head gasket problem?
Sounds like your turbos are not the problem your head gasket (s). The bubbling water could just be an air lock or a blocked radiator but being sh1tty brown normally indicates an attempt to perhaps seal a leak with radseal. I would thoroughly flush the system including backflushing and refill with fresh coolant and then see how it is.

Restorations
FFS lads please tone it down a bit. Im in a 350Z atm but lm beginning to yearn a 300TT again. Jimmers in France atm on holiday, perhaps l should give his car an outing, its sat in his workshop and hasnt seen the road since last year.

A Trip To Powerzed + more
Ive had 3 300tt's and two have had the Jimmer treatment and they have been just brilliant. I dont treat them nice either as l was a big fan of track days and also speed. The max l got out of my last 300tt was 174mph at Donnington and it was still raring to go but the track did not allow it. He has also rebuilt the engine on my Navara and in 2 years since l have not put a mug of coolant in. I am the envy of some of his mates who also have Navaras as l regularly get between 29 and38 mpg and that is driving like l stole it. Yes he is my son and l am obviously biased but l also spend a lot of time in the workshop and his attention to detail is unbelievable. He never wavers, to him all work is like working on his own Zed, only the best is good enough. He is a perfectionist without doubt and there are no substitutes in his mind. Its either absolutely right or its unacceptable !!! His waiting list just confirms his knowledge, experience and the quality of the finished product. All hail Jimmer.

300zx prices
Sadly there will alway be the person desperate to sell due to other financial priorities which usually leads to them being sold cheap and also not all owners come on this forum and tend to value their car by Ebay examples. Another downer in the price battle is some of the headers to many of the blogs on here when they play up, this will also put potential new owners off. I think we are our own worst enemies when things go wrong as we tend to then loose our patience. These cars are now 20 years old (+-5years) and are quite sophicated engineering wise which make diagnostics a nightmare and we should accept that ownership will have its ups and downs. We all love the ups so lets all love the downs too, on a plus note you usually always learn something when they do have a problem whereas when there going well...........you just enjoy driving it.

300zx prices
Its a shame that Zeds have not enjoyed the financial appreciation that other makes/models of similar era have enjoyed. They are by far the best looking car amongst them and thats from any angle when viewed, their damn quick even in standard trim and with a few basic mods can be greatly improved. Sadly l think the image is tarnished by running costs including maintenance and repairs, which when in the hands of a person struggling to pay the insurance on it let alone maintaining it, then some sort of mechanical failure is bound to happen. This leads to bad mouthing of the car regarding reliabilty. If prices were £2k to £3k higher, it would perhaps keep them out of reach of the shoestring mob and they would gain a better reputation.

De-Cat Help..... please?
I would be very reluctant to decat a car these days as it has now been included in the MoT and even older cars are now included in the testers vehicle list. If the engine has not under gone a mechanical refresh recently the emissions and hydrocarbons could be well over the limit and thus fail the test. This is also going to affect cars fittedwithnon standard kit like larger injectors, larger turbos and ECU chips. Prior to now these cars were classed and tested as 'classics' and emissions not included. This has now changed.

woohoo
I will also have one please James, see you at Jimmers when available.

lightened flywheel and clutch suppliers
Support is not hard when you buy from the States..............its non existant. I know someone who purchased a load of bits from Z1motosports for a rebuild including a new water pump, which failed shortly after start up so was obviously faulty. and Z1 told them to contact Nissan UK.....?? and you can guess what the answer was from them can't you. despite going back to Z1 he didnt get anywhere and bought another new water pump from a UK supplier. I had a turbo fail at 250 miles and Z1 after pushing for 6 weeks they sent me a replacement core but I had to stomach the engine removal again to fit it and all the phone calls to the States as they never returned any calls. Be warned, when it goes wrong, your the one that will end up out of pocket and all for a couple of quid saved usually illegally.

UK turbo charger suppliers
I would not buy from the States as as you have correctly stated there could be warranty problems. I had a pair from Z1 and one failed after 250 miles, it was a nightmare getting them to agree to replacing it. The bearing had collapsed and caused the impellor to hit the body and this was during running in after a rebuild. Eventually after amonth of emails backward and forwards, they sent me just the core and requseted the old one back for return to the manufacturer. I had to suffer the cost of the engine being removed once again to fit the core. They did reimburse me the postage for returning the knackered core. Tread carefully on the British side as well as there are a few duffers amongst them especially down south.

Injector cleaning/testing...
What mileage have these injectors covered and what make are they. It is unusual for injectors to require an interim pressure test unless you are experiencing fuelling problems which may not actually be the injectors.

Spotted this zed on ebay
It was my car for about 4 years which I bought from Sasha in Bristol. It has had practically everything replaced /refurbed by Jimmer, its a nice car and the guy does not want to sell it but he wants a Harley and his missus says 'only one toy'. so it has to go.

Exhaust popping on the overrun
I would check your compression as it normally indicates badly sealing exhaust valves which allows fuel on the compression stroke to exit into the exhaust which then fires when the plugs ignite. If allowed to continue it can eventually blow your silencers apart.

Gearbox on its way out?
