so my car came with fitted with the Bose speaker boxes (seems to be original due to the looms for the amps) but all amps in the speakers are now removed and were wired to the head unit. i rewired them to run them from a kenwood x650D amp. and its been like that for 3 years now and it's "OK" i know this has been covered before but ill be buggered if i can find it, just wanted to see what peoples opinions would be on replacing the speakers and the options i have? maybe fitting a crossover and tweeter? (i know the rears are ruined as water has got on them)

So my turbo failed it's MOT the other day, very high levels of hydrocarbons in the exhaust gasses, I'm going to have a bit of poke round the car tomorrow but anything common I should focus on? Car is a 1992 turbo jap import and has a catback stainless exhaust, 87,000, fresh oil , seems to run nicely , makes good power, very smooth no hesitation and had about a 1/4 tank of premium fuel in at the time , any suggestions very welcome ! Thanks again Will

I was going to use my jack to do some work on the daily car today and realised I must have lost the blooming thing when moving house :oops: so going to have to get a new one! It's been years since I've jacked the Z up with a normal jack as I've used a mates garage for most of the work I've done over the past few years, but swear I used to have to drive onto blocks and then jack the subframe from behind the front wheel... Does anyone have a recommendation of a low profile jack that would allow using from the front of the car to jack the subframe? (Understand I'll still need to drive onto planks to get the jack under) I think the main issue I can see with a …

This is where i'm currently at with my rebuild. Not planning a full strip down but rather clean and replace everything I can before putting the engine back. The question is should I strip any further than this ? There is a fair amount of oil residue and also general muck under the lower plenum so I want to clean the full thing up as much as I can myself.

Bought a set of hybrid turbos which myself and the seller presumes were good. Further inspection it looks as if the blades on the turbos are damaged so now i'm in need of some advice. Preferably I would like to keep them so what would it take to replace the blades or the full cores if needed. This is only one of the cores and I've not yet inspected the other. Looks to me as if its debris damage of some sort.

Hi guys I'm hoping you can recommend a good set of lowering springs and good spaces at a reasonable price. My Z is manual 94 na 100% stock. I'm currently on the hunt for some twin turbo wheels to run all round, so I need to get it lowered to get rid of the gap between Wheels and the arch and bring them out so they are flush. I'm thinking about 40 millimetre drop with the lowering springs and Spacers 20mm all round with the TT wheels. Thanks

Just saw this on the aus300zx about nissan starting a herotage spare parts program to reproduce oem parts for the skyline cars and the fairlady models including the z32. Cant confirm anything of course but my fingers are crossed this is true. https://www.carthrottle.com/post/nissan-is-restarting-official-production-of-skyline-spares/

hi guys can anyone tell me what the original alcantera colour is on a series 2 zed? i want to change my series 1 to alcanterra, and i have found an almost complete set of panels local to me, but the door cards have had holes cut in them for tweeters, and the rear 1/4's obviously no good for a series 1, so i may have to get my original panels recovered to match (or as close as possible)

So I'm finally soon to get my zed back on the road after a small restoration. Question being since I've removed the original boot rot spoiler and replaced with a series 2. Do i need a new full width trim to go in between the lights and the upper acrylic/3rd brake light or do you just have a gap in between the trims or no trim at all? Currently i have two trims which fit to the boot lid under/behind the boot lid acrylic. But they obviously don't meet at the middle.

Title says it all really, plenum pull was done to replace the injectors. Plenum has been re installed about half way and I'm looking for some where or someone to finish it off for me as I don't get much time to work on the car and I can't remember the whole process to reinstall it and I was hoping to take the car to japfest at the end of the month... Who or where would come recommended local to me (I'm based in Hemel Hempstead) if a garage is recommended I'd need to be recovered as the car isn't currently drivable. Thanks in advance, Dan.

Hi all, has anyone ever made a plenum install video... I did a plenum pull about 6 weeks ago to diagnose issues. I had injector failure so ordered all the bits to get it back together again. I've replaced the injectors and installed all the hard bits on the plenum. I took photos of the plenum as I uninstalled it but I'm still slightly unsure where everything goes and how to assemble it. Any help is greatly appreciated as I'm trying to get the car ready for japfest and I don't get much time off. Thanks, Dan.

I've been thinking recently about the proportions of the swb bumper in comparison. Nissan for some reason added a few inches to the bumper itself creating a fatter ass. To me the SWB rear bumper has a much more appealing effect profile. It appears that Twinz rear bumpers have the swb style to them. So has anyone and how would you even start, grafted a swb bumper to a lwb. For those who don't know what I'm on about; And the Twinz on a 2+2;

Probably something that no one will be able to answer, but I'm going to ask it anyway. Does anyone know whether Nissan changed or added a UV additive for plastics and glues used on Z32s manufactured from 1993 onward? The reason for my question is mainly due to noticing the dreadful seat belt buckle discolouring seen on pre-93 cars. I changed mine about 10 years ago as the orange had turned into a faided powdery colour. The replacement buckles were from a 93 car and have retained their colour. Other Z32s from 93 onwards I've noticed have never had the faided buckle release and most pre-93 cars have. I've also noticed that dashboards on 93+ cars don't peel li…

I have an engine problem, and we can't figure it out :( I pulled out the car and I took it to a company to clean it inside and outside. I told them specifically not to wash the engine, and as far I can see it was not touched. Inside of the car it was thoroughly washed, vacuum cleaned. On the way home soething strange happened, and since then is doing it nonstop. When I start the engine the car is working nice, properly. When I start to move up to 2000RPM the car is going good. At EXACTLY 2000 RPM the car starts to jump, but when I mean jump then it jumps, shakes and is loosing power. If it falls below 2000 the car is good again. My mechanic tried everythin…

I'm having a mare removing the rear bumper, so far I've removed the 6 plastic clips at the bottom of the bumper, tried taking out the 2 internal bolts behind the boot trim and the one in the arch. On both sides this is stuck: I can't see that keeping it in place, although advice on how to get them off would be appreciated! Can anyone provide me a step by step guide please? Cheers James
