  1. TBH it doesn't even look like the Z is trying. There's no accelleration at all from the start??
  2. If it ain't broke don't fix it I say :D Lots of big BHP cars are still using the standard fan.
  3. What you trying to say? Might give that a go (the tippex, not the dogging site) LOL
  4. Get one that is proven on these cars as they can be a nightmare. I'd get one from Luke at Z Centre, he's been fitting them for years and knows his stuff. http://www.zcentre.co.uk
  5. Not sure what a good price is on them as mine was done under warranty after I bought the car years ago. Try Mike at MJP in the traders section, he can usually do great prices on Nissan parts. The bearing has to come off to drop the prop so won't cost any extra in labour to fit.
  6. That's the sensor in the steering column to show what direction you are steering. If the sensor is stuck showing you're doing a never ending turn the ECU knows it can't be right and the HICAS light comes on and disables the system. If you have an aftermarket steering wheel then maybe it's not on straight or you haven't used the correct replacement HICAS boss to mount it. Could be a faulty sensor but never heard of them failing. Could also be your tracking is way out and the wheel hasn't been centred before adjusting it?
  7. I had one on my car when it was an auto and found it made a big improvement. My box lasted about 2 years after I fitted it but I was also running 16psi of boost and hammered it on a daily basis LOL

I've had the Turbo XS ones on for a couple of years with no probs and they're the loudest available if that's what you like. I got mine from http://www.z1motorsports.com complete with fitting kit. Dead easy to fit.
  9. If you mean where does that big connector go inside it's down to the ECU on the inside under the passenger floor board and the other end goes to all sorts of stuff in the engine bay
  10. Some specific modems can do this but not many. I presume you ARE using a modem cos I'm sure it's not possible on broadband...
  11. I can't remember off the top of my head - I'll try and have a look in the morning. The outside edge of the tyre is pretty flush to the edge of the arch so I really can't understand what's going on.
  12. Piece of pi$$ then! Always thought the hub had to come off to do em :D :hyper:
  13. Most common vibration problem is the prob centre bearing so probably that needs replacing. If it's been off the car it could be the prop halves have been put back together out of alignment but that's pretty easy to sort by unbolting it and turning it 180 degrees.
  14. Cheers! How much of a job is it to get the hubs off and can I change the studs easy enough with normal tools?
  15. If I change the studs I can experiment with different spacers I suppose. Does anone know how easy studs are to change? Where can I get longer ones from and how much? Edit: Found these but what length are stock ones? http://www.courtesyparts.com/nismo/bolts/index.html
  16. Suspension arms are a shiney gold colour and can't see anything and the tyre has gone through the metal :o LOL Suppose a lot depends on the wheel offset you all have. I'm using 245/35/18's and would like to get 255's on but might be better dropping to 235's. 255's are actually cheaper too - I presume they're a popular size. Spoke to Mac and he had same problem with exact same wheels as me and only cured it by using a 225 but that seems tiny for a 8.5" rim  Surely if the camber and toe in are set correctly and it's not catching anything then it shouldn't matter what size tyre is on as it should be planted square on the road?
  17. Hmmm just remembered they're not bolts but nuts so either new studs in the hubs or the bolt on type like Mr Bunny. Where did you get those and how much? My wheels are pretty tight to the outside arches so even 10mm might be too big but I want a bit of clearance :(
  18. Wondering if trying a set of wheel spacers on the front might stop my tyre wear if it's caused by rubbing on suspension - the camber is set correctly on adjustable upper arms. Thinking of a 5mm to 10mm spacer so I presume I'd need new bolts. Does anyone know of a quality set at a good price?
  19. Sounds like an excuse for a few pints of Guiness tonight :duffer: :duffer: :duffer: Please be careful, there's a new virus going round this weekend:
  20. He has a reserve of £100 so probably expecting more like £150 for them. You can get a brand new set of 285/18 tyres for about £225 if you shop around so he's way overpriced even if they are good tyres. With a puncture I wouldn't give £50 the pair.
  21. Hmmmmm look half worn to me and one has a puncture!
  22. Will get this set up on mine when it's eventually running right. No baffles in my zorst to blow out :D LOL Launch control sounds cool too :D
  23. What tyres are you all using on the front? Beginning to wonder if my lowering springs, the offset of my wheels and tyre size is causing it to rub on the upper suspension arm? Hard to tell when the car isn't moving.
  24. He's always had a few screws loose LOL
