well after further investigation today my zed is just going to cost too much to repair the good old rotten sill syndrome compared to how much its worth, so looks like it will be broken for parts & scrapped! :o15: had her for over 6 years & was hoping to repair & sell, bit gutted really. really pi$$ed off TBH!

Hi guys, just seeing if anyone has any ideas... I've just done a full re-build, re-bore, oversized pistons etc. I have fully put the engine back in, but, when i tried to start it, it would turn over but not fire up. I did an ECU diagnostic, which told me it was the det. sensor, after further examination, i discovered that one of the wires was broke on the plug from the det. sensor. I have repaired this, but still no joy, it turns over beautifully, and there is a spark, and after removing a couple of spark plugs to have a look at them, they are dry, and no smell of petrol. Could this be a fuel issue? Also, if the det. sensor was faulty, or the PTU, would the…

I need to buy some new wheels as it looks like I have buckled one of mine. I have seen a set on ebay 18"'s I really like but they are only 8" at the front and 8.5" at the rear which seems very narrow. I know the originals were only 16" x 8" but that was surely due to the fact that was big back in the early 90's and not what is considered optimal now. With people running wheels from 16" to 20" in diameter and lots of different widths, what would be the most optimal for a modern fast road - occasional track day?

My mirrors auto fold in when I turn the ignition off, and I noticed today on the way back to the MOT testing station that they are heated too.... I have owned 5 Z32's in my time - and none of them had heated auto folding mirrors! Anyone else got them or is my zed unique?

Hi all, After recently having a dream in which the Zed gods visited me and told me to become a zed owner I have only viewed one so far, and that is the only zed I have been in for experience, I like the car but I have alot of plans for it. I guess before all that I would like to ask all the experts and professionals in these cars, what is the best model to go for, manual or auto?....2+2 or swb.....and which year I know the early autos had problems with gearbox cooling etc.....so would a 92' model be okay or even later to around 94 or 96? But either way it will have to be a Twin Turbo! Your advice will be much appreciated!!

Does anyone know where I can get a set of fitted front mats for the Z? I'm not after the standard ones as I already have them and don't like them. Something plain or with a Z stitched on would be nice :)

Hi all. Started my little service on my 300zx twin turbo. im at the stage where im putting the new cambelt on. Ive set no.1 to tdc and lined up marks on the pulleys and sprockets to their marks and dots as said in workshop manual. I put belt on starting at the crankshaft pulley and work my way round anticlockwise. As soon as i start to move the tensioner towards belt to bolt it in place some sprockets move and are no longer on there timing marks. At this point i take belt off adjust sprockets back on thier marks and start again and i lose everytime.:( Anyone know of a method to keep the top 4 sprockets still and locked in place when i install the cambelt?:)

well just had an electrician come around to have a look at why the Z was running a bit lumpy, i thought it was due to the loom but with all the parts tested its turned out to be the ignition amplifier unit. The guy said they should be easy enought to find and an easy problem to sort. Does anyone have one or know where i could find one? Thanx Sonia xx

hey all, in the next month or 2 i will be looking to get a boost controller and boost gauge but i have a few questions for you all (as usual) my budget is not huge and i dont really want a funky ass digital thing.. so i would prefer just a simple manual boost controller. are these any good, i dont want huge accuracy just really want to be able to choose low boost/high boost! as for the gauge well.. just something small that does the job. any chance there is anyone out there who is local who has installed these before who would be willing to install for me?.. obviously i will pay them ££! also this i take it will sort out my safety boost issues!

In the last two weeks, ive sorted and done some mods. New refurbed 18" Gewalt split rims and tyres, just waiting for 25mm spacers. Fitted my jap bumper to the UK TT, as the crud that was on there is now gone (veilside C1 replica, free to collector) New pads front and back. Sorted the det sonsor out and now running full chat. Sprayed up headlights to chrome effect (first attempt but ok) Still to do. New leather seats, as existing is pants. Get the polished plenium in and clean up the bay. a few pics
