  2. Happy birthday stranger xxx
  3. Bit early for Christmas decorations isn't it :p
  4. I've been watching and reading every post on this thread, loving the enthusiasm Mr Bolt (what's your name btw?)... I think you need to be appointed by the committee as a new projects/marketing manager... Have you ever heard of lean six sigma? You could overhaul the club, I'm a black belt do I'll be the deputy! In all seriousness though, I used to live near Bournemouth and was in the south central region. We used to have very regular meets, some small, some large and they were always a great laugh. Joel

I'd be interested depending on dates...
  6. Yeah I think you're right. I reckon I'll get the refurb company to make a close match as possible, touch in just the nick, then give me a little bit of the paint for future touch ups!
  7. 14 years!.. Heartbreaking :-( glad no one was hurt
  8. Just went and took one...
  9. Santa is the targa rebuild professional!!
  10. Yuk, it looks like a badly kitted zed that has just handbrake turned into a large fish!
  11. Angel and the devil! I think you're both right but they seem to be being fair so I think I just need to get the one done and take it from there. If I leave it I think it will annoy me every time I see it, especially knowing it could've been rectified free of charge (potentially!) Unfortunately, this isn't an option as they've been discontinued and are no longer available. I bought these wheels 2nd hand, although they look brand new, I wouldn't be surprised if they had never been fitted to a car! The guy I bought them from said they cost nearly £900 each new, which is why I bought them 2nd hand!
  12. Bloody hell! Hello mate... I wondered where you got to, been trying to track you down and buy your wheels! How was your time away? Jimmer @ powerzed and Jeff @ Zedworld seem to be the current forerunners of reputation, just depends where you want to travel to. It's also worth checking out turbonoz, one of our new forum traders who has a very good reputation for his work. Joel.
  13. The company that I entrusted to install the tyres on my new 19" Volks damaged the paint on the face of one of the rims, oops! They were very apologetic and have agreed to have the wheel refurbed no questions. However!... The wheels are painted in a colour that Volk do not publish the paint code for, nor will they supply paint, called formula silver. The refurb company have just been round and said it will be hard to match but he thinks he can get it close enough. If I wanted the other wheels doing to match it would cost £65+vat each for the other 3. The tyre company have said, if it doesn't match then they will pay to paint the other 3, but only based on the wheels fitted to the car and standing a few feet back. He said they will never get it identical but if its close enough they won't pay. The whole situation is a bit subjective as spotting differences in the paint colour will vary from one opinion to another. It's not just the colour but the overall finish and depth of colour where I think the downfall will be? I'm sure that the oem paint on these wheels is good quality, so I'm also concerned that having it repainted will potentially leave it with a sub standard durability. It's also annoying down to the niggly little details of the stickers on the inside of the rim being missing on that one wheel or all wheels. I'm reluctant to give the refurb company the wheel as once it's done, there's no going back! Just thought I'd have a little rant and see what you lot think? Joel.
  14. I don't believe that Jeff would get enough preorders from within the UK to make it a worthwhile business opportunity so I do understand why he didn't take the plunge. However, the recent Australian pre-order was done on the pretence that if the minimum order was not achieved that everyone would get their money back and the deal would be off. I don't know the ins and outs of the deal but I don't recall seeing a thread on here to scope out the interest in the UK.
  15. If the business model did rely on pre-orders to get the initial profit to finance further manufacturing, and it works, I don't see a problem with that. There is enough demand (maybe not in the UK, but worldwide) to support this model, which has been proven by the first pre-order, a growing reputation for the quality of the products and a huge success in the second pre-order. It may not be the typical corporate ethic when it comes to business but I would rather pay and wait for a product that I really want than it not be made at all because its too costly to manufacture. I am biased as I have purchased TwinZ products and look forward to further developments, one of which I'm already waiting to purchase, but I don't believe that the negative press around a method to make these products accessible for joe public around the world is deserved.
  16. I've never seen that... Pics please!
  17. Yeah 453 now and do just as badly as 452 in reviews! For £20 (camskill) a tyre more you could get Eagle F1's... I bet they'd last longer to warrant that £40 and have infinitely better performance, the best vfm tyre on the market at the mo. if you don't want to push the budget up to that, the Hancock ventus are about £12 more each, I'm not sure of the wear characteristics but I bet they perform better than the falkens. All imo :-)
  18. Cobalt bits need to be run at a slower speed vods, what size bit do you need?
  19. So what's the deal with this saving part of the old bush housing? Do you have pics to explain? When you say 'fit the zed properly', is that because the DW jobbies need a spacer to fit correctly but the ES ones bolts straight up?
  20. Cheers for the advice chaps. I think I'll buy the ES hyperflex kit which has the subframe bushes in as the rest of the bushes need doing anyway. If I don't use the subframe bushes I'll sell them on.
  21. Very nice, I have a big soft spot for just about all rays/volk wheels.
