I actually ordered those Andy, but I changed to the spacers after waiting a month for them holding the rest of my order back. I've got one leaky bush but I'm hoping the spacers will hide it from the MOT ;) and improve things until I have time to do the job properly.

I've ordered a set of those but I won't know what they are like for a while.
  3. Where in Yorkshire are you? You could borrow my MAS to test things out.
  4. The problem with ordering from Japan is the language barrier (have you tried reading their websites for a start?!), shipping costs and weeks for delivery. U.S is the way to go IMHO Most stuff can be with you in a couple of days and the exchange rate is very good at the moment.
  5. Yeah very nice mate! I've got 18" A's and they are a simple design but it really suits a chunky Z. Some of the newer designs with thin spokes just look weedy on a big car.
  6. You might as well have just plugged 6 fuel pipes into the cylinders :D It's going to be thirsty on WOT that's for sure! :duffer: :duffer: :duffer: :duffer: :duffer: :duffer:
  7. Cheeky fecker. She was 17 three weeks ago LOL
  8. Well I was just thinking how fit the new girl on reception is until I found out I'm twice her age LOL
  9. Thanks peeps! I'm only a day late reading this LOL Happy birthday Dave! Jeeez i'm starting to feel old
  10. I'd go for the controller every time. You can turn the boost down when it's wet/hot/the mrs is driving. Turn it up when the Lambo pulls up next to you at the lights! Most controllers have limiters so you can't overboost if you set it at a sensible level. Putting welding tips in has lots of disadvantages: Full boost all the time - not much fun in the rain/snow especially in an auto. No adjustment for atmospheric pressure or temperature so you'll have a different amount of boost every day - Too much boost when it's hot so you'll soon hit safety boost on a warm day and have no power! Difficult to tell exactly what boost you'll get when you fit them - all cars vary. Difficult to remove. Boost spikes can take you well over the level you are wanting. Why do you need the safety boost during warm up? Do you always thrash it when it's cold?!
  11. Yes it's a very large family site.
  12. My engine is on the drive so I'm in no hurry right now
  13. I fitted a Blitz turbo timer and never got round to getting it working with my Autowatch alarm so I'd be interested in this.
  14. Clean for about 5 years but in the past I've been banned for 28 days and had 11 points on my license. 6 of those were for driving without due care and attention when I pulled out of a junction and hit a car LOL All the rest were 3 point speeding offences (lots of them over the years!) and the ban was for doing 70 on a 40mph dual carriageway near Donnington when I was late for a rally stage. I did get the thumbs up from Juha Kankkunen and a burnout from Colin McRae as they passed the copper filling out the ticket though! :D
  15. A friend of mine just got one of these and it is very good. Explains why after loads of messing about last night I couldn't get a bluetooth connection!
  16. Every road is an autobahn isn't it?! :D I was going to use the thermostat that's normally fitted to switch on and pump the oil through the cooler when it gets very hot. I'm aware it's not too good running (or trying to pump) cold oil. Doesn't seem like too much work to do, just wondered where to mount it.
  17. The Greddy one uses standard lights so I'd say no.
  18. I bet it cost a fortune to do and to change it back now would be very hard. I think the insurance job is the best bet! :x: I bet he's gutted :(
  19. See this too: http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=31993 If you're going to do it then at least you're starting the job the right way.
  20. Not sure if this has already been posted on here but just read through all the compliments! http://www.corsasport.co.uk/board/viewthread.php?tid=140331 My fave: "my advice is burn the fcuking thing, claim insurance money and with 20-30pounds of the insurance money buy a decent hatchet and cut the bodyshops heads off" Even the Corsa boys don't like it
  21. LOL You might wish you'd asked the questions BEFORE buying the stuff! I hope you are getting it done VERY cheap as there's a LOT of work involved. You could probably have picked up a TT engine for £500 to £1K and sold your N/A engine to get most of that back. I'm not so sure the guys in the U.S will actually be able to reliably set up an ECU for you when all the bits you are using are going to be none standard and using different fuel. You could have got the ECU sorted by a few of us on this forum for a few beers if it was a normal engine. Are you getting cams, manifolds, turbo fittings, intercoolers and plumbing, fuel system, plenum etc? They are all different on a TT as are lots of other bits. Not sure if the N/A pistons and rods are as tough as on the TT? Sure you don't have to make it the same spec as a stock TT Z but i hope you aren't just expecting to bolt turbos on your N/A and it's done. It's pretty easy to get a stock TT to 400 ish BHP but this conversion will be one hell of a job to do and I doubt you'll get near that figure without spending some serious cash. I've replaced my engine done the auto to manual conversion and there are some massive costs that are easily overlooked and you'll have far more of them this way - gaskets, seals, fluids, machining parts etc. All I can say is good luck and get working some overtime to pay for it. Chris.
  22. That looks fantastic matey! When did you fit the nitrous kit and is it any good? :D

The last Z's came in Version-R or Version-S specs ;) I think one had sporty kit and the other was more luxurious.
  24. I wouldn't bother fitting turbo's as there's lots more stuff that's different and it'll cost you an absolute fortune. You could probably buy a rusty TT Z and swap the engine, ECU etc for a lot less. I think this is what Topless did. You'd be better getting the ECU done here as they use different octane fuel in the U.S...

Sounds more like the car is just overheating to me - I'd be careful you don't fry the engine until you find out the cause. Usually when the matrix goes you end up with smelly water in the footwell.
