Ireland is at present having a lot of difficulties with rivers bursting their banks and flooding as presumably you guys are also. The regular roads were closed and this road was deemed fit for travelling on by the council. It's not like I deliberately wrecked my engine after paying the road tax (1296 euro) last week and getting it NCT'd (Irish MOT). Not to mention paying for a full rebuild over the last year and a half. I've only had the car back a couple of weeks.

After spending 3 years and a solid fortune getting the 300 back on the road I've gone and wrecked the engine again :cry: It's my own fault this time as I drove into a "puddle" on the road the same as everyone else going that way but I've got water in the engine :headvswal. I've spun a bearing and the engine sounds like a tractor. I've informed my insurance company who's going to send out an assessor. Out of curiosity, How much would a brand new engine cost from Nissan?? My mechanic is well p***ed with me after all the work he did rebuilding it, he had the cars engine purring. He reckons that the whole engine is scrap as I've probably damaged the rods and crankshaft as well as the new bearings he had fitted:( I've had nothing but bad luck with the 300 from the first week I bought it in 2005. Don't know whether to see about scrapping it or see if the insurance will fork out for a brand new engine. I've a feeling that it will be uneconomical for them and they will write it off:( . It's only got 50,000 miles on the clock!!

Hey Guys, Does anyone know of any couriers that will collect an exhaust system weighing 25kg's and is 2.2metres in length to deliver it to Ireland. The reason being I've bought a second hand exhaust and the chap is having problems getting it delivered due to the size of the parcel. Any Help will be greatly appreciated.. Thanks .. Richie

Can anyone tell me what the dimensions are regarding the Twin Turbo Zeds Clutch and Flywheel as the clutch fitted to mine has a 240mm Wearplate but the Exedy one I just bought has a 250mm one, We think that I've got a NA zeds clutch + flywheel fitted to my twin turbo.. Is this possible or do I have a NA Gearbox as well :confused: Thanks Richie

Hi guys, Is there anyone on here thats living in Ireland that would have a spare twin turbo flywheel?? It seems the clutch that came with my manual conversion is for a NA zed and has lasted only 2 weeks! So my car is sitting in the garage with a new Exedy clutch to be fitted but it won't go onto the flywheel.. ANY HELP OUT THERE ?? Thanks... Richie

Thanks for the help folks, Just out of curiousity.. I paid a deposit of £800 to a z specialist back in 2006, then the muppets over here (Ireland) blew up my engine and its taken till now to sort out the claim and get the car back running.. Would I be wasting my time asking for a credit note so that I could get a few accessories, It has been 3 years after all... I don't want to get into a row with the chap. What do you guys think?? Hey guys, after nearly 2 years of muppets wrecking my engine i've finally got my car back... My mechanic has replaced the oil pump, water pump etc. He says that the car is making 2 bar of pressure whether the engine is hot or cold, Anybody got any ideas what the problem is now:( Is it just a new pressure sensor?? No problem mate.. i've had my pioneer avic x1r headunit swiped by one of the 3 places that spent the last 6 months wrecking my old engine and fitting my new one.. so i'm gonna be running around after them till they replace it!!! they will also be sorting the steering column themselves i was just hoping to find out the problem so they don't have to spend another 6 months trying to fix it !!!!

I've just got my car back after six months waiting to have a new engine put in and mine is doing the same thing !! the whole column including the steerig wheel moves aprox. 1 cm which is quite unsettling when you go round a bend as it makes it feel like the car is sliding .. any ideas??

Hey guys, was told on friday that the API premier engine that was got for my car is finally fitted.. only thing is, they say there is a ticking noise in the engine and they want to sort it before giving the car back, they never specified where the noise was coming from but as the head, block and internals are all replacements with only the ancilliaries coming from my old engine would anyone be able to hazzard a guess?? The area manager has already taken the car to another mechanic. He's just whining that he has to spend time taking bits off mine and refitting them to the new engine!! His complaint is that some of the parts might be aged and that they could break due to their age.. I'm starting to think that he may have just ripped out the old engine and wasn't worrying about damaging it as he thought he was getting a direct replacement!! I haven't seen the car since July!!!!

Where can i get these parts?? would z tech or z centre have them and how much are we talking about money wise???

They've told me that it cost £1500 plus carriage to Ireland. They got the head and block, new gaskets, new cam belt, new valves and pistons, new Nissan cams, new bearings and oil pump. There's a new ptu (series 2), water temp sensor and waterpump on my old engine. I was going to buy the Unorthodox pulley set and the Injen hardpipes to put on it but want to know if I need to replace anything else while they have it out of the car. It also has a 12 month 12,000 mile warranty on it. I was thinking of getting them to fork out for Kirbz engine :D

Hi fellas, I'm back on line after 3 months.. Anyway you might remember a garage over here put 8 litres of oil into my TT engine and wrecked it. They got on to API engines who sent them a "premier engine" which has new pistons,valves, gaskets etc only now they are saying that they thought it would arrive ready to drop in. they weren't expecting to have to take all the ancilliaries off my old engine. I want to know is it a big job and should i be buying new parts to put onto it or will my old parts suffice.. Injectors etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated Richie

Can anyone let me know where I can find a clean reliable low mileage twin turbo engine. I've been on to API who have engines for the 300 but he says he has no premier ones, his are all under 50 k miles but I would like an engine with 30k max?? anyone know where else i can ask??

I gave the wifes cousin a shout. He's a solicitor.. Methinks i'll be setting him on them.
