are meant to be fronts. As you can see, one is slightly wider than the other. I'm not able to get a refund on tyres, so i need another front to match the one i have. I wanted to know, as they are the same tyre but one is stratched a little more than the other, would this cause me any problems when driving? I haven't swapped them over as yet but i will need to soon. Thanks for all of your input guys, the wheels (for those who saw my first post) is one of the last things to sort out. Quote
AndrewG Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 It is difficult to see from those photos - they do look like OEM wheels. If one rim is wider then it will be a 16x8.5J rim used on the rear wheels as I posted earlier. You will be after a 16x7.5J rim used on the fronts wheels. You should also bear in mind that 300ZX wheels are right and left handed to help brake cooling: Quote She's so fine, there's no tellin' where the money went - Simply irresistible.
spiff Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Isn't t also stamped 7,5J or 8,5J depending on width? If you have one front and one rear tyre then width AND et is gonna be different. Probably not great... Sent fra min GT-I9100 via Tapatalk Quote
lymon Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 Not very clear to see in the picture, but it looks like the front one is a 8.5J rear wheel (spokes and center run/point slightly inwards) and the right one is a 7.5J front wheel (spokes/center point outwards). So this would mean the tires are put on the wrong way around... From the top of my head the standard (staggered) wheels are also stamped with the correct side...RR (rear right), FL (front left), etc Quote
lymon Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 Correction..."the front one is a 8.5J rear wheel" needs to be "the left one is a 8.5J rear wheel" Quote
ZX-MIKEY Posted February 3, 2016 Author Posted February 3, 2016 Thanks for the replies about the wheels guys, below i have attached everything i have. As you can see i have two right hand side rears and two different sizes of front wheel. I am still battling to get these returned and a full refund, the problem is the tyres have been fitted now and he beleives the tyres were ok...they were from from ok. Quote
AndrewG Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 Did some digging for you: Rear Right 40300-40P10 16x8.5J Rear Left 40300-40P15 16x8.5J so your photos show you have two rear right wheels. The 40P05 will be a Left Front 16x7.5J wheel. I don't know the stamping number for a Right Front as the Nissan FAST (parts database) numbers don't correspond to the part numbers stamped on the wheel. Someone who has OEM wheels will be able to confirm what it is (possibly 40P00). Quote She's so fine, there's no tellin' where the money went - Simply irresistible.
Sir Charles Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 40P00 Is Right Front 40P05 Is Left Front 40P15 Is Left Rear I'm missing Right rear Quote
