  1. The first thing i changed was the exhaust tips from the Oval styling to Quad tips! Once this was done, i went about finding the right body shop for the job and eventually i found them. I gave them my list of what i wanted done and then they cracked on. First they removed the spoiler and filled the whole and then removed the tail lights and centre panel and then started to smooth the boot lid I had asked them to widen the rear arches to match with the front:
  2. I was going to wait until the whole project was finished before i write this up, but i find myself with time to kill. I have had my zed for a bit over a year now and have done a couple modifications to it: HICAS Delete Larger SMICs Larger Radiator but the one thing that really bugged me the whole time was the style of the car. this was mainly down to a mismatched paint job and this summer i set about rectifying this. These are pictures from the first day i bought the car:
  3. I just need enough to get rid of the bulge. I'd take fag paper clearance!
  4. Maybe speak to who you're renting from. You may be able to work something out for adding a shed/workspace because it could increase value of the property?
  5. If a bigger unit equals faster production and thus more sales then maybe it makes sense. If a bigger unit won't make your work any quicker, it just adds costs to you which doesn't really make sense. Don't know how much room you have where you live you could maybe build a shed unit in the garden or something? Could be cheaper and then no extra rent
  6. I will tell them to adjust it before messing with custom brackets. Thanks for the help!
  7. I haven't removed the carbon canister or the overflow tank. Do you think I should tell them to remove these for more room? What effect will it make?
  8. Custom made brackets it is! Thank you chaps!
  9. Z1 sizing but not actually Z1. I assume there's nothing that can be done to stop it hitting and bulging?
  10. We've had a lot of work done with them in this long months of it being there, I would expect them to blend this very low cost just because of how much has been done with them. I will ring tomorrow to tell them to adjust and check clearances but wanted to know if anyone has had issues with this
  11. They did take it off to paint it yeah. I'm not sure why it would cause an issue now though? The intercoolers weren't moved
  12. Okay so had a report back from the body shop saying that apparently the larger SMICs I have are causing the fresh paint to crack? Although I'm nearly 100% sure they weren't touching the bumper when it went in there. I'm not with the car so I can't clarify but has anyone heard of/had any issues of this nature?
  13. There are some ECUs that have traction built in(not sure on launch) so if you were looking at a new ECU accompanied with a map also that would kill 2 birds with one stone..
  14. Race logic traction control has been discontinued so you just have to get lucky on eBay and the like.. one came up roughly 8 months ago and I nabbed it as soon as I saw it.
  15. If you're just after drag times, I think you should just practice launches for a while before looking at other options because as mentioned above, new car doesn't mean perfect runs. So you'll either get your Z launch to work, or you'll have more experience and knowledge launching for when you transition to a different car
  16. I'm not sure if there is a plug on the engine itself. If not, fill up wit coolant run the engine a while to move the coolant around the system and the drain the rad again. With some luck you'll be draining *some* of the coolant that was in the engine you couldn't get to.. I think there are kits you can get to suck out the coolant in the system? Not sure though never used one.
  17. Had a delivery of some lovely new rims today! :)
  18. That is a great fit. Okay so I know I can get the fronts to work based on that. Now to find some rims with better fitting rear..
  19. this is the size of arch work I've had done. Those look like a great fit
  20. That's brilliant so the front rim at that size should be fine. Just need to know if the rear 18x10.5 ET12 would work :/
  21. What width are they? Do they sit flush with the arch? In terms on tyres, I'd go for what fits without being ditch finders..
  22. Date dependant, i would be in!
  23. Thanks for the link Chris, These are the results i got against the stock front and back size and offset, do these seem reasonable? as said a few times my rear arches are approx 1" wider (25.4mm) Front 18x9.5 ET22 Inner Clearance:2mm LESS (the inside of the wheel to the strut housing) Outer Position:EXTEND 48mm (position of the outside edge of the wheel) Rear 18x10.5 ET12 Inner Clearance:2mm LESS (the inside of the wheel to the strut housing) Outer Position:EXTEND 48mm (position of the outside edge of the wheel) This seems like it would work?
