most aftermarket chips dont have a seperate ignition mapping for if its detting, so the ignition doesnt get retarded. a boost controller will bypass the boost solenoids so you have no safety boost either! if you havnt upped your boost & you use good quality fuel then chances are you wont det! if you know what it sounds like then you can hear it.

depends if you are detting or not :D if you have an aftermarket chip & boost controller then it does bugger all anyway!! ;)

yea, as said - code 34 does NOT mean you have det. just the det sensor circuit is faulty. it puts you into safety boost as it has no way of knowing if you are detting or not

fit a 1meg ohm resistor in-line

never said it would get out of hand, it just doesnt look very appropriate on a public forum IMO (& many others) i moved it to another section of the forum, feel free to carry on the thread there nick! what is the problem about starting the threads in rant club anyway?? :confused: if someone posts a for sale thread in the help & advise section that would get moved too!

not a very good one i would say. as iv said, its common sense. 99% of the members seem to have it when posting. we moderate the other 1% im sure if you post a thread entitled " I wonder how long this thread will last before it is locked" you can guess the outcome! :rolleyes:
