In pig's support having dealt with such a ****er that he is on about today (who is still fresh in my mind), if some ****wit is driving at silly speeds, intimidating other drivers like this guy was and a lorry decided to hold him up I would have said fair play. Me chasing after him breaking the speed limit and acting like a genreal twat all over him and breaking the law was totally wrong, but all pig was on about was slowing the ****ers down and making them think twice, it's not against the law. He wasn't on about slowing anyone here down who were minding there own on the way to work. TBH if anyone drives like that guy did today then they shouldn't even be driving period, and I think if 99% of people on here saw him driving like he was or anyone like that and someone like pig held him up you would think it was well deserved, not saying it's right but who am I to pass judgement after what I did? Anyway's I drove home at a steady 60 today keeping a low profile pondering over my antics this morning.................

Third and fourth always go on these, isn't it due to a faulty solonoid that selects third and fourth? Think there is two in the box, one does 1st and 2nd other does third and fourth. Your probably looking at a few hundred for a tranny place to do a quick fix, won't last long tho. I'd say like most ppl, go for the emanuel conversion much more reliable, still nothing like doing 100 in second on an auto Z tho lol.

Hi Guys, Well there I was minding my own business doing the speed limit down the dual carriageway to work when some guy in a 4x4 comes blasting down the road on the inside undertaking everyone. He ran out of room to undertake when he got to me, and so pulled out on my ass. Anyways, I couldn't go any faster because another car was infront of me and we were doing the limit anyway! He could see that being twice as high as me! But he remained on my ass swerving left and right in the lane for unknown reasons and just generally driving aggressive, he looked like a complete twat. He tried to undertake me a few times in really small spaces, and eventually managed to and squeezed into a space between me and another car infront (I think he was actually on the cars bumper in front) I had to brake and he didnt indicate the arse, then he had the audacity to slam on his anchors hard to make me back off even though he just squeezed infront within a fagpaper of my bumper and I nearly went into him. At this point I just saw red, I'd seen him driving like a complete lunatic and intimidating a load of people behined me in my mirros and he wasn't doing it to me. I followed him down the road as fast as he wanted to go, I just totally lost it, screaming shouting, chasing him down the road. Now yes, I'm the first to admit that it was totally stupid, and I wish I hadn't of bothered at all now and really regret it, I usually let people like this carry on, if they want to loose their liscence it's up to them, but I just totally saw red :( He then proceeded to slam his anchors on full, and I nearly went up his jacksy. At this point I flashed him let him carry on and I took his reg. Then a Van who was behined a bit started flashing me thinking I was the one who started it and was driving like a lunatic :( Now I was going to report this muppet, but as I lost it too I don't think it's worth the hastle, I just hope when I was following him someone didn't get the wrong idea and now reports me! I totally regret following him now, and did before I even got to work, but you know what it's like when someone does something that just gets to you. I mean who gives him the right to drive like a complete ****, on everyones ass, swerving all over the place, undertaking dangerously, not indicating and driving 120+ towards people? One day I'm sure he will pick on the wrong person and have his head stoved in, but I guess I just wanted to give him a taste of his own medicine and to make him think twice before driving like a complete prick next time down that road. Anyways, I just needed to vent this out somewhere, I don't want to worry the missus about it or tell anyone at work, so just thought I would post it on here to get it off of my chest. Think I'm going to keep a low profile when driving to and from work for the next couple of weeks, and just think back to this when I see anyone like that again, lesson learnt me thinks, just hope nowt comes of it...............................

Cheers guys. My quest continues. For my machine I only require a little movement though, so I'm hopping it shouldn't be too hard, I just want a few inches of movement each way to tilt the seat forward, back and left and right with breaking and steeting to add that extra realism.

cool :D Thanks for the help matey, and big up the nerds lol ;) I've come up with all whacky ideas from suspending the seat from the joists in the ceiling and relying on energy from me moving the wheel to swing it, to mounting it on a giant bearing, to using old electric Z seats lol! Think hydraulics or motors are the best bet tho, pref hydraulics due to the movement speed needed. I'll drop some uni's a line. And yup, I got the software that pics up the wheel movement and calibrates it. Knocking together a program that is PC based and runs the system is spot on, I was thinking all prehistoric like switched and stuff lol!

