Richie's "Blue Thunder" Build Thread!!
Today myself and Jo are off on a little road trip in the X-Trail (she won't go in my newly acquired '06 Renault Megane). We're heading over to County Wicklow with a pair of Z32 driveshafts and a wodge of cash to finally complete my set of 19" :innocent: (Joely) :innocent: Genuine Work Equips:clap::punk::thumbup: These are now the wheels for ole "Blue Thunder":whistling:(FunkySi):whistling: with the Veilsides going on "Redzer" :innocent:(FunkySi):innocent: I'll try and get a few Genuine JDM Wheel pics for the purists while I'm there:yes: Quick question for the experts out there, are the Z32 driveshafts identical to the GTR driveshafts??? Trading in a set or two towards my Works:innocent:

Back door trading
I honestly didn’t see anything wrong with Si’s thread either, I’m in the Group Buy (fully paid up) and I enjoy seeing different ideas on retrims, as it gives me a chance to fine tune my ideas:yes: I also went to Si well before he signed up as a Trader here as it wasn’t his livelihood, just a hobby at that time, his workmanship is second to none and I consider him an asset to this Club. At present there are very few people on here that are considered “experts” in the z32 field, mechanically, we have Jimmer, interior wise, we have Simon, where else can we go where we are fully confident that our pride & joy is getting the best treatment for our hard earned cash:innocent:. We’ve seen before that when a trader decides to cancel his subscription what happens, they’re never heard from again:scared: Simon is a Z32 owner also, so it’s not like he’s just in it for the money, he’s a Club Member, he also innovates and enhances our car interiors to make the 300zx an iconic car that stands out at shows etc. It’s for this reason (and the Clubs benefit) that I’m prepared to pay the Traders sub to keep Simon and Hide n Seat within our community. I saved 25% on my retrim (as have others) so I definitely think it’s worth keeping him here:thumbup1:

In readiness for the Group Buy, a warm up...
Ah man!!! Beautiful craftsmanship Si, you've got me thinking about doing my seats now!!!:innocent: I'd just add each interior to this page or your :innocent:Traders page:whistling:, that people can scroll down through every build in one place, I for one (as most people will do) will update my build threads but it would be great to have them all in one place also:thumbup1:

Richie's "Redzer" rebuild
Cheers Nick, but they won't be going back into it  I got onto the chap who was supposed to be retrimming my Koenig and Sparco seats in back 2013-'14 (long before I knew Mondo), Been onto him for the last 4 years to either do the job he was paid for or give the seats and money back. He's away driving Internationally the last 3 years, we've arranged to meet up and sort it all out Feb 25th. I'll either have a retrimmed set of Koenigs and my original Sparco Torino's or the seats unfinished with cash back. Either set would look well in the 2 seater:thumbup:

Richie's "Redzer" rebuild
Stripped out a good bit of the car, pieces were either pulled apart by previous owners or had mismatched screws / fittings. Pulled the carpets as Joel had mentioned it to me last year to check the floor pan. Drivers side seems solid with rust along the sill line on the passenger side:scared: Another problem is the custom wheel centre’s hit the top of the lug nuts, so it’s back to the shop to have more metal skimmed off:blush:

Richie's "Redzer" rebuild
Back at the Redzer project, had a root around my parts shed and found a perfect condition instrument cluster binnacle with perfect pods, whipped off the old setup and found the red switch wired into the light switch, spliced into the green / red and black wires Going to switch out the clocks for one of the UK spec ones in my stash

Any bikers in the house?
I've always had 1000cc sportsbikes, Fireblades, R1's and GSXR's, Sold my black and candy orange Gixxer in 2016:sad:. Think I'm past the sportsbikes now and have been looking at a MK2 Triumph Tiger 1200, was going to the UK in March/April to find one but now my priorities have changed for the moment:whistling:

What did you do to your zed today?
Nobody doubts your commitment to the club or the Z cars Si, you are an asset here, I love following your exploits and build, it's just that sometimes diplomacy and tactfulness goes out the window with you:lol: You are extremely passionate and that's a good thing for us:thumbup1:

