What did you do to your zed today?
I’ve done a deal with a good friend of mine, he wanted my Veilsides for a 300zx related job (which was never going to happen) So I sourced and bought these ones for him in lieu of payment. I also sold my GTC’s at the weekend, so at present there’s only my 19” Equips for the blue Z and 18” Veilsides for the red Z. Starting to feel the love again for these cars:yes:

I’ve been quiet on here of late, but as I have my calipers back from coating, I got stuck into rebuilding them and finishing off this rear subframe, plan now is to gather up all the bits for this and try put it back together for transport to Wales for bodywork and paint:thumbup1: Here’s the finished article

Hey Si, do I need to resend everything to you also?? Just checking matey, I’ve not been around here or in contact with many people in a while, at present I’m slowly losing all love for these cars and am contemplating getting myself into a nice Mercedes coupe instead. Probably easier to get me on Messenger mate.

Thinking about selling up
As the lads have already stated, you have poured your heart, soul and a lot of money into what is a fantastic example of a Z car, I’d definitely keep it, after all, these are always project cars, you can tweak, adjust, uprate a lot more things over time. You’ve done the hard / expensive part already, enjoy it as it is, and even more so when you do swap out the bits and pieces you’d like to upgrade:thumbup1: You will regret selling it Tom, I’ve been looking for a suitable replacement and there’s nothing to really compare to a Z. Bar you go for a high end (expensive) Porsche, Lotus, etc, and to be honest none of them float my boat:thumbdown:

Project UK rewind
Your car paint really does catch the light well, I agree, if you’re keeping the back lights orange, the sides should match :thumbup1:

Stepping down.
Sorry to hear this Stephen, but you do make a valid point. There seems to be only a few people who post on here regularly, there seems to be little enthusiasm for owners regarding build updates, new parts, new ideas etc. It might seem small or trivial to some, but it could be a major triumph to the OP. These cars are money pits, a chap could have worked double shifts for a month to buy a piece of his Z jigsaw and gets little recognition for his efforts. I myself have cut down on my time on here (site has been blocked on work computer), but also as there’s nothing really happening, I can spend 10 minutes on here and be caught up with everything, there were comments a while back about people posting just to get their post count / likes up and to be honest, it’s put me off updating build threads and advertising parts. It was always the way to advertise here first (to give members 1st dibs) and then other sites if there was no interest. Unless it’s free or dirt cheap nobody’s interested in here.

Richie's "Redzer" rebuild
Managed to put in some time on this today, cut off the top of the brake shield, Zinc coated them, had to adjust the parking brake to fit the rear 350mm discs and did a quick test fit of my brackets and calipers. Also took out the cracked and broken drivers light and threw in a quick replacement just till it goes for paint (have ‘99 spec rears to fit when painted). I’ve decided I’ll paint this subframe while it’s accessible, Anyone know the best place to get some POR15, I don’t want to split it like I did the other car. Figure this is meant to be good stuff:innocent:
