you may have to fight them to get them to deal with this - ask to speak to the manager & quote the sale of goods act - they will probably back down!

not being funny but most employees are unaware of the rights under UK law!! It is the seller not the manufacturer that is liable!! Most shops will try not to honour this as it is too much agro & they know the manufacturer will deal with it. Here is the section from the SOGA: Your responsibilities for the goods you sell You are responsible for the goods you sell and if a customer returns an item they purchased from you that is faulty (it does not conform to contract) because it does not match the description is not of satisfactory quality is not fit for purpose . you (not the manufacturer or supplier) are legally obliged to resolve the matter with the customer at any time for up to six years from the date of purchase, or in Scotland for up to five years from the discovery of the problem. Any refund, repair or replacement you arrange with your customer relating to faulty goods must not cause them too much inconvenience and you will have to pay for other costs, for example, collection or delivery. If you disagree with a customer's claim, you can ask if they are willing for you to send the item to a third party or the manufacturer for inspection. If the customer agrees you can do this, it is important to remember that the goods must not be damaged during this process. Customers' rights remain the same whether the retailer is acting as an agent or principal.

PMSL!! :lol: its a bit like some big fat guy drinking diet coke for weight loss but still eating 5000 calories each day sitting on a couch watching TV doing feck all else thinking its gonna help - it wont. Not even a little bit. If you are going to strip you car then sure - every little helps I guess, but in the grand scheme of things in a car like this the saving on its own is going to be negligable! keep it IMO :)

If the bore is ok then a valve or seat is more likely TBH A worn cam lobe would not cause lack of compression - the valves would just not open or close enough or not at all - they would be closed more than usual rather than remaining open to cause compression loss. I have seen worn valves on some engines (not these though!) - they can wear around the collet causing them to drop. Also valve & seat wear or guide wear causing the valve not to sit flat on the seat. Head gasket failure that drastic would usually have other symptoms too! A leakdown test would prove what the fault is before stripping down

You could always get the spoiler of your choice carbon dipped - that way you can still choose from any spoiler :)

LOL! :lol: Dont forget as I said previously your plate will only measure total toe & not individual toe which is important on the rear as you could have a lot of offset causing the thrust angle to be out ;)

Hi Bud, compression problems are really rare on these engines. I cant think of one single instance that we have had!! Usually mechanically the AMG engines are pretty bullet proof so would be interested in what has caused low compression on yours not sure of the exact figure but yes - there would be a rev limiter built in. keep me posted & hope all goes well Paul

there are loads of people that think the 89 spec looks better but the 99 looks soooooooo much better IMO! Had mine on for years now & think the 89 looks so dated now. I am happy for people not to like the 99 spec as they are getting more common than the 89 spec one!! Bloody copiers making them for everyone cheap now :D

to be honest they are not too bad as a quick check & have used these before. You are not going to get the car aligned as accurately as using a computerised alignment but it should stop wear the other thing is that as it only knows the total track it will not know if you have too much toe on one side compared to the other - so you could have a total toe reading of 0 degrees for example but you could have + half a degree on one side & - half a degree on the other side which will still cause skipping or pulling for example HTH :)

OTB is great with some excellent prices, we use it all the time & I have booked loads of holidays with them - BUT: they do not offer package holidays, you book the flight & hotel seperately. Even if you book them "together" at the same time they are 2 seperate elements & because of this they are not bound by the same ABTA/ATOL rules as other companies when you book a package deal. This means that if one part is changed (say the flight is cancelled by the flight operator) then you are still liable for the other part (hotel) - so if you cannot get another flight (at your own cost) then you still have to pay for the hotel!! In all the years I have used them I have not had one single problem - my girlfriends sister used them on our recommendation & this happened!! Although after contacting customer services she did get it sorted they are not under any obligation to sort anything out!! Just a point to be aware of - we still use them! :) Anyway - what sort of budget do you have??

I didnt think the GTT's were any bigger than stock Z32's? Is it not just the GTR brakes that are an upgrade for us?

yes mate - if its the same type I am thinking of then it should have a vacuum line going to it which opens & closes the EGR valve - these fail & do not hold a vacuum. If possible then test with a vacuum pump to see if it holds. If not then the cell diaphragm has split inside the EGR valve & needs replacing. Not sure if they deal with retail customers but TPS offer really good trade deals, you may need someone in the trade with an account to get you one: http://www.thetradepartsspecialists.co.uk/ Otherwise it might be worth checking out EuroCarParts to see if they do one :)

The problem is usually the vacuum cell - cleaning it would make no difference in this instance. They are not too expensive IIRC