What did you do to your zed today?
At the end of the day, it's up to people what they want to do with their cars. Budgets, options, desirability, reviews, marketing etc. all play a role in what we buy. We would all like to buy the best of everything and in an ideal world we would. These are hobby cars for most, so take a back seat to daily priorities. I don't like it when people try to force their views on everyone else, it is after all, a car forum for advice and banter. You can advise (from experience) what you consider the best option in your opinion is, but it's not fair to roast a guy if he doesn't follow your advice, that's what I'm seeing here (correct me if I'm wrong). I myself have used Kuhmo Ecstas on the Z (when it was driving), Avon's on the Supra and as most of you will be disappointed to hear:whistling: I got big ass brakes with part-worn Dunlop and Bridgestone tyres, (saying that it hasn't moved much and they'll probably be past they're "sell by" date by the time the car is ready). But it is my choice at the end of the day. :innocent: If it goes "Tits up" I'm sure there'll be plenty of "Told you So's". but it's down to the individual to decide. :innocent:I feel this whole tyre discussion should be in the help and advice anyway, not in the "What did you do to your Zed today" thread.:innocent: Just my opinion.:whistling:

My daughter calls it Toothless the Dragon: My ‘95 TT Z
I know it’s not what you want to hear but the Twinz type 2 sits perfectly on the lwb, it’s not that dissimilar (maybe doesn’t turn up as much) Not the best pics but all I’ve got for the moment. It might be an option??

My daughter calls it Toothless the Dragon: My ‘95 TT Z
Sorry to hear this Nick, I was the same when I test fit the Twinz Type 2, It really is a gut wrenching moment when I saw the gap, fortunately the guys mentioned the trims to me also:thumbup1: was going to mention the boot trims but I see the guys got in ahead of me. Car looks fantastic, love a high gloss black. Is the CSL-R really that bad on the boot?? Would it be that noticeable?? It's rare to see one :thumbup1:.

Greetings to everyone from a New 300ZX Z32 Owner
Welcome to the Club Brillo, plenty of useful information on here, both in the FAQ section and also from members. It might be in your best interest to subscribe to the club also, as it opens up an advanced forum with tuning, wheels, tyres, lighting, engine, chassis and other advice:thumbup1:. As Alic has said, bang up a few pics, set up a Wanted ad and get comfortable with the search system. In relation to actual Specialists, we have Jimmer at Powerzed in Bristol for everything Z related regarding engine builds, mechanics, advice etc, Mondo is our resident interior specialist offering bespoke leather trims, including steering wheels, gear knobs, seats and everything else:thumbup1: There are plenty more helpful people who won't put you wrong, so enjoy the experience:thumbup: I think I've a spare pair of exhaust downpipes and a complete OEM centre section out at the homeplace.

- Richie's "Blue Thunder" Build Thread!!
Thanks for the "Heads up" Andrew, I thought it would've been an upgrade seeing as it was the more expensive option available to me, I'll send them a message to leave it as OEM instead so :thumbup1: **Update** Nick has credited the $13 odd and has switched to the OEM brass bushing:thumbup1:- Richie's "Blue Thunder" Build Thread!!
Still hoping for Summer 2018:innocent::yes:- Richie's "Blue Thunder" Build Thread!!

No worries here dude, it takes time to achieve excellence :thumbup1: :punk::punk::punk::punk::punk::punk::punk:- What did you do to your zed today?
I’ve nothing in the prop shaft department buddy, sorry pal. Best of luck with the house move :thumbup1:- Oh dear, oh dear more trouble..
I paid €280 for Bailey, €40 for her shots and we spend €35 bi-monthly for grooming. We keep her clipped short, she has Royal Canin Shi Tzu food, I used to get the 1.5Kg bag at €15 (buy 5 get 6th free), she's small so it lasts 2-3 weeks, but last time I just bought a 7.5 kg bag at €55, its lasting well. Thought the dog specific food was a bit of a scam originally, we had days where we ran out and bought Pedigree dry food, but the groomer knows when we changed, as Bailey's coat was drier and she used to stink the place out:laugh: Jo reckons the dog gets more money and beautification lavished upon her than she does:laugh: Wouldn't have it any other way though:thumbup:- Oh dear, oh dear more trouble..
Highly recommend a Shi Tzu, got one in November 2016 when I was unwell, Bailey’s intelligent, loyal, and a comfort companion after a rough day at work:thumbup: She sits on the arm of the couch and is the first to welcome me home every time, great little guard dog also:thumbup1: - Richie's "Blue Thunder" Build Thread!!
