  1. The weight on the gearbox wouldn't cause those symptoms, I removed mine ages ago and didn't notice any difference.
  2. Found a place 2.5 miles away just outside Harrogate that can do a full 4 wheel alignment but thanks anyway chaps! :)
  3. You need 18's to fit the Skyline brakes
  4. You won't need bigger injectors until you upgrade the turbos but other than that pretty much what you said.
  5. 1 week to go! Woo hoo! :D
  6. Need to get my camber kit fitted this week before I go to germany but can't find anywhere local to adjust it. I've tried most of the usual places offering wheel alignment but none can do the camber. Not had much look searching on the net either  Anyone know of a specialist in the north?
  7. Replace the alternator, it's probably worn ;) I'm sure you can get supressors that go on the back of your stereo to do the same thing.
  8. It's a big can of gas and oil with some adapters and a pressure gauge of some sort. I had a look on their website for more info but it's not listed, although there was something similar on there. I didn't see what gas it was using though but maybe they do different versions or are all cars using one standard these days?
  9. I saw a kit in Halfords the other day to do your own for £40 Does anyone know if this will work on a Z. I think it was a Simoniz product but might be wrong.
  10. Happy birthday mate, have a whole bottle of vodka on us  If you need a hand getting home or picking up your teeth again let me know! Chris
  11. Is this for real?
  12. A rabbit walks into a pub and says to the barman "Can I have a pint of beer and a Ham and Cheese Toastie?" The barman is amazed but gives the rabbit a pint of beer and a ham and cheese toastie. The rabbit drinks the beer and eats the toastie, he then leaves. The following night the rabbit returns and again asks for a Pint of Beer and a Ham and Cheese Toastie. The barman, now intrigued by the rabbit and the extra drinkers in the pub (because word gets round) gives the rabbit the pint and the toastie. The rabbit consumes them and leaves. The next night, the pub is packed, in walks the rabbit and says "A pint of beer and a Ham and Cheese Toastie please barman" The crowd is hushed as the barman gives the rabbit his pint and toastie and then burst into applause as the rabbit wolfs them down. The next night there is standing room only in the pub, coaches have been laid on for the crowds of patrons attending, the barman is making more money in one week than he did all last year. In walks the rabbit and says, "A Pint of Beer and a Ham and Cheese Toastie please barman", smiling and accepting the tributes of the masses. The barman says, "I'm sorry rabbit, old mate, old mucker but we are right out of them Ham and Cheese Toasties!" The rabbit looks aghast, the crowd has quietened to almost a whisper, when the barman clears his throat nervously and says, "We do have a very nice Cheese and Onion Toastie" The rabbit looks him in the eye and says, "Are you sure I will like it?" The masses bated breath is ear shatteringly silent. The barman, with a roguish smile says," Do you think that I would let down one of my best friends? I know you'll love it" "Ok" says the rabbit, "I'll have a Pint of Beer and a Cheese and Onion Toastie" The pub erupts with glee as the rabbit quaffs the beer and guzzles the toastie, he then waves to the crowd and leaves. NEVER TO RETURN!!!!!! One year later in the now impoverished public house, the barman (who has only served 4 drinks tonight, 3 of which were his) calls time. When he is cleaning down the now empty bar, he sees a small white form, floating above the bar. The barman says "Who are you?" To which he is answered: "I am the ghost of the rabbit that used to frequent your public house" The barman says "I remember you, you made me famous, you would come in every night and have a Pint of Beer and a Ham and Cheese Toastie, masses came to see you and this place was famous" The rabbit says "Yes I know" The barman said, "I remember, on your last night we didn't have any Ham and Cheese Toasties, you had a Cheese and Onion one instead" The rabbit said "Yes, you promised me that I would love it" The barman said "You never came back, after that fateful night, what happened?" "I DIED", said the Rabbit. "Bugger" said the barman," what from?" After a short pause the rabbit said... "Mixing Me Toasties!!!!"
  13. The kit still doesn't replace the most common leaky pipes but is well worth fitting all the same. Check the tiny piece of pipe under the fuel regulator (small mushroom shaped thingy to the right of the engine cover at the back. This is the most common leak. Then check the piece of pipe joining the fuel rails together, hidden under the throttle linkages at the front centre of the engine. Hard to get to if it's this though. Try putting talc on all the pipe ends before you start it one morning and it will show you where the leaks are ;)
  14. I've tried all the different bulbs available and they make a slight improvement but usually burn out in days or weeks. Just fitted HID's and the difference is staggering! Light up the whole road like on any good modern car setup. I wouldn't waste your money on bulbs just put it towards some HID's which you can get for about £150 now. Fitting takes 5 minutes and is just the same as changing the normal bulb - put the bulb unit in as normal and plug the control box into your bulb connector.

  16. That last one is all too familiar I'm afraid! I once got called out to a company as their network had gone down. The manager was being a complete bitch when I arrived and moaned about the sh!te service and cr@p system we had installed and how nobody in the company could do any work etc etc. After trying a couple of PC's and noticing it was a bit dark in the office I tried the light switch - nothing! Went to the office next door and asked if they had power? No. Mentioned to the manager that there was obviously a power cut and she said "Well I need the system working, it's your job to sort it out, that's why we have a maintenance contract!" Oh dear...
  17. Wouldn't wear a pair of slippers if my life depended on it! If you feel the need then you really are getting old  One of my mates once went to work on the bus and sent me a text half way saying "You won't beleive what I've done... left my slippers on" Replied with "What a tit!" and spent the whole day texting him asking how the hundereds of people in the call centre he worked in liked his new footwear

Stick with it mate, it will be worth it in the end and you'll get sod all cash for it at the mo. I've been through hell with my car and it's been off the road for about 3 years of the 6 i've owned it LOL but it's now running well and just needs a few details sorting. It's well worth it when you get a car like this sorted and once it's done and paid for you'll have a very flash performance car that costs you very little in the long run. A guy made me an offer for it the other day starting at £10K and was prepared to pay more but I wasn't interested. (I've spent maybe £25K on it but I'd never expect that back) After the time and effort I've put in I won't sell it for anything at the mo.

How about you sell it Mac then buy mine and have the silver Z you always wanted
  20. Get a copy of Norton Ghost or Partition Magic. It will do exactly what you're wanting. Copies the entire drive to your new one then you can remove the old one and format it or whatever.
  21. LOL will someone please lock this thread
  22. Later cars have electronic HICAS but most of us have earlier cars with the hydraulic system. Just removing the fuse doesn't fully lock the system it just stops the wheels steering so you still really need an eliminator bar.
  23. The flywheel and pulleys are usually thought of as part of the engine... they go on the big lump under the bonnet ;) Underdrive pulleys are lighter and also "under drive" or turn the anciliaries slower so you aren't wasting as much energy on other things. If you lighten it like you said you'll have more power! Not that hard to understand is it? I'm sure I said in the first post they will give an increase :mac1: LOL
