  1. Yup the 997 turbo is lovely, I took one around Thruxton last year: Excuse my anoyingly loud wiltshire accent. Cheers, she's been used a fair bit, just been out in her again this evening, time to put her in the garage now for the rest of the week for a good clean underneath and a rest :)
  2. Cheers guys, Car.Mad, similar to a stock Z with the boost upped a little, the old 3.4 is 300hp, not sure on the torque but will do 176 and 0-60 in low fives. It's a few hundred kilos lighter than the Z though. All in all a very similar feel.
  3. Cheers, yup good value at the mo, I don't think they will drop any more though, or at least not a great deal, so it should be an ok investment if I keep it in top nic. Lol yes, I can't even see how you would change the plugs! Planning on keeping the history up together and getting the annual sevince and checks done by porsche, but I'll be repalcing other parts myself as and when they are needed and if I can get to them lol.
  4. Forgot the one of the motor, at least what you can see of it, and I thought working on Z's was tight!
  5. Well, here is the new weekend toy: Have done about 100 miles this weekend just going here and there, she's tucked up in the garage now after a good cleaning today. Fingers crossed she does me proud, going to be some high maintenance bills on the way though! Hope all the Z's are going well. Cheers, Steve
  6. Thanks Richard, I may start posting more soon, so watch out! ;) I'll get some pics up as soon as the sun comes out - we were promissed 23 degrees here and sunshine today, needless to say it was grey and cold! If she proves to be anywhere near as solid and reliable as the Z then I will be a very happy man :) Cheers,
  7. I admit, a few choice mods such as suspension, tastefull rims and a bit of de-spoilering goes a long way on a Z. I'm not a fan of the stock spoiler or wheels at all, nor larish body kits, but that is just my opinion (each to their own) but the Z can easily be transformed for not a great deal looks wise into a bit of a stunner. Talking about the feel of it and the drive however, it really does feel great as standard. Engine wise, my old Z was running around 360hp, and eventually between Jay, Stewart and myself ended up running closer to 500 (before it's demise through no fault of our own, but that's another story...). It really did go like a rocket, but with high power comes high maintenance.... Like for like though, there really isn't much in it I would say between the feel of these two great cars...
  8. lol @ the advert. If I have enough spare cash and space in the future I would love to get another Z, just to have it to keep really. The old 300's have pretty much all but died, it's proof of what the future could hold for the Z32 if clubs like this weren't around. Unfortunately though, I think all of my spare cash is going to have to go towards keeping my new toy on the road lol. Thankfully it is not a daily driver though, so it shouldn't be getting too much wear. I have looked around on and off for a while, and for the price some Z's go for now they are an absolute bargain, a super car for not a great deal. But you have to be careful with so many neglected cars out there, people just buying them and not having the time or resource to maintain them properly and just flogging them on. In the end sadly they end up on a scrap heap :( There are the ones such as those on this forum though that do dedicate a lot of time and money to these cars, I know of a few guys on here that probably could have bought my new motor twice over with the amount they have devoted to their Z's - now that is dedication for you.
  9. Well, in the past week I finally purchased a car I have craved for a while, a 996 911. I haven't posted on here for a long time, but I still lurk around reading posts. My point in posting was to just say that I shall be raising a glass this evening to....................................... the Z32. Yes that is right! When I sat in the car and drove it, do you know what the first thing was that came into my head? "This feels just like the Z!" and I grinned ear to ear. The 911, feels to me, almost identical to the way my old Z drove, it even smells the same lol. The seats are very similar, the handling is very similar, the steering, the power, the gear box, pretty much everything I can think of reminds me of being in my old Z! It's led to me digging out some old pictures of the girl and remembering the good times I had with her. I can honestly say that I could easily think that I am still driving my old Z. I've had a lot of different cars, sports and family over the past years since she went, and I can honestly say, that the benchmark out of everything (even the e36 M3 I had some years ago) was the Z. It's a true testiment to these motors that the first thing I thought of when I got in the new motor was that it felt like the Z and had to live up to the standard of it. So without any more bullshit, here is to the 300, and to all you guys still on here keeping them alive congrats - continue to do so because it really is a special motor, and once they are gone, they will be gone forever, so please keep them alive! Cheers, Steve
  10. lol, *******! Nice mushroom though. Yeh Jazzy i could extend it more tribal stuff but I've had it for 13 years now so its starting to look a bit date. Was thinking of making it bigger and a little bit more interesting but just don't have any ideas atm.
  11. Hi Guys, One of my tattoos is a little old and basic really, want to update it but I am having a mental block on what can be done. Any photoshop creative types fancy comming up with some suggestions for me? Cheers!
  12. cool, I am very tempted, just a big decision as it means bye bye bike for now and also means we will have to rely on the missus car for family transport.
  13. Just polishing up my bike and going to put on biketrader to get the cash to move to a 350z, just wanted opinions on cost, maintenance, running and general experiences of them if anyone has one so that I can get an idea of what they are like to own. Cheers,
  14. Omega? I hope it's a lotus for that price ;) Speaking of which, Lotus Omega's are a supercar IMHO. Just saying though, Z's have hit rock bottom on price, they are to the average person, an old, expensive to run and maintain nissan, if I look on Autotrader now within 100 miles of me there are 20 and 90% are 2k and below. Obviously a tastefully modified, upgraded / restored club one, will fetch more, but you can't buy a supercar in running condition for that. Supercars are rare, Z's aren't, at least not yet.
  15. Sportscar, you can't buy a super car for 3k........
  16. I'm only going to get rid of my Z when it dies.....
  17. What a sack of shit, someone needs to put it out of it's misery :(
  18. Assassins creed aye :) Nice idea for a prop that severed hand, clever idea.
  19. lol beetlejuice! Quality. Well our work's halloween pary kinda got pushed to me to find a venue / host it this year, and it's always fancy dress. I was looking around and everything was well expensive, so I thought I would make my own so it would cost less. Little did I know it was going to cost a lot more than buying one lol! I've still got some materials to make some other bits and pieces and improve it a bit but I can't spend any more. The best bit is my motorbike boots lol!
  20. I've been working on a costume since Friday for a party I'm hosting on 31st. Just wanted people's opinions and to see if people know who I am supposed to be. It's not meant to be perfect, I don't have 100's of pounds to spend. I've just made similar bits to make it look right (as I think), as it's already cost me about 60 and I really don't want to spend any more! Cheers,
  21. hehe, no worries mate, let me know on the screen, I'll just post it off this week if you want it. You should get over to bikers oracle on the cbr 6'ers board, there's a load of good ppl on there that will help you out with it and possibly donate some bits. With any luck she will fire up :)
  22. Cheers for the ideas, will see how I go and will update!
