  1. First off Take a good look for leaks underneath Go and start it on a cold day and see if it smells of petrol, common problem easily fixed The start up with 15 mins of smoke...was this condensation or real smoke? if smoke what colour? As for boost it really should go past the 2nd line as i believe that is safety boost but the gauges are notoriously crap!! You need to take it for a longer drive on a dry day. When you floor it the power light should come on for 10 secs on the display on the dash ( this tells you the box wont change up till the redline ) Make sure the hold function works ( this pulls away in 2nd gear and changes up earlier) Make sure the overdrive is working ( it gives the autobox a 4th gear) Make sure the gearbox oil is clean and unburnt, remember the first thing you will want to do is fit a autobox cooler to it as this is a problem . If i think of anything else I will add to it Heres welcoming you to the world of Z fun
  2. Thanks guys Hopefully it will be around that mark as I have just had a week on hols and am skint.
  3. My 91 J spec auto seems to be leaking from the rear crank seal as it has all the signs... engine oil dripping from the bellhousing ( about a inch long small pool every night ) and all other culprits looking dry. How much should I be looking to pay for this work as the box will need to come out, remember that as I live in penzance I will be using a local garage that does good work as travelling to the specialists is a bit far .
  4. Sme very good low level flying there. Be a bit worried about bird strike tho at those lvls
  5. Why dont you all come to penzance and admire the scenery :nana2:
  6. :hyper: oh you want to know what it is
  7. I have a Idea I have a Idea
  8. Try living in friggin Penzance, then you can complain about driving distances.
  9. sorry ive had a few and just got in so am a bit ........w*nkered
  10. im not too sure about this but i think that the 99 one was made in 99 ish
  11. The advantage is if u have a balanced and lightened crank and crankshaft it will rev quicker and higher with a higher degree of safety. forgot to add with other mods of course
  12. Yeh forgot to mention support I have played around with a similar sort of idea myself but couldnt make a bussines proposition out of it
  13. Mate you are looking to turn a hobby into a worklife Tough to do as a hobby implies perfectionist levels. not really a viable bussiness proposition for a start up. Sorry
  14. ok heres some info from an aircraft engineers point of view The red zone is not usable in normal circumstances It can be used for a limited period in exceptional circumstances the limits for this use will vary but in the aircraft world pulling max power into the red zone is for seconds only and then results in extensive engine testing afterwards. Feel free to try it but dont worry about engine life as you wont really have any without extensive engine mods to cope with additional stresses
  15. having looked at the pics i dont think where i want to place it will work though...rethink
  16. I wasnt going to fit it in front of the rad though , want to angle it back slightly and place under the engine oil cooler
  17. Im gonna do a oil cooler fit to my auto box but which pipe is the feed and which is return and does it matter which way they go into the cooler? What size fittings are they as well so i can get the right ones on the cooler Thanks
  18. Ok it looks like the garage i picked my car up from have managed to get tyre shine on the tread of the tyres as I tried wiping the tread and the same muck came off as from the sidewall( kinda explains why the back end was so slippy ) Any ideas on how to clean the tread to get it off, was wondering using something like fairy powerspray or just go do a mad burnout.
  19. I have a Jap spec and its the same wont work below 45 ish

Personally for myself Pentjak Silat is damn awesome
  21. The fuel smell is probably the pipes in the engine bay being a bit loose and needing a retighten, you have to remove the centre cover to get to em all and watch out for the one on the right hand side under the FPR as its a pig.
  22. I tightened all the pipes i could see and it wasnt till i got the torch out i spotted the small pipe under the frp was leaking like a 50p whore after a busy night( sorry about the imagery)
  23. Hi Jeff Thx for your advise on the stalling probs. I am ok on setting up base idle and the tps setting, but what is the process for throttle ballancing? Thx Kev
