Splendid, Ross on Wye anyone ?
  2. Black (dark colour if not) zed on a breakdown truck heading south on the M5 sunday down near Bridgwater. Anyone on here with probs.
  3. Blimey Al, that is a bigger job. You have to undo the suspension fixings on inners wings, disconnect the anti-roll bar, the tension rods and the hydraulics. The suspension will require clamping or you will have problems with putting it back in.

Well perhaps we should change this to July 5th as it seems that everyone is busy. How about some comments or suggestions on venues.!!
  5. If this is true, then he is a chump especially as he has been on here since the original enquiry about his whereabouts was posted. He could have let us know then which makes me think that it is another fob off. I hope not as I have already spoken to the Police via my mates son and he was going to set the wheels in motion to get the local constabulary involved which would mean a visit and interview. I will stop this action and see what happens in the next 7 days.
  6. Thats great, at least we should know whether he is in trouble and could pass the hat round.:p

Well, what a response, only Zogg and Funkyboogaloo have responded. perhaps someone else has better ideas for a meet. Let me know and I will let you take over.:headvswal
  8. If someone has his details then they should inform him of the situation. All those that have paid by Paypal should contact Paypal to inform them of his illegal activities and thus get his account frozen. I will certainly be going to the police tomorrow if he does not get in touch soon, luckily a workmates son is in the CID and will contact the local police for us once his address is known. Lets hope all this is not required and he comes forward with a valid explanation, or refund.
  9. I get the feeling that the holiday was bogus as well. This was just to give him time to transfer the money from Paypal to his bank account. Should we not inform the Police as it is obvious fraud.

Thats a shame Pete as I have not seen you for quite a while due to the Zed being fubared by some 80 year old dink.

That would be good.......................what do other Zed owners think.
  12. What of Daryll, I see what I can do.:)
  13. He pm'd me las Friday stating the same reason about leaving my parcel with a friend who had not posted it and promised to send it out next day (saturday) needless to say I have not received it. If someone has his address as they have collected stuff from him then I would very much like it. I smell a rat here as it sounds very familiar.

Any suggestions for the next meet. I know the forecast is bad for this weekend and possibly all next week, but we are now in flaming June, as it use to be called and should be looking up. As a suggestion, how about Sunday the 21st June, meet at the Salthouse pub in Clevedon, they have a biggish carpark, plus a public one adjacent. If we could find an all-day pub in some outlaying area, say Churchill, Blagdon etc., we could perhaps have a drive in convoy to the said pub / village, and then have a pie and a pint. Another good day out would be to meet say somewhere near Cheddar, and then drive across country to the Haynes Museum down near Castle Cary. I have always enjoyed the museum here despite visiting it about 5 times. Another pub open all day with a big car park is the Globe at Newton St Loe, which is halfway between Bristol and Bath on the A4. The food is not bad either. We could meet at the Severn Bridge services for a photo shoot and a chat, and then drive to the Salthouse in Clevedon, or a pub in Cheddar, or the Stag & Hounds in Chuchill, or the pub at Princetown on Dartmoor, or Exmouth, or Exeter down by the canal, or Seatown (Dorset) which has a cracking car park right on the front adjacent a pub, or go over the severn Bridge to the Forest of Dean. Or any suggestions.
  15. I have now applied to Paypal for his address and will be issuing a County Court Summons to recover the money. If he does not pay I will send in the bailiffs or get an attachement of earnings.
  16. Does anyone know what happening with this guy. Anyone else awaiting parts after paying. He sends out nice pm's but not the goods. I hope you read this Scott.....................it will only get worse.
  17. Not strictly correct. On the series 1 the gearbox cooler is in the radiator and the engine cooler is the small one up front. On the series 2 that changed to the engine oil cooler being in the rad and the gearbox cooler is the small one up front. (this is from personal experience of 4 Zeds, there may be other options).
  18. Why not run it past your solicitor first and if he thinks it is OK then post up on the DRIFTWORKS forum. You can also issue a County Court summons now up to the value of £15K and if he fails to respond, you can send the bailiffs round. I don't know how long this has been going on but time has made this guy think that you are not going to do anything, so no more threats, take legal action.
  19. I have to put things straight here. Daryl polishes Jimmers spanners and gets the breakfast rolls. I know he was once trusted with the brown sauce but only once, it was everywhere. He is on the first year of an apprenticeship with Jimmer and I believe he now knows the spanner sizes for Zeds. He does own a multi purpose spanner ( a shifter) which he had chromed and he keeps it in a tuppaware container. Nice lad tho'.
  20. I'm gutted for you Dave, as you have put so much into get this car looking right, and now when the economy is bad you have to part with it. I hope you do well pricewise but it will not cover your emotional costs. Good luck.
  21. They sound OK but why the 'but hex heads', the original flywheel bolts have hex heads.
  22. And a lifetime guarantee !! or I will cut off his inheritance.
  23. If this vehicle is a recent import and you do not have any documentation from the Importer to enable registration in this country, it will only be a breaker. If it has previously been registered, the VIN number on the plate under the bonnet would get its details from the DVLA.
  24. What you are suggesting is that it struggles under load (in gear) between 2 to 2500 rpm and is then sluggish which suggests that something is perhaps breaking down. This could just be a bad connection say between the PTU and the CAS, or even a duff plug 0r coil pack. It might even be fuel and would pay to check your fuel pressure just in case the filter has collapsed / blocked. Another possibility is the fuel pump ECU which normally when failing allows the engine to start but not rev. It could also be an air leak on the intake side giving it a weak mixture or still a boost leak somewhere.
  25. Sounds like an air leak to me or perhaps a plug / coil pack gone down. Can you borrow someone elses ECU just to try and see if there is any difference in running.
