  1. very handy guide - always wondered where the socks went back when I removed my plenum!! :D
  2. LOL! good point & I stand corrected!! :blushing:
  3. god - prepared to be bored to tears LOL!! it used to be a 1 day course & they have now stretched to out to 2 days
  4. the point is - its a failure!! Sorry!
  5. LOL! ok ,perhaps I should have included the method of inspection: presence and security of brake back plates, wheel cylinders and calipers reason for rejection: a brake back plate, wheel cylinder or caliper securing device loose, missing or excessively deteriorated :D
  6. no - its a reason for rejection - ie, failure!
  7. from the testers manual reason for rejection: a brake back plate, wheel cylinder or caliper securing device loose, missing or excessively deteriorated
  8. not done one on a nissan - but on Mercs your open a link on the chain, join the new one & wind the engine over, then disconnect & rejoin the new chain. piss easy!! :)
  9. Just dremmeling a big "Z" on the back of my phone now!
  10. if your car has been lowered this will have the same effect & put the camber out too
  11. its not actually - higher octane fuels generally have a lower calorific value than a lower octane fuel (fuel quality being the same) - what it does allow is more agressive tuning to acheive more power :)
  12. the difference between normal & super is mearly a resistance to knock (det) - super unleaded has a higher resistance so it shouldnt really cause running problems as such, simply be more prone to det. If you have increased boost pressure then only use super! poor running is either in your head or just down to poor fuel quality - not the RON rating.
  13. it does spin all the time but is not really driven with power until the viscous fan cuts in as described by redwine - being a viscous coupling it is the viscosity of the oil that determins if the clutch cuts in to drive it fully depending on air temps over the viscous coupling from the radiator. if the temp is not hot enough it will be allowed to freewheel to prevent the engine being sapped of power by driving it :)
  14. hmm, I think this is a trick question. I keep looking at the options but "fit a 99 spec" appears to be missing!! :D (you know you want to Richard!)
  15. UK models have a foglight switch on the right & a light in the cluster jap imports do not have a rear fog lamp & need converting for the UK with a lamp & switch - usually a switch that illuminates when on is fitted. HTH :)
  16. any engineering company should be able to do it cheap - find a place that refaces cyl heads etc & they should be able to sort it :)
  17. something for the weekend sir?! :D I'm sure theres an app for that!
  18. iphone 4S all the way for me - its the simplicity that I love. The simplicity is almost genius in its creation. Whereas most things seem to have to be overly complicated to make it "advanced" its just the way the iphone works so easily is a winner for me. The phone/screen is a perfect size for me - I hope apple dont get caught up in the almost tablet sized phnes for future releases - it looks like Dom Jolly with some of the phones coming out now!! plus I get in my car - plug into my ipod interface for all my tunes. Go to a hotel here or abroad & most have audio with ipod interfaces in the room. Not seen any "HTC interfaces" yet LOL! :p all in all it does all I want & is clearly a quality product in design & as a finished product. everyone is different & I know people seem to hate them (fook knows why if they are honest?! Its not like I hate any other product out there - I just prefer the iphone!) anyway - get an iphone as the rest are crap copies at the best!!
  19. Got a nice long weekend break - off first thing tomorrow & back tues evening  Anyone been - nice places to eat/drink/see?
  20. PMSL!! probably one of the easiest cambelts to do! Most fords were piss easy back then I remember doing my Capri OHC when it snapped - done it at the side of the road in about 20 mins LOL!! I know loads of techs that hate cambelts though - a few of my guys get worried as all of our engines have always been chain drives & when they get a car with a cambelt to do it is like a major panic!!
  21. Very nice & very clean - I was up there & took a piccie of this & I'm not really one for taking pics of engine bays so must be good LOL!! :D
  22. Gutted mate. Just heading up there now
  23. agreed - bloody lovely car there. Bet the new owner is well chuffed! I would be! (if I didnt have mine LOL!) :)
