yup! if you get a series2 PTU then that comes with a loom that you plug in to your existing connectors. you could just cut & solder the wires if you go that route.

dont forget you only see the problems on here, which could happen on any car you own. that is the problem with car forums, they sometimes make the cars look bad!! iv had mine for nearly 4 years now with hardly any problems at all!! regular servicing & mods aside, the only things that have actually failed was my PTU (repaired it & could have left it at that, but got a new one for about £130) & a starter motor. not bad going id say ;) but if you really are concerned then prob best to get a ford or something!! :D
