what happens if your E.G.R valve goes pop?
no, as i said it is there for the reduction of NOx, which is not part of our emission test

Got It!!!!!
stick it on auto on the pod on the left of the steering wheel to turn A/C on, then use the temp up/down buttons!

congrats on the new purchase :D

Throttle body
doesnt suprise me john, theres a lot more to an inlet manifold than having a large TB!!!

Throttle body
exactly. everyone always thinks the way forward is to increase the size of everything on the intake, heads, valves etc. unless you know what you are doing then you can loose power!! you can effect the swirl in the combustion chamber which is no good, & remember - increasing anything on the intake to the point where it is beneficial when actually needed (ie big turbos) will cause more lag!! as there is a larger volume of air to compress!

iv changed my mind then!!

yeah, i did bring this up once before!! EGR works by lowering combustion temps, which also, as we know, helps prevent det! ;)

99 spec front bumper query!
1 - there is a OEM mesh that fits the main intake - its bloody expensive tho!! any after market mesh bonded on will be fine. although the bumper may feel very flexible now, when its all bolted on its far more rigid. 2 - mines still got the splash guard - cant remember exacly how i fixed it now tho?? 3 - yes!! ;)

what happens if your E.G.R valve goes pop?
EGR is Exhaust Gas Recirculation. its there for emission reasons. it reduces NOx by lowering combustion temps by recirculating some exhaust gas back into the inlet manifold. if it leaks then it may cause engine running probs & uneven idle

Mac - will yours still have the stock PTU, or does your new engine management replace that??

Engine nearly finished
i think more to the point, its actually quite enjoyable doing something like this if you know how. i wouldnt trust anyone else to work on my car anyway!

remember, a higher octane just allows you to run higher boosts without det. just adding high octane fuel without any adjustment is gonna give you very little, if any improvements

Oil - You get what you pay for!
not sure on the name - iv got to contact Mobil next week. I dont use Mobil 1 in mine, was just wondering if there are really that much more benefits over the Synt S. weve always stocked Super S which is semi, & Mobil 1. just now were upping the min standard oil to a fully synth, is there much difference?? ive always used Mobil S with an oil change every 3K miles (costs me nowt ;)) now i'll be using the new Synt S! many of our cars (turbo & kompressor engines, + AMG versions) have to have Mobil 1 as standard tho

Bushes........Brazilian and others!!!!
on mine, i replaced the anti roll bar bushes that were worn, but i think most of it was the upper arm bushes. i cheated!! - removed the upper arms, cleaned all the bolts etc & lubed up with spray copper slip!! :D had no play in my bushes & its all but cured the creaking. mine was doing it all the time & sounded awful. does it once every now & again which i can live with now, at least until i get some adjustable upper arms :)

PS leak
never done one on my zed, but try to suck out as much fluid as you can from the reservoir 1st (good old turkey baster is good for this ;)). then just undo each end & remove the pipe :D

Oil - You get what you pay for!
ah ok, cool. so i'll be getting a fully synth oil for free in my car now then :D. how much better would mobil 1 be compared to the mobil synt s then?? weve also got another new oil to stock  a low ash oil for new euro4 diesel engines - mb spec 229.31 - any info on that??

got to say - why are we doubting every big BHP car that comes out of the states?? not that i guess they would care what we think, but its a bit insulting for us to keep saying there lying about their power output. now if it was a Supra that was banging out that power then fair enough if we all took the piss, but these are other zeds FFS!! we should be congratulating them!! good luck to em i say :)

intercoolers
unless your planning on running 6-700bhp+, then uprated sidemounts are the way to go. unless your just doing it for the look!! ;)
