  1. Video of Day 3 is here! Day 3 was up to John o Groats, then along the NC500 route to Ullapool, down to Loch Ness and finish at Fort William. However best laid plans and all that....
  2. Video of Day 2 is here! This day was all the way up the A9. A mix of dual and single roads. The last 50-odd miles into Wick were amazing, twists and turns, over hills, along the coast, well worth doing if you can as it forms part of the NC500! Please try watching on a big screen with good sound as I have tried to preserve the quality again.
  3. Video of Day 1 is here! This day was all motorway driving, so I tried to capture the excitement of starting the car for the first time for a roadtrip and the motorway crusing as a bit of a montage... p.s Try and watch it on a big screen with good sound for the (hopefully) best experience. It will be a bit blurry in a few places as I had to use software to zoom in. On our first day we didnt realise how close we needed to be to the GoPros to get close up shots
  4. Thanks guys! It been a really good trip! The weather in Scotland wasnt ideal (as you will see from the GoPro footage) but it was worth it and the weather got better and better as we headed south. Here are some stats for the trip: Mileage is slightly off because this is from my fuel app and I didnt fill up when I got home, but total was 2311 for me (Eastbourne to Eastbourne). The mpg was pretty good, the 9th, 10th and 11th were mostly spent on motorway driving up to Wick so were just cruising, but apart from about 200 miles of motorway, the rest of the trip was A and B roads. I was impressed with @Aff68 car, although modified and tuned, it didnt drink much more than mine. Whenever we dicussed tank levels, his needle was only a few millimetres lower than mine. Hopefully this can be a good guide to someone else planning/budgeting for a roadtrip in the future. Im now going to start editing the videos and hoping to release a couple over the weekend for you guys!
  5. Happy belated Birthday!
  6. Happy belated Birthday!
  7. Are we going to see you at Simply Japanese this year then? ?
  8. May have celebrated a little too much last night....there were shots, the bar closed up and kicked us out and then we took this....
  9. Day 8 (240 miles) = last day for us if you don't include driving home tomorrow. We are in Clutton just south of Bristol, going to head through Cheddar and the along the North Devon and Cornish coast to lands end. It is a glorious morning, the cars decided that they wanted to talk face to face last night...
  10. Made it to Clutton! Guess who we saw today! Airbnb is amazing And the girls are sleeping and a bit dirty ?
  11. Day 7 (225miles) Barmouth to Clutton via the Brecon beacons. We were talking last night that today is the penultimate day, we have all enjoyed this trip and that it's a shame it's almost over! In other news my car reached an important milestone on the M6 yesterday:
  12. Thanks Lee!
  13. Any chance you can flip it? It won't seem to do it for me?!
  14. Made to Barmouth! Rest time for the ladies... And rest time for us!
  15. Couple of pictures from Wrynose and Hardknott...
  16. Couple of pictures from Wrynose and Hardknott...
  17. Day 6 (235 miles) Great Langdale to Barmouth via Wrynose & Hardknott passes, North Wales expressway and Snowdon. All going well so far, just over half way for the John o groats to lands end mileage, two thirds for total mileage for whole trip. Cars are driving like dreams. Yesterday while stuck at temporary traffic lights, Aff and I pretended to be motorbikes and reved our engines a few times, making everyone in the queue start looking! We have had some much attend, almost everywherr we park up someone comes to have a chat with us. They are getting dirty (which is playing with mine and Affs OCD) but it's a badge of honour and will not be washed until we get home!
  18. Guess who we are with!
  19. Day 5 - 270 miles. Fort William to the Lake District via Glencoe and Troon. Last night we stayed in a log cabin which was very cool! Aff saw Craig's brother yesterday and waved back!
  20. Day 4 (for me) today... 18miles to John o groats for photos, the along part of the Scottish 500route to Ullapool. Then down to loch Ness, through fort Augustus to fort William. A nice mixture of A roads, B roads and some single track. Please find attached a nice picture of the ladies sleeping....
  21. Had a lovely drive up today, stopped at pitlochry for a coffee and a visit to the dam. Then up the A9 with cruise control steady at 60mph (average speed cameras all of the way) to Inverness. Had a walk around and a cheeky double cheese burger for lunch. Then the last 100miles up to Wick. The A99 is a fantastic road and when we got past the final campervan, it got even better! Affs car corners like it's on rails, mine just about keeps up but liked to wag its tail and Simon on his Ducati had great fun!
  22. Made it to Inverness!
  23. Stirling to Wick today. 260 miles of A9. Rain forecast but won't damped spirits!