Hi Guys, I'm in the process of building a racing simulator, for those that are interested; so far it's all set up and working, I've got a Dell XPS lappy as the brains, a 32" monitor for the screen, a cabinet partly built and a functioning full rotation feedback wheel, pedals, clutch and six speed gear box (with push down reverse). I've also fitted a high spec toora seat, with a sub mounted on the arse for engine rumbling and speakers in the headrest. It's comming together nicely but my main issue is getting the seat to move - I've no idea how. The only thing I can think of is some sort of hydraulic set up, a strut on each side one front and back central. I'd need to control them somehow, I'm guessing the front and back can be switched Via switches on the pedals but the side to side i'm not sure. TBH I don't have a clue how hydraulics work or how to even begin looking at a setup, so I need some help and advise really. The only thing I can find on google are lowrider set ups and industrial machinery, I can't seem to tie down and advise that is relevant to me. I'm not sure what other ways this can be done and I'm struggling so if anyone has any expertise in hydraulics or any ideas please let me know. Cheers.

Cracking bit of kit the RL. Launch control is good, and like mentioned you can program two rev limits, only anoying thing with that is that you have to put it on wet, or whatever slip you have assigned to the first setting on the dial. The wet IMHO even when fine tuned is a little too cautious, so could hinder you after a perfect launch. The system runs off of the ABS sensors IIRC, then the system detects wheel movement lauch control toggles off. It's a shame that there aren't any rev limiters for mulltiple coil systems. I've been searching high and low and can't find anything other than this Bee r thing that I'm trying to find out more about. Essentially if you have a rev limiter, you could do two things, activate it on a switch to the clutch so you would have FTS, and you could also rig it to a button on the S/wheel effectively giving you a basic launch control at the same time. But as mentioned, I'm not sure a suitable rev limiter is on the market.

Following on from my massive success on the rev limiter post lmao, I'm wondering about one of these. I remember talking to Jay about them and he thought that the way they limited the RPM was a bit ropey, but we didn't decide in the end whether to try one. Anyway, I'm looking at adapting a secondary rev limiter to make a FTS kit. I'm guessing if the Bee-r works ok as a rev limiter, just have a microswitch on the clutch pedal connecting the positive circuit to the rev limiter so it kicks in when you clutch it. Any thoughts? And has anyone actually used one? Cheers!

Ello guys, Just wondering if anyone knew of a coil on plug rev limiter. You seem to get shed loads for the old dizzy ones and single / dual coil but not for more that two coils. It's driving me nuts! Or if anyone else has an idea of how to cut the revs and fit a limiter on it would be cool. Cheers,

Lol @ the ripping cars to bits, it's so true. I can imagine him being surrounded by every single car on the planet he wanted and taking them apart and still modding them :D He was a great guy and it's the fun memories of how he was like this thats good to remember and will keep him alive :)

Hi guys, as Rich said it's 1pm at the crem in Swindon, Wilts. I'm sure those who want to come can google earth or aa route it, it was only decided yesterday, so sorry for the short notice. I saw the collection thread it's real good of you guys to put in. I've got to get some skates on and arrange some flowers or something from our family as well. I'm not sure if you want to put the collection to flowers, or towards something else but if it's going to be for the funeral someone will need to take the funds and sort out the contribution and bring it to the funeral as there is no time to risk posting it. Other than that something could always be made later and put somewhere in his name or given to his family. Also Jay's mum said there isn't really any dress code, just wear whatever you are confortable wearing and want to wear if you come. I'm still wearing a suit less the tie out of respect for him tho as that's what I would be happy wearing. Cheers,

I'm off now guys, and no there is no news, I doubt there will be until a lot later in the week, it's been spinning my head out thinking about what may have happened, why it happened, and trying to come to terms with it. I spoke to his mother today, she is doing as well as can be expected, I feel a little bad as I was trying to be strong for them when I saw them and help them out, but I just ended up getting upset as well! I'm out of the country until Friday now, going to try and get some sleep, have to be up early in the morning. I think things will go a bit quiet over the days I am off anyway, his family needs time, as do his friends. But rather than question what happened and why, it's best to think back to the good times that were had with him. I know for sure I will never forget him, he will always be with me in my thoughts, heart and mind, and I hope that when my number is up, he will be there waiting, with a cold beer in his hand and a big smile on his face.
