  1. I doubt you'd get away with it but you could try if you've only had the car a few days. If you didn't know you had a rear fog then they will ask how it got MOT'd and why you can't operate your car LOL. Ignorance is no excuse etc etc... :slap: :mac1: Imports don't have a rear fog as standard and most people fit the switch somewhere around that pod, just like mine. ;)
  2. It's not just a fog light switch on an import is it?
  3. Not if you buy the proper hub mounting kit ;)
  4. It's a long time since I looked into auto repairs but I think you'll be looking at about £1200 to recondition and refit!? Could be wrong. I decided to convert mine to a manual for about £600 with a 2nd hand box.
  5. If it started slipping then it could be the clutch packs worn out, in which case it's a recondition job :( Were you thrashing it at the time? Is the car cold now? When this happened on mine I found it was OK for a bit when cold but as it warmed up the slip got worse until it wouldn't move but first and reverse were fine. Is it an import? If so, try pressing Hold and pull away in a higher gear to see if that works?
  6. Thinking of removing the aircon stuff before putting the engine back in. Still can't decide if I'll miss it but it's less to go wrong and possibly a bit of extra power/weight saving  Do you need to plug any holes that are left in the bulkhead/heater system?
  7. I forgot about that! Best bit was Tooley heading sideways towards a phone/cable box in someones garden :D LOL I shit myself after the donuts when somebody said the cops were on their way and we all left but my Z would only do 5mph in first! LOL Simon, I've got a spare auto ECU you could borrow but I've never heard of them going faulty before...
  8. Some people say that it feels a bit vague on the limit but for the average driver it's meant to help you out. Removing it makes it like any other rear wheel drive car. I think it can save weight too by allowing removal of a few components.
  9. Have you moved the lever out of neutral? :D My box did this after doing donuts at Johnny's once. Anyone still got the video? :D As Andy said, disconnecting the battery sometimes sorts its head out!
  10. Won't fit a UK car as the mountings are upside down and the screws turn the opposite way :D
  11. or even a plane! :x: :D
  12. LOL I've got one of those and they do make a very good errr... torch! :D
  13. I've got a new standard radiator for sale too. Only done 200 miles!
  14. You might have to empty the bottle before you fly ;) Could be fun letting it out in the airport!
  15. Well I think we finally got to the bottom of things! I'd get straight on to the police about this if I were you. Can you prove you were displaying the badge if they query it? Having said that, they didn't mention you were on double yellows so they must know you had a badge I suppose.
  16. Well I never knew they had changed from orange to blue badges so apologies if my joke isn't funny - they rarely are! You learn something new every day as they say ;)
  17. Wingnuttzx? Who's got big ears on the forum? :D
  18. I didn't know Bruce Springsteen was playing at Milton Keynes! And Mercedes are paying?! :D
  19. I bet you can hear that thing whistle! I'm not so sure it's a good idea having an open turbo sticking out of your bonnet though! Could be VERY expensive!
  20. So what does a blue badge mean? I use viagra and can't walk? Is there a massage parlour opposite that we can't see? ;)
  21. LOL I'd love to know what the excuse is and if you informed all the local coppers of your special exemptions?! :D
  22. The road is one way so he's not parked in the wrong direction. It's a shallow bend so it doesn't look like he's obstructing traffic. But... you are parked on double yellows so it's no waiting at any time. I'm not sure if you are allowed loading time on these but as you didn't approach the police, they probably thought you'd left it there. :(
  23. Here's a pic of them fitted: Might be worth mailing SPL Parts or Z1 Motorsport and asking them.
  24. The stock recirc valves will have been removed and blanked off. BOV's (like recircs) are meant to be fitted as close to the throttle bodies as possible so that's why they are often moved up top. Also you can show them off better that way ;)
  25. As far as I know all the kits are fibreglass copies. They are a lot cheaper than the originals but if you don't want fibreglass you haven't got much choice. The bumpers are bolt on replacements for the standard one.
